     In the name of God Amen.  I John P Cushman in the Town of Lee County of 
Oneida and State of New York of the age of seventy one years and being of
sound mind and memory do make publish and declare this my last will and
testament in the manner following that is to say I give and bequeath all my
property both real and personal that I may be possessed of at the time of my
decease to my wife Catherine Cushman during her lifetime and at her decease it
shall be equally divided share and share alike between my eight children
namely Joseah Cushman of Lee, N.Y. Ebenezer H. Cushman of Lee N.Y. John L
Cushman of Wilson Colfax Co Nebraska Lucy Marsh of Lee N.Y. Spencer P. Cushman
of Maynard Iowa Ordelia Cross of Lee N.Y. Elias L. Cushman of Lee N.Y.
Caroline Dunbar of Lee N.Y.

     Lastly, I hereby nominate and appoint Isham A. Gillett as my sole 
executor of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills
by me made.  

     In witness where of I have hereunto set my hand and seal this fifth day 
of June in the year of our Lord One Thousand Eight hundred and Seventy Nine.

The above instrument consisting of one sheet was at the date whereof signed 
sealed delivered and declared by the said John P Cushman as and for his last
will and testament in the presence of us who at his request and in his
presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as
witness thereto and he at the same time acknowledged to us and each of us that
he had signed and sealed the same that we therefore at his request and in his
presence and in the presence of each other signed our names as attesting
witnesses.
