Van Bergen Smith, 84, of LaFayette, N.Y. Survivors include his wife, Ruth 
Bush; a daughter, Elaine Tucker of Edgewood, Md.; three sons, Van Bergen Jr. 
of Houston, Calvin of Sarasota and Keith of LaFayette, N.Y.; a brother, Glenn 
Smith of Leesburg; and nine grandchildren.

Additional Comments:
He worded at Barthalomew Ford in Tully, N.Y. and at Fabius Central Bus Garage.

He was an Air Force veteran of World War II where he served as a drill 
instructor and later overseas in the Pacific theater.
