Last Will and Testament of Sarah Roberts of Utica, Oneida County, state of New 
York.

     I, Sarah Roberts of Utica, Oneida County, state of New York, being of sound 
disposing mind and memory do make, ordain, and publish this as my last will and 
testament.
     I direct first that my executor on my decease pay all my just debts and 
funeral expenses.
     I give and bequeath to my son Benjamin F. Roberts my center table, to my son 
James H. Roberts my large mirror, to my son-in-law Martin A. Lewis my Oddfellows 
picture.  To my son Hanford T. Roberts, six sofa chairs.  To my daughter, 
Charlotte F. Lewis, my large sofa, my bureau and my carpet.
     I give, bequeath, and devise the rest and residue of my estate, real and 
personal which shall remain at my decease after paying my funeral expenses, just 
debts, and satisfying the bequests above made as follows:  To my daughter 
Elizabeth Pilbeam, two fortieths of said residence; to my son John C. Roberts one 
fortieth; to my son Joseph C. Roberts one fortieth of said residence; to my son 
William A. Roberts one fortieth of said residence; to my grandchild Sarah Helen 
VanSlyke one fortieth and one half of a fortieth of said residence; to my 
grandchild Julia Francis VanSlyke one fortieth and one half of a fortieth of said 
residence; to my daughter Sarah Ann Downs six fortieths of said residence; to my 
daughter Charlotte I. Lewis six fortieths of said residence; to my son James H. 
Roberts seven fortieths of said residence; to my son Benjamin F. Roberts six 
fortieths of said residence, and to my son Hanford t. Roberts seven fortieths of 
said residence.
     I hereby appoint my son John C. Roberts to be the executor of this my last 
will and testament and I authorize and empower him to sell my real estate and 
execute conveyance for the same and to convert the same into money to carry out 
the provisions of this my said will.
     In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this twenty-fourth 
day of March one thousand eight hundred and seventy four.

     We whose names are hereto subscribed do certify that Sarah Roberts the 
testatrix, subscribed her name to this instrument in our presence and in the 
presence of each of us and at the same time she declared in our presence and 
hearing that the same was her last will and testament and requested us and each 
of us to sign our names thereto as witnesses of the execution thereof and which 
we have done accordingly in the presence of the testatrix and of each other.
