Conklin November 28, 2004 Grace M. Conklin Anderson, 91, of Parkrose Estates, Liverpool, died peacefully on Sunday, November 28, 2004, at Crouse Hospital. Born in Buffalo on January 13, 1913, she was one of five children of Charles and Elizabeth Corby. She wasmarried to Raymond Conklin from 1936 to 1970 and Herbert Anderson from 1973 to 1983. In the early '70s, she taught sewing classes to teens and adults through Singer Sewing Center in Buffalo. She was a skilled artist and quilter and a wonderful gardener. She was a member of Kenmore United Methodist Church since 1939 and a longstanding member of Hughes Class. She was a member of the Kenmore Garden Club and helped to maintain the garden boxes for the Village of Kenmore each summer for many years. She was also a volunteer for Meals on Wheels. She was predeceased by her husbands Raymond in 1970 and Herbert in 1983, as well as her sons, Raymond in 1941 and John in 1998. She is survived by her son Lawrence (Sandra) Conklin of Liverpool; daughter-in-law Linda Conklin of Olympia, Washington; stepdaughters, Catherine Shively of Las Vegas, Nevada, and Mary Jane Anderson of Kenmore, New York; grandchildren, Brent and Matthew Conklin and Timothy and Jennifer Parelli; and great-grandchildren, Annie Lynn Conklin and Jade Estell. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, December 4, 2004, at Elmlawn Cemetery, Kenmore, New York. Todd attended Cicero High School and received his equivalency diploma in 1982. November 30, 2004 Sally L. Deaton, age 72, of Route 11 South, Pulaski, died Tuesday at her home. She was born in Pennsylvania on June 1, 1932, the daughter of Dr. Clark and Jeanette Brattager Laus. She graduated from Nottingham High School in 1950 and New Paultz College in 1954. She taught at Roxboro and Bessie Riordan Elementary schools in N. Syracuse for 25 years, retiring in 1998. She moved to Pulaski in 1976 and married Brantley Deaton on August 19, 1976. She and her husband owned and operated Deaton's Home Center for many years. She was a member of the Pulaski Wesleyan Church, was program director for Vacation Bible School, also taught Sunday School and was a member of the Worship Team. She was a member of the Salmon River Fine Arts Center, and a mentor at Pulaski Elementary School. (Padden) Hahn, 80, of Syracuse, died Wednesday morning at Crouse Hospital. The eldest of Edward and Sarah Padden's 11 children, Mary was born in Greenwood, NY, and graduated from Arkport Central School. She moved to Syra-cuse in 1945 to continue her nursing studies at Memorial Hospital. That same year she met and married George E. Hahn. They built a house in Eastwood, raised a family, and traveled extensively until George's death in 1992. Mary's children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her highest priority and great joy. She also enjoyed gardening, baking, traveling and reading. Mary was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. Besides her parents and husband, Mary was predeceased by four brothers. She is survived by her sons, Patrick E. of Syracuse, James M. of Liverpool, and Gary (Akum Norder) of Albany; her daughters, Mary Anne Hahn and B.J. Born in Utica, on March 5, 1947, he was the son of Charles E. and Virginia J. Hamlin. A resident of this area for the past twelve years, Chuck was a graduate of Notre Dame High School, Utica, received his Bachelors of Science degree in accounting from City College of New York and his Masters of Business Administration degree from Syracuse University. He married Kelly O'Hern in Syracuse on November 17, 1990. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Hamlin was program manager for the United States Government-Department of Army and had offices at Fort Drum. He was also associated with his father, Charles and his brother-in-law, Ron Cook, in the operation of Hamlin's Boats and Motors on Oneida Lake. A veteran of the Vietnam era, Chuck served with the United States Navy from 1967 to 1971. He was a communicant of St. Mary's of the Lake Catholic Church, Verona Beach, a member of the American legion, the American Society of Military Comptrollers, the Oneida Lake Association, and the Verona Beach Lighthouse Association. Surviving besides his wife, Kelly, and his parents, Charles and Virginia, are three sons; his twin sons, Sean Charles Hamlin and Casey O'Hern Hamlin, both at home and David M. Hamlin of Denver, Colorado; three daughters and one son-in-law, Karen A. Hamlin and Rebecca L. She was born in Red Creek on November 21, 1904, the daughter of Phillip and Lottie Keanen Willams. She resided in Pulaski from 1925 to 1997 when she moved to Florida. She was a teacher at APW schools for 12 years, retiring in 1967, and also taught in Pulaski. She was married to Clarence J. Gorman, a Pulaski attorney, on July 26, 1929. He died December 14, 1946. She later married Thomas S. Richardson of Auburn in 1949; he died in 1954. She graduated from Moravia High School in 1922 and Elmira College in 1926 with a Liberal Arts Degree. She was a member of the Pulaski Congregational Church, Monday Historical Club, member and past president of American Legion Auxiliary Robert Edwards Post #358, Pulaski, volunteer at Pulaski Library, and former chairman of the Fresh Air Effort. She then went on to study in Vienna, Austria at the Kunsthistorisches Museum. Carol was a lifelong artist and for the past several years had managed the Oswego International Marina while spending winters sailing in the Florida Keys and Caribbean with her husband on their sailboat.
