Anderson, Lawrence D.   
August 5, 2004 Lawrence D. Anderson, 79, of Radisson, died Thursday, August 5,
2004, at Syracuse Home Assoc. in Baldwinsville. Born in Minneapolis, MN, Mr.
Anderson was transferred to the Syracuse area in 1953 with the Boise Cascade
Corp. He was vice president of Top Lines, Inc. in Syracuse. He was elected to
Who's Who of American Businessmen. He was the owner of Sales Representative
Co. in Syracuse. He held degrees from the University of Minnesota and Syracuse
University. He was a Navy veteran of WWII. He was a very active member of the
Baldwinsville First United Methodist Church . He served on the board of Empire
State Lumbermen's Assoc. He was predeceased by his first wife, Beverly, who
died in 2002. Surviving: his wife, the former Mary Eleanor Slye of Radisson;
two sons, Myles of Baldwinsville and Blair of Atlanta, GA; two grandsons,
Tyler and Bennett. A memorial service will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the
Baldwinsville First United Methodist Church, 17 W. Genesee Street. Rev. Gordon
Knapp will be officiating. Burial will be held in the Onondaga Co. Veterans
Cemetery. Arrangements are in the care of the Gates Funeral Home, Inc.,
Baldwinsville.

Billings, Eva M.   
August 10, 2004 Eva M. Billings, 91, of 114 Elbow Rd, North Syracuse, NY, died
Tuesday in the Loretto Geriatric Center, Syracuse, NY. Born in Ogdensburg, NY,
she was a Seamstress, employed by Learbury's Syracuse, NY for many years.
Survived by three daughters, Bettie West of North Syracuse, NY, Romona Potter
of FL, Margarete Barclay of North Syracuse, NY; and two sons, Bill Roach of
LasVegas, NV, and Paul of Syracuse; one sister, Helen; and one brother, James
Heagle; 29 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren. Predeceased by her
husband, Henry in 1989. Friends may call Thursday from 7 to 9 p.m. at

Bloom, John Ernest   
August 9, 2004 John E. Bloom, 82, of Cardiff, died Monday surrounded by his
family at the V. A. Medical Center. Born in Catskill, he was a graduate of
SUNY Cobleskill. He served in the Army Air Corps during WW II, and was a POW.
He was the owner of Blooms Poultry Farms for 52 years, retiring in 2003. He
was a member, Trustee and past President of the Board of Trustees of Cardiff
United Methodist Church. He was a volunteer fire fighter with the Cardiff Fire
Department, a volunteer coach for the LaFayette Community Council Baseball,
member of VFW LaFayette Post and a 50-year member and gatekeeper for Tully
Valley Grange. He enjoyed working in his garden and helping at his son Mike's
dairy farm. He was an avid Yankee fan and he enjoyed watching his family
participate in youth sports. Survivors: his wife of 56 years, the former Kay
Marie King; one daughter, Constance Cherry of Nedrow; four sons and their
wives, Terry (Judy) Bloom of Cardiff, Michael (Karen) Bloom of Otisco, Timothy
(Colleen) Bloom of Cardiff and Matthew (Maureen) Bloom of Chittenango; two
sisters, Harriet O'Conner of Coxsackie and Lillian MacLellan of North
Carolina; 21 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren. Services Saturday, 11 a.m.

Cappelletti, Gloria E.   
August 4, 2004 Gloria E. Cappelletti, 75, passed away on August 4, 2004, at
John T. Mather Hospital, Long Island, NY, after a brief illness. The daughter
of Frederick and Caroline Roser, she was born in Astoria, NY, October 2, 1928,
and graduated from the William Cullen Bryant High School in June of 1946. She
was predeceased by her husband of 48 years, Iggino J. Cappelletti, in 1996,
and a daughter Christine in 1995. Mrs. Cappelletti is survived by her daughter
Barbara of Roseville, CA; five sons, Michael, Vincent and Joseph of Hannibal,
Gene of Scriba and Anthony of Keene, NH; two sisters, Lorraine Case of
Syracuse and Carol St. John of Port Jefferson Station-Long Island, NY; 13
grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Gloria was
a devoted daughter, beloved sister and loving mother and will be missed

