Born in Birmingham, England he emigrated to the United States with his wife and two children in 1958. Served in the Royal Navy in Great Britain and was injured at Dunkirk in 1947. He worked for Beak and Skiff Apple Orchard for 30 years until an accident caused him to retire at the age of 61. He was also a 30 year member of the Amber Fire Department. He was predeceased by five children, John Leslie, Peter Patrick, Colleen Marie, William Alfred and Bill Andrew Bailey. Survivors: His wife of 55 years the former Barbara W. A retired wood patternmaker, his work included the making of a camera component that was with the first moon landing in 1969. Bob was a proud veteran of WWII attached to Marine Scout Bombing Squadron 243 and the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bouchard was also a devoted Catholic, a friend to Saint (Padre) Pio and a communicant of St. Stephen's Church. Paul served in the U.S. Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps as a fighter pilot and was honorably discharged as a 1st Lieutenant. She is survived by her husband George R. "Dick" Sloane; three sons and daughters-in-law, Henry and Marilyn DuFour of Toledo, OH, Jeffrey and Deana DuFour of Sidney, NY, Daniel and Mary DuFour of Baldwinsville, NY; a daughter, Deborah DuFour of Liverpool, NY; one stepson, Gary Sloane of Norwich, NY; a stepdaughter and her husband, Terri and Michael Neeley of Clay; eight grandchildren and seven step-grandchildren. Swartfager, 76, of Cicero, passed away Monday at home. Born in Clarion, PA, Mr. Swartfager was a truck driver for 27 years with ACME Markets and he was also a master electrician. An Air Force veteran, he was member of the VFW Post in Mattydale, the Cicero American Legion, and also a member of the Teamsters #317 Retirees. Survivors include three sons, Fred Rhoades, Charles Swartfager Jr. and Scott Swartfager; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren. Services will be private for the family. Mr. Sweetland was a former member and past Chairman of the Onondaga County Soil and Water Conservation District, and was active in soil and water conservation at local, state and national levels. Albert was an avid golfer and a former Senior Ski Patroller at Toggenburg Ski Center. He retired as owner and operator of the Sweetland Farms, Fabius, NY. Wilber, 82, formerly of Minoa, North Syracuse and Hastings, and a graduate of Syracuse University in 1943, who died in Germany on November 14, 2003, will be re-interred in the United States. He served in the Pacific as a Company Commander in the U.S. Marine Corps during World War II. He is survived by his wife, the former Evelyn Herold, now of Boston; a brother, James E. Wilber of Mexico, NY, and Bonita Springs, FL; along with several nieces and nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews, who will assemble from around the United States to celebrate his life and the Requiem Mass. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated on August 13, 2004, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary Star of the Sea Church, Mexico, New York, followed by burial in the family plot at St. Mary Cemetery in Minoa.
