He then moved to the Albany area and opened and operated the Shopper Info Centers. December 11, 2004 Frank G. Nye, 67, of Jamesville, died at home of leukemia on Saturday. He was born in Syracuse and grew up in Delphi Falls, NY. He was a graduate of Fabius Central Schools, the Royal Academy of Barbering in Schenectady, Beaux ArtsBeauty School in Syracuse and SUNY Oswego. Mr. Nye owned and operated Village Coiffures in Jamesville and Something Special in Fayetteville. He retired as a vocational education teacher from Auburn Correctional Facility in 1994. He was a past Chairman of the Board of the Town of DeWitt Parks and Recreation Commission, was on the Board of Trustees of Jamesville Federated Church, past President of the Jamesville Cemetery Association, Chairman of the Jamesville Bicentennial Celebration and was on the Board of Trustees of the Jamesville Community Museum. Frank, an avid gardener at both his Florida and Jamesville homes, enjoyed many years of world travel with his wife, family and friends. Surviving are his wife of 47 years, the former Barbara Robinson; a daughter, Kelly E. Nye (Steven Sherman) of Jamesville; a son, Dr. Gregory F. O'Brien, Marie Rita Devoy December 10, 2004 Marie Rita Devoy O'Brien, 89, of Fairmount, passed away peacefully on December 10, 2004. Born March 3, 1915 in Syracuse, Marie graduated from St. Lucy's High School and worked as a secretary. In addition to being devoted to her family, Ma-rie was a 50 year communicant of Holy Family Church. She was an avid bridge player and long time member of Stonehedge and West Hill Bridge Clubs. Marie is predeceased by son Edward; mother and father Catherine & George Devoy; siblings: Gerald, Agnes, George, Anne, Joe, Louise and John. On July 19, 1941, Marie married her devoted husband Edward, who survives her after 63 years together. She enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, doing crossword puzzles with her husband, sitting on her deck, watching her bird feeders, basketball and golf. Roberta was a devoted mother and will be greatly missed by her loving family. She was predeceased by her first husband, Michael J. Wavercak in 1984. Survivors: her husband, George M.
