Born in Albany, he was a graduate of Mohawk Central School and attended Brockport State College. He was a member and former Chief of the Delphi Falls Fire Department. He was a longtime member of CAVAC where he formerly served as president and was recipient of numerous awards, including the Presidents Award for Excellence. Jim was a Navy veteran of World War II. Jim retired from the ICF house in Cazenovia in 1995. He coached women's softball and was an avid fan of his grandson, Adam Roosa, sports career. He was predeceased by his wife, Renee Dennison Baker, who died in 1996, and his daughter Nancy E. Baker who died in 1999. Surviving are his daughters, Janet M. Baker of Fulton, Kim M. Baker of Cazenovia, Jill A. Baker-Roosa-Burnette and son-in-law Bill of LaFayette; his son, James Nelson Baker II and daughter-in-law Rosalba, of Albuquerque, NM; eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Card, 76, of New Seneca Tnpk., Skaneateles, died Monday, December 13, 2004. A life-resident of Skaneateles he was a dairy farmer and owned and operated Robert S. Born in Syracuse, he served with the Company D 405th Infantry of the U.S. Army during WWII. He received the WWII Victory Medal, European African Mid-dle Eastern Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. He worked at General Electric for 37 years, retiring in 1980. Joseph was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church and a member of Pheasants Unlimited in Canastota. He was an avid fisherman and hunter. He will always be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. Lucille was born in Syracuse, attended St. Lucy's School and Vocational High School. She worked as a waitress for 35years and since 1995 worked as a school bus driver for Liverpool Central School District Transportation Department. Lucille was a communicant of St. Vincent DePaul Church. She was a loving mother, very energetic and full of life. She loved camping, traveling, gardening, being with friends and family and lived life to the fullest. Mahan, Sister Maris Stella Mahan, CSJ December 12, 2004 Sister Maris Stella Mahan, CSJ, the former Agnes Abina Mahan, died on Sunday, December 12, 2004, at St. Joseph's Provincial House, Latham, NY. Sister was born in Syracuse, New York, the daughter of the late Christopher and and Ellen McCauliffe Mahan. She was in the 77th year of her life as a Sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Sister Maris was a graduate of St. Lucy's School, Syracuse, and received Bachelor's and Master's degrees in history from the College of Saint Rose, Albany. Sister taught in schools of the Diocese of Albany and Syracuse, including Blessed Sacrament, Johnson City, and Catholic Central High School, Troy. She served as principal at St. Patrick's, Syracuse, and St. Columba's, Schenectady. Upon retirement from the classroom, Sister used her background in history while working in the archives of the Albany Province of her community. Sister Maris is survived by several nieces, nephews and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. December 9, 2004 Michael John Marinelli, 77, of Mattydale, passed away at home Thursday, December 9. A life-long resident of Syracuse, he had been employed by Onondaga County as Assistant Director of the Department of Buildings and Grounds. Formany years earlier he had held the position of Director of Central Services. After retirement, he and wife Patricia divided their time between Henderson Harbor on Lake Ontario and Hutchison Island, Florida. Mike was an accomplished fisherman and charter captain; a skilled carpenter and a long-time Republican supporter, known for his expertise in "getting out the vote." Anavid golfer holding 20 women's club championships, she was a member of the Syracuse Women's District Golf Association where she served as president from 1978 to 1979, and district champion in 1975. She was a member of the Onondaga Golf and Country Club and the Cazenovia Club. She was active in the Greater Cazenovia Area Chamber of Commerce. He was a life-resident of Syracuse. He was a graduate of Eastwood High School. He retired from General Motors Corporation in 1992 as a stationary engineer in the powerhouse. He was an ar-my veteran of WWII in the pacific theater serving on Luzon Philippines, Guam, Saipan and Japan. He was a member of the American Legion Pulaski Post #1650, John Venditti Post #1, Italian American War Veterans, Polish American Citizens Club and United Auto Workers local 854. He was a lifelong communicant of Transfiguration Church and a member of its Holy Name Society and Ushers Club. His wife, Viola, died in 1999 and his daughter, Marie Kulas died 1999. He is survived by a son, John Frances (Marilyn) Potega, of Syracuse; two grandchildren, John Joseph Potega and Lauren Marie Kulas. Terzini, Amelio "Chops" December 13, 2004 Amelio "Chops" Terzini, 83, of Syracuse, passed away Monday in Michigan while visiting his daughter. Amelio was born in Rome, NY to the late Fortunato and Adeline Terzini and lived in Syracuse most of his life. He retired from GE after 40 yearsas a millwright. Mr. Terzini was a communicant of St. Daniel's Church, a member of the musicians union, a member of the SEIU in the sports division and worked at the NY State Fair, Onondaga County War Memorial and Macarthur Stadium for many years. Amelio was a US WWII Army Veteran. Predeceased by his two brothers, Louis and Pat Terzini, and his sister, Dora Piscitell.
