Rev. John Sherman, A.M., died Aug. 2, 1828 age 56 yrs. 
He was born in New Haven, Conn., graduated with honors of Yale College. He 
emigrated to this town in 1806 and became the first pastor of the Reformed 
Church. He was an ardent admirer of the truth, firm in his friendships. 
Distinguished for the urbanity of all stations he accepted.
