Siggy retired from New Process Gear in 2004 as a forklift operator following 33 years of ser-vice. He was a member of the UAW #624, Syracuse, NY. He was a U.S. Army veteran serving two tours of duty in Vietnam; he was a green beret serving with the special forces. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was predeceased by a sister Rebecca Brzostowski who died in 1965. Mrs. McNamara was a waitress at the former Pizzio's Restaurant for 29 years. Miller, 87, died at the Syracuse VAMC, Friday, November 25, 2004, after a long illness. He was a 1941 graduate of the New York State College of Forestry at Syracuse. He enlisted in the army in 1941 and was sent to Officer's Candidate School. He served with First Army HQ in Washington, D.C., from 1942-3, and then served as a Staff Officer for Generals Omar Bradley and Courtney Hodges. He helped in the planning of the Invasion of Normandy and became the first officer assigned to aircraft recognition and intelligence. He received the Bronze Star, and the EAME with 5 Battle Stars. Upon returning from WWII, he received his Doctorate from Cornell University in Entomology. He became a Professor and Extension Specialist in the School of Biology, Chemistry and Ecology at the State University of New York, College of Environmental Science and Forestry (ESF). He was a specialist in forest and urban insect and disease problems, especially Dutch elm disease. He was involved in medical entomology with interest in allergies and wildlife parasites. Dr. Miller was consulted and quoted in many publications and articles, including Rachel Carson's Silent Spring. He coordinated ESF's tree pest and disease service and authored a variety of NYS extension publications. He was a consultant for the Syracuse area Poison Control Center concerning "unknown" plant or animal material. He was a member of the City of Syracuse Parks and Recreation Advisory Board, the District Attorney's Advisory Council, and the Professional Advisory Committee of the County Health Department. His professional organizations included the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the Society of American Foresters, the NY Section of the Wildlife Society, the Entomological Society of America, and Lepidopterists' Society International. He was listed in the American Men and Women of Science, Leaders in American Science, Who's Who in the East, and Dictionary of International Biography. Dr. Miller is survived by his wife, Mary Virginia; daughter, Sarah Tyler Miller Goldberg; son, Howard Charles Miller Jr.; four grandchildren, Matthew and Jonathan Goldberg, and Chase and Kendra Miller; his sister, Ruth Knieser; and his niece Suzanne Ginn. Tony was born August 12, 1922, in Syracuse, NY. Tony owned his own construction company, Pascarella, Inc. Tony worked hard and played hard. He loved to play cards and he loved to cook. Staller, Dorothy December 5, 2004 Dorothy Staller, 78, of Fayetteville, died on December 5, 2004, after a long, courageous battle with lymphoma. She was born and raised in Boston, and spent most of her life in central New York. Dorothy was passionate about everything in her life.She was a professional ceramist whose work is in the Everson Museum's national ceramics permanent collection. She was a fervent gardener, adventuresome scuba diver, diligent professional ski instructor, feisty tennis player, intense political activist, concerned environmentalist, generous philanthropist, lifelong learner, talented cook and baker, and a loyal friend. Her greatest passion was for her family. She was a devoted, loving and giving daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, and aunt. She was, and is an inspiration. Wallace, 44, a resident of Schuyler Island, died Saturday evening from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was a communicant ofMost Holy Rosary Church and served his country with pride in the U.S. Navy during WWII. She was born in Richfield Springs, NY, and has been a resident of Fulton for most of her life. She was previously employed with Lastlong, Oswego, and theAmerican Woolen Company, Fulton. She and her sister Mickey Corso operated The Anne's Shoppe, Oswego. Mrs. Williams was a communicant of Holy Family Church, a member of the Holy Family Altar Rosary Society, and Holy Family Golden Age Group. She was a member of Catholic Daughters Court Pere LeMoyne, and Holy Family Bible Study. Mrs. Williams was an expert knitter and she volunteered for the Oswego Hospital knitting bonnets for the newborn babies. She also knitted several afghans that were raffled off at the Holy Family Church Bazaar. She was predeceased by her husband Joseph Williams in 1962. She is survived by her son Dr. William (Peg) Williams of Fulton; her daughter Anne (Ed) Sullivan of New York City; her sister Mickey Corso of Oswego; nine grandchildren, Christopher (Veronica) Williams, Cynthia (Walt) Ciesla, Maria (Dave) Johnson, Eileen (Steve) Richardson, Joseph (Dr. Karen) Williams, Joann (Scott) Berman, Edward Sullivan, Dr. Jamie (Laura) Sullivan, Laurie Sullivan; and 17 great-grandchildren.
