Bogden, 83, formerly of Onondaga Hill, passed away at Alterra Wynwood, Manlius, on Friday, August 20. He was a graduate of Nottingham High School and Syracuse University. Mr. Bogden had been employed by the SolvayProcess division and Allied Chemical in their engineering department and by Onondaga County and New York State Health departments as a water quality engineer. During WWII he worked on the Manhattan Project. He was a former board member for the town of Onondaga and an active member of the Onondaga Hill Senior Center. Mrs. Chalifoux was born in Watertown, NY, and has been a resident of Fulton for most of her life. She was a former employee of Kemper Insur-ance in Syracuse. Medical Center in Syracuse in 1975, following 13 years of service as a psychiatric aide. He previously worked at the former County Home. He attended Fairmount Free Methodist Church. Mr. Hammond was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. She joined Pentecost Evangelical Missionary Baptist Church, where she served on the Usher Board, was a former trustee, church and announcing clerk. She was a member of The Blessed Voices of Assurance and the Northeastern District Baptist Association Women's Choir and a faithful usher, serving as a former recording and financial secretary. Sallie worked at Agway for over 28 years. Most recently she worked for A.J. Wright and Loretto Rest Nursing Home. Sallie was a member of the Zeta Phi Beta Sorority. She leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Rosalind R. McGill (Antoine) of Fayetteville, NC, and Denita Kelley (Antoine) of Syracuse; her husband David T. Howard August 20, 2004 C. Howard Murphy, 84, of Auburn, and Hutchinson Island, FL, died August 20, 2004, in the VA Hospital, Syracuse, following an extended illness. Mr. Murphy was born July 23, 1920, in Moravia, the son of John and Katherine O'Meara Murphy. Hewas a graduate of Holy Family High School, class of 1938, and Syracuse University, class of 1942. Mr. Murphy was a WWII veteran of the United States Army Air Corps, serving with the 8th Air Force in England. He was a member of V.F.W. Post 1975, a life member of the Auburn Elks #474, a member and past commander of the American Legion Post 97 and district chairman for American Legion baseball. As the owner of Murphy's Real Estate, he was a developer and home builder in the Auburn area for more then 50 years. He was a licensed real estate broker in New York and Florida and was still the owner of multiple commercial and residential properties. Mr. Murphy was a member and past president of the Cayuga County Association of Realtors. He was predeceased by his wife, Victoria B. Murphy, in 1995. He is survived by his son Shawn J. Murphy and his wife Teresa of Owasco; two beloved grandchildren, Tonya and Cassondra Jo Murphy; two sisters, Grace Jones and Helen Driscoll of Auburn, NY. There will be no calling hours. Born in New Mexico, she grew up in California. She moved to Syracuse in the 1950s. She was a descendant of Katherine Chapman of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. Betty was a strong and independent woman who revered her family, nature and animals. She was very proud of her Native American heritage. She is survived by her husband Charles; a son, Martin, and his wife, Dawn (Powers); a grandson Joshua Obey, all of East Syracuse. She also had many nieces and nephews. Shehomesteaded in the Yukon Territories and later worked for a lumber company in Olympia, WA, returning to Parish in 1978. She was employed with B.G. Sulzle Company and later with Agway Farm Supply. She owned and operated Labrador Sheep Farm. She was founder of the LAMB Co-op and active with the NYS and National Sheep and Lamb Growers Association. She retired in 2001 from Home Depot, Dewitt, because of her illness. Survived by her husband, Douglas of Parish; her mother, Margaret S. Gang, E. Syracuse; three sisters, Linda T. Gang, E.