Tuesday. Born in New York City, he lived in Webster, NY, moving to Sandy Creek
in 1977. Employed in the real estate business, and owned several apartments in
the Sandy Creek-Lacona area. U.S. Army veteran, served from 1956-1961. He was
a Cub Master for the Boy Scouts for 25 years. Member of Sandy Creek Wesleyan
Church. Survivors: his wife of 47 years, Helen; two sons, Martin A. and
Ronald, both of Hastings; five grandchildren. Services Friday 2 p.m. at

August 10, 2004 Linda A. Gentile Dambro, 77, of North Syracuse, died Tuesday
at Birchwood Nursing home. She was born in Syracuse and was a life resident.
Linda retired from Syracuse Hancock International Airport in 1982 and prior to
the airport she worked for the N. Syracuse School District for many years. She
was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church and an active member of the Salina
Civic Center Seniors. Predeceased by her husband Alex 1986. Survivors:
daughters, Donna (John) Satunas of N. Syracuse, Mary (Kevin) Dambro-Klekosky
of Pennellville; grandson, John Benedict, III (Mischel) Satunas;
great-granddaughter, Kristen Becerra of Syracuse; and several nieces and

DeMartino, Catherine L. (Rena)   
(Rena) DeMartino August 10, 2004 Catherine L. (Rena) DeMartino, age 84, of
Syracuse, passed away Tuesday in St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born in
Syracuse and was employed with the Onondaga County Department of Social
Services for 29 years, retiring in 1985. Shewas a communicant of Our Lady of
Pompei Church. She is predeceased by her mother, Jennie Loce DeMartino in 1994
and her brother, Americo J. DeMartino in 2002. Catherine is survived by a
sister-in-law, Rose DeMartino; three nieces, Mary Anna DeMartino, Elizabeth
Torres and Teresa Palermo; five great-nieces and great-nephews, also several
cousins. Funeral services will be held on Friday 9:15 a.m. in the PIRRO AND
SONS FUNERAL HOME, and 10 a.m. in Our Lady of Pompei Church. Burial will be in

DePasquale, Mary A.   
August 11, 2004 Mary A. DePasquale, 87, died Wednesday, August 11, in St. Luke
Health Services, Oswego after a short illness. She was a former resident of
225 West First Street, Oswego. Miss DePasquale was a former employee of Conde
Knitting, Oswe-go, General Electric in Syracuse, and she was a seamstress for
McDonald's Fashion, Oswego. Miss DePasquale was a communicant of St. Joseph
Church and a member of St. Joseph Choir. She was predeceased by her parents,
Gaetano and Louise (Gentile) DePasquale; and her sister, Helen Morgan. Miss
DePasquale is survived by her brother, Peter DePasquale of Plymouth Meeting,
PA; and her two sisters, Catherine Butler and Rita Scott both of Oswego; and
several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be Saturday 8:15 a.m. from
the Sugar and Scanlon Funeral Home and 9 a.m. from St. Joseph Church. Burial

August 10, 2004 Eloise Duke Fischer, 88, of Liverpool, passed away Tuesday.
Born in Syracuse she had resided in Liverpool 52 years. She was a former
employee in the Comptroller's Office at the Town of Salina. Eloise was a
member of the Liverpool First United Methodist Church, Liverpool-Baldwinsville
OES #219, Liverpool Historical Society of Greater Liverpool, Liverpool
American Legion Auxiliary Post #188 and the Salvation Army. She was
predeceased by her husband John H. Fischer in 1971. Surviving are her sons,
John H. (Debra) of Tallahassee, FL, Leslie G. (Francine) of Liverpool; three
grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service 10 a.m.

