December 4, 2004 Doris G. Aldrich, 95, formerly of Elbridge, died Saturday in Van Duyn Home & Hospital. Born in Ogdensburg, Mrs. Aldrich moved to Elbridge in 1942. She was formerly employed at General Electric in Auburn. Mrs. Aldrich was the widow of E. Harold Aldrich, who died in 1993. She was also predeceased by four sisters and four brothers. Surviving are two sons, Richard H. (Barbara) Aldrich of Skaneateles Falls and Ronald E. (Laura) Aldrich of Marcellus; a daughter, Beverly A. Bovee III, Philip November 24, 2004 Philip Bovee III went peacefully to our Lord on Wednesday, November 24, 2004, after a courageous and exhausting battle with cancer. Phil died at home surrounded by love. A memorial service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Monday, December6, 2004, at St. Mark's Episcopal Cathedral. Officiating will be The Very Reverend M. L. Agnew, Jr., Dean of St. Mark's. An interment will follow in the summer of 2005 at the family plot, Mexico Village Cemetery, Mexico, New York. Phil was born on June 2, 1954, in Syracuse, New York. He was baptized and confirmed at Holy Trinity Church of Syracuse, NY. Phil was preceded in death by his parents, Philip Santo Bovee II and Mrs. Linda Curro Albino; his sisters, Donna Marie Bovee and Melissa Flora. Survivors include his sister, Cynthia Ann Bos and husband Neil of Shreveport, LA; his sons, Brent Cory Bovee of Syracuse, NY, Philip Santo Bovee IV of Schenectady, NY; their mother, Carla Bovee Sgroi of Syracuse, NY; three nephews and three nieces. He will be missed by his many loving cousins, aunts, uncles, family and friends throughout the country. Phil was a skilled carpenter and talented craftsman. He left examples of his meticulous designs in the various places he resided, which included upstate New York, Los Angeles and Shreveport. He will be remembered especially for his wonderful sense of humor, his encyclopedic knowledge of history and world news, his love of horses, cats, gardening, reading and his incredible desire to live life to the fullest with his family and friends even in his final days. Boycheck, Catherine December 2, 2004 Catherine Barrett Boycheck, 70, of Syracuse, died on Thursday at Crouse Hospital. She had retired after 30 years of service from the Veterans Hospital in Syracuse. She was an Air Force veteran with the 174th, was activated during the Berlin Wall Crisis, and was a member of the 174th Alumni Group. She was a life member of the American Legion Post 1276 and a member of the Ladies Auxiliary. She was the Boys State Chairperson and advisor to the Sons of the American Legion Squadron 1276. She was a communicant of St. Daniel's Church and a member of the Wisdom People and the Mary Martha Society. She was predeceased by her husband Robert who died in 1981. Rosemary was a member of the Volunteer Services of Manatee County in Florida and the Administrators of Volunteer Services in Sryacuse. She also served as the first president of the board of directors for Vera House and was a past president of the Genetaska Women's Organization. Rosemary was the first woman warden of All Saints Episcopal Church of Syracuse for 11 years. Her other various community activities include volunteering at the Manatee County Community Library. Smith, 79, of 404 Fulton Avenue, Fulton, passed away December 3, 2004, at home. He was born in the town of Granby to Steve and Evelyn (Joslin) Smith and was a lifetime resident of Fulton. Mr. Smith attended the Fulton schools and graduated from Fulton High School in 1942. He enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps upon graduation and was a gunner in B-24 and B-29 bombers in the 8th Air Corps, 383rd Bomb Group, serving in WWII. Mr. Smith was a member of State Street United Methodist Church and also attended services at First United Methodist Church in Fulton. He was employed with L.C. Smith Guns in Fulton and Sealright Corporation and retired from the U.S. Postal Service. Mr. Smith was also an avid restorer and collector of antique automobiles and was a charter member of the Oneida Lake Region Antique Automobile Club and of the Antique Automobile Club of America, organized in 1953 at Denman's Isle, Brewerton, New York. He also co-founded the Pathfinder Antique Automobile Club in Fulton in 1974. Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Jean (Mitchell) Smith of Fulton; two sons, Gary J.
