December 10, 2004 Norman V. Bezio, Jr., age 63 of Pulaski, died December 10 in Oswego. He was born June 26, 1941 in Plattsburgh, son of Norman V. and Violet Thompson Bezio. He served in the US Navy aboard the USS Kitty Hawk. Surviving are his wife, Shirley; one son, Richard H. Bezio; four daughters, Toni Marie Sadowski, Amy Evans, Kimberly Hill and Michele Claflin; his step-mother, Ruth Sawyer Bezio Sweeney, of Castorland; two brothers, Donald Sawyer, Bernard Bezio; four sisters, Sherry Heikenan of CA, Linda Souder of AK, Violet Moesch of Plattsburgh, Peggy Adams of Lowville, and several grandchildren. Coleman, Rosemary (Pasquale) Coleman December 10, 2004 Rosemary Coleman recently passed away in Florida. She was a lifelong resident of Syracuse, growing up on the North side and attended Percy Hughes School. She worked for General Electric in Liverpool for many years and during the 1940's and 1950's was a singer in many of Syracuse's local night clubs. She is survived by her husband, Francis (Frank); a son, John Katronis both of Florida; two sisters, Jenny (Jane) Lostumbo and Margaret Corsello both of Syracuse, and several nieces and nephews. There are no calling hours and burial was private in Florida. There will be a celebration mass on Saturday, December 18 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Peter's Church, James St., Syracuse, NY. Her husband, Henry A. Cushing predeceased her. She retired in 1975 from the Xray department at Community Hospital to assist her life companion, Atty. George Howlett. Griffith, Aemillius E. "Mel" December 16, 2004 Aemillius E. "Mel" Griffith, 89, of 100 Flume Rd., Manlius, went to be with the Lord on Thursday at his home. Born in Oriskany Falls, Mr. Griffith was a resident of Kirkville 50 years. For 20 years he and his wife spent their winters in Lady Lake, FL.He was a truck driver for 32 years with the Syracuse Rendering Co. retiring in 1978. Mr. Griffith was a WWII veteran serving in China-Burma and India as an Ordinance Specialist with the Army-Air Force. He was a member of the North Syracuse Baptist Church. He was predeceased by his wife, Helen E., who died February 24, 2004. Surviving are his daughters, Pamela K. (Joe) Dulin of North Syracuse and Corrine R. She was born in Fabius and retired in 1968 after 42 years as a math teacher at Glen Cove, L.I. During WWII, she taught Literacy to immigrants. Ms. Keeney was a graduate of Cazenovia Seminary, Syracuse University in 1925 with honors and received her masters degree from Columbia University, was a member of Alpha Xi Delta Sorority, and the New York State Retired Teachers Association. She was a member of the Cuyler United Methodist Church and its U.M.W., and the Cuyler and Cortland County Historical Societies. Surviving: Her sister-in-law, Marian Keeney of Cuyler; nieces, Mary Jo Chase of Lafayette, Nancy Krager of Castle Creek, Margaret Pratt of North Syracuse; nephew, Richard (Barbara) Keeney of Cuyler; several great and great-great-nieces and nephews. McIntyre, 58, of 195 Parkside Ave., departed this life on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at University Hospital after a short illness. He was born in Syracuse to the late Arthur and Shirley McIntyre. He was formerly a Karate instructor and taught people computers in their homes. He retired January 10, 2004 from Syracuse Housing Authority after 30 years of service. Mr. Mondo served in the Normandy Invasion with the US Army. Mr. Mondo owned and operated Mondo's Bakery on Taft Rd. for more than35 years before retiring at the age of 65. He was predeceased by two brothers and a sister. Surviving are his wife of 58 years, the former, Angela Tassone; a daughter, Michelle R. Mondo of Liverpool; and a son, Christian D. Mr. Schwartz was always employed in the insurance industry. In 1998he retired as a CSEA retirement councilor. He was a Boy Scout Leader for 39 years Hiawatha Council Troops 150, 157, and 127. He received the BSA Silver Beaver Award in 1973 and was a Vigil Member of the Order of the Arrow. He was predeceased by his wife, the former Mary Ann Buckley July 27, 1978 and his mother, Julia Whalen August 8, 1997. Stevenson, 92, Fair Haven resident, passed away on Thursday, December 16, 2004. Marjorie will be missed by a son, Richard (Joyce) Hilton; grandchildren, Monique (Paul) Dickerson, Michele (Jim) Sherman, Marnie (Kyle) Meddaugh, Susan (Paul) Barnett, Rick (Sis) Cole, Dawn (Mark) Mein, Ken (Holly) Cole; and several great-grandchildren; a sister, Freda Guthrie of Dade City, FL and Barbara Burke, of Red Creek. She then went to Rochester business college and upon graduating, she accepted a position as secretary for the former Hadcock Motors of Fair Haven. She then went to Lincoln First Bank in Fair Haven as head teller where she retired in 1975. Marjorie spent her final days with special friends and caregivers at the MeadowBrook Manor in Hannibal, where she will be missed by many. She retired in 1991 from a career in nursing at several nursing homes. She was a communicant of St. Rose of LimaChurch and spent summers camping and boating. Her husband Jay H. Ward predeceased her on November 8, 1989. He was born August 3, 1921 in New York City. He was the founder and president of Warner National Advertising Agency for 34 years. He also foundedand was president of Azek Worldwide, Inc., a manufacturer of medical equipment. He attended Pratt Institute, Brooklyn Museum School of Art, and Syracuse University. Stan was a veteran of WWII, as an army training officer, 2nd Lieutenant. His upbringing was on Long Island and New York City. Early in his career, he was employed at Time & Life, New York City. His zest for the salt water never left him, even though he lived in and around Syracuse for the past sixty years. Stan also had a passion for new ideas and was granted a patent for his pole design for the handicapped. Stan was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church in Camillus. He is survived by four sons, John P. Warner, Howard A. Warner and his wife, Alita of Baldwinsville, Christopher A. Warner and his wife, Sandra of Memphis, his eldest, Terry P. Warner with Anita of Port Byron; his one daughter, Mary A. Carrington resides in Baldwinsville; a close friend of many years, Carmela M. Dalton of Camillus. He has six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and a large number of nieces and nephews.