August 9, 2004 George Edward Hill, born and raised in Stony Point, NY, moved
to Sandy Creek in 1991, died on August 9, 2004, peacefully at home with his
wife and family at his side, after a long illness. George worked for Orange &
Rockland Utilities from 1957 until his retirement in 2000. He liked fishing,
hunting and boating. George is survived by his loving wife Joyce (Hansen)
Hill; his daughter Georgia Pares and her husband Cesar; and his son George E.
Hill Jr. He is also survived by his stepchildren, Edward Mulholland and his
wife Joanne, Marion Mayer, Patrick Mulholland, David Mulholland and his wife
Kelly. He has 16 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Funeral services:

Kelleher Sr., John G.   
August 9, 2004 John G. Kelleher Sr., 91, formerly of Onondaga St. and Onondaga
Hill, died Monday peacefully at the home of his daughter in Cortland, NY. He
was born in Greenfield, MA, and graduated from the College of Holy Cross in
1934. He was em-ployed at the Chamber of Commerce, Boston Mutual Life
Insurance and Great American Indemnity Co. in Boston. He then worked for
Syracuse Transit Corp. and became Executive Vice President. He retired in 1978
as Director of Administration from C.N.Y. Centro. He served as a director of
NY Blue Shield, President of the Holy Cross Club of CNY, and President of the
Providence House Apartments from 1977-1999. He was a longtime member of the
Syracuse Rotary Club and Tuscarora Golf Club. He was a member of St. Michael's
Church, Onondaga Hill. He was predeceased by his wife of 62 years, Blanche M.
Kelleher, in 2002. He is survived by his daughters, Patricia K. (Donald)
Brooks of Cortland, NY, Joan K. (Michael) Echan of Vestal, NY; and a son, John
G. (Mary) Kelleher Jr. of Lebanon, NH; nine grandchildren and four
great-grandchildren. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Funeral

life July 28, 2004 in Brooklyn, NY. She was preceded in death by her mother

her stepmother, Joyce Little-ton; and two sisters, Della J. Smith and Josetta

August 9, 2004 Carmelita Lee Lorick, of 1207 Almond St, was born August 25,
1915, an only child, departed this earth on a quick flight to heaven after a
very short illness on August 9, 2004. Carmelita was affiliated with the Bishop
Forey Foundation. She alsoworked at Memorial Hospital as a clerk. Her
daughter, Marion Lorick preceded her in death June 1, 2004. Carmelita leaves
to cherish her memory two daughters, Carmelita Boatwright of Syracuse and Ruth
Cutting of Mobile, AL.; 12 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; 17

Murray, Gladys "Mickey"   
August 8, 2004 Gladys "Mickey" Murray, 88, of Kensington Pl., Syracuse, NY,
died peacefully at home Sunday. She was the widow of William D. Murray. Born
in Marion, Wisconsin. She was the Valedictorian of Wautoma High School. She
graduated fromKahler School of Nursing in Rochester, MN. She was a 1st
Lieutenant in WWII in the army nurse corp. Serving in New Guinea and the
Philippines as a member of the Mayo Clinic Unit. She was a longtime member of
Erwin First United Methodist Church. She served on many boards for the past
fifty years, including Chair of the United Methodist Women. She was an OR
nurse at Crouse Irving Memorial Hospital for 20 years. She is survived by her
children, Sandee Murray and her husband, Gerry Chenard of Stratham, NH, Bruce
Murray of Syracuse, Anne Plank and her husband, Rock of Shippensburg, PA; her
sister, Lorraine Stacker of Port Charlotte, FL; seven grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service 11 a.m.

August 10, 2004 Olga O'Connor, 75, of Syracuse, died Tuesday at University
Hospital. Born in Syracuse. She was a Teacher's Aide for the Syracuse School
District at Frazer Elementary School. She was a member of the Democratic Party
2nd Ward and the west end seniors group and St. Stephen's Church. She also
loved to help children. Survivors: Daughter, Sharron (Leslie Mulky) O'Connor

