I Stewart Kees of the town of Western in the County of Oneida and State of New York of the age of sixty six years and being of sound mind and _______ domain publish and declare this my last will and testament ____________ following that is to say. First I give and bequeath to my wife Catharine E. Kees the entire use of a certain farm situated in the town of Western County of Oneida State of New York upon which I now reside deeded from George Dunn and Louise his wife to Stewart Kees on the twenty third day of March 1868 and recorded in the Clerks office of the County of Oneida on the 30th day of March 1868 at 11 oclock am Liber 286 of Deeds at page 79, with all the stock, horses, sheep and swine, farming utensils wagons sleighs and all things used to work the same at the time of my death to her used by her during the term of her natural life or so long thereafter as she may remain my widow, and from and immediately after her decease or remarriage I give and devise the same to my son Edwin Kees his heirs and assigns forever, provided however that he shall properly bury (and bear the expense of the same) my son Frank W. Kees now in the County Asylum in the City of Rome and erect tombstones over the graves of my first wife Fanny Kees and my own and present wife Catharine E. Kees and pay for the same. Allso that should there be a railroad across said farm whatever damages shall be paid for the same shall be used to erect a monument for the family except so much of the same as it may cost to move any buildings that may have to be moved. I allso give and bequeath to my son Edwin Kees a certain mortgage assigned to me from Clarissa Gue on the 19th day of October 1874, assignment recorded on on the 20th day of October 1874 in case I shall be the owner of the same at the time of my death and I hereby appoint my sons Oliver Kees and Edwin Kees Executors of this my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal this second day of March in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and eighty-three. Stewart Kees. The above instrument consisting of one sheet was at the date thereof signed sealed published and declared by the said Stewart Kees as and for his last will and testament in presence of us who at his request and in his presence and in the presence of each other have subscribed our names as witnesses thereto.