Syracuse; sister, Maria Hopp of Liverpool; three grandchildren, Justin,

Riccardi, Lynne Marie   
August 10, 2004 Lynne Marie Riccardi, of 11 Euclid Ave., Cortland, NY, passed
away, Tuesday, August 10, 2004 in Cortland Memorial Hospital at the age of 53
surrounded by her family and friends. Born, November 11, 1950 in Cortland,
Lynne was a daughter of Floyd and Evelyn Lundy Gallow and was a resident of
Cortland all her life. Lynne was a member of the 1969 graduating class of
Cortland High School. For over 37 years she was employed by J.C. Penney as an
assistant manager, first at their main street location and then Lynne moved
with the store to it's current location in Cortlandville. Lynne was a devoted,
wife, mother, daughter, sister and friend. She found great joy in traveling
with her husband, son and daughter-in-law, including a favorite stop in Disney
World. In recent years she and her family and friends enjoyed taking cruises
together. She was a communicant of St. Mary's Roman Catholic Church. She is
survived by her husband of 34 years; James Riccardi at home; a son and
daughter-in-law; James M. and Megan A. Riccardi of East Syracuse; her mother,
Evelyn Gallow of Cortland; two sisters, Faye Gallow and Deanna Grover both of
Cortland; two brothers, Robert Gallow of Cincinnatus, Dennis Gallow of Groton
and several nieces, nephews, cousins and many friends. Lynne was preceded in
death by a daughter, Julie Ann Riccardi in 1971 and by her father, Floyd
Gallow in 1987. Prayer services will be conducted on Friday at 9 a.m. from the
Chapel of Riccardi Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30

August 11, 2004 Linda J. Richardson, 55, of North Syracuse, passed away on
Wednesday at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was a life resident of the Syracuse
area. Linda is loved and remembered by her husband William, son Michael
(Sarah) Trask of Phoenix, daughter Andrea Trask of Syracuse, parents Frank and
Freda Polchlopek, sister Nancy Polchlopek, two grandchildren, Gavin and
Melody, and stepson Jay Richardson of Florida. Services will be held on
Saturday at 10 a.m. at New Comer Family Funeral Home, North Syracuse. Burial
will follow in North Syracuse Cemetery. Friends are invited to call on Friday

from Krell Distributing and formerly worked at Morgan Badgley. His wife, Sheri
Richer, died in 1995. Survivors: a daughter, Elizabeth Partee of Ashburn, VA;
a son, Robert Richer Jr. of Manlius; three sisters, Marion Ager of Minoa, Jean
DaPolito and Tony St. Hilaire, both of Manlius; and two granddaughters.

Scott, Riley W.   
August 10, 2004 Riley W. Scott, 83, of 66 Road, Hannibal, died peacefully
Tuesday at St. Luke Health Facility in Oswego. Born in Hannibal, August 31,
1920 to Mabel (Stock) and Frank Burr Scott, he was the youngest of six
children. Mr. Scott was a self-employedauto mechanic and owned Scott's Auto
Supply and Scott's Motors. He was a member of Hannibal United Methodist
Church; Loyal Order of the Moose; American Legion, Prior Stock Post and
Martville Rod and Gun Club, where he served as an officer. Mr. Scott was an
avid outdoorsman and hunter and he enjoyed woodworking. He served in the U.S.
Army during World War II, where he received several commendations including
the Bronze Star medal. Mr. Scott was predeceased by his wife, the former Leona
Cooper, who died in 1999; his brothers, Raymond and Robert; and sisters, Reta
Wilde and Leila Wallon. He is survived by his wife, the former Mary Hubbard of
Hannibal; his sister, Elsie Hudson of Canandaigua; three daughters, Faye
(Jack) Beckwith of Hannibal, Jacqueline Cole of Syracuse and Patricia Wright
(Tom Stevens) of Westernville; two sons, Paul Scott of Lowville and David
(Linda) Scott of Hannibal; stepchildren, James (Shirley) Draper of Virginia,
June (Ronald) Bartlett of Oswego, Floyd (Marilyn) Calkins and Ken (Cheryl)
Calkins both of Hannibal and Lester (Vicki) Calkins of Texas; 34
grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Calling

August 10, 2004 Marshall L. Tifft, 81, of Elbridge, passed away Tuesday at Van
Duyn. He was born in Sandy Creek. He was a driver for the Mayflower Transit
Agency and had previously worked for Allied Chemical. He had also been a
volunteer for the Sal-vation Army. He was predeceased by his wife, Marybelle
in January, and two stepchildren, Betty Schiano and Kenneth Van Etten.

Solvay, Sharon Van Etten of Syracuse; two stepsons, William Van Etten of
