"Larry" Albanese December 28, 2004 Laurence "Larry" J. Albanese, 58, of Skaneateles, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday. Born in Syracuse, he was a life resident of the Syracuse area. Mr. Albanese served in the U.S. Air Force and received the Vietnam Service Medal. Larry worked atthe Onondaga County Sheriff's Department in the Custody Department as rank of Captain for 33 years, receiving the medal of distinction, and was also a program director. His parents, Lawrence and Mary Albanese, predeceased him. Castleman Sr., Richard Roger Castleman, Sr. December 28, 2004 Richard Roger Castleman, Sr., 83 of Tucson, formerly of Syracuse, NY and Denver, CO, passed away December 28, 2004. He was born in Syracuse on November 13, 1921 and later married Laura Recor on April 7, 1945. During WWII, Richard served with the US Army Air Corps. In 1969 he and his wife moved the family to Denver, CO, where he was employed by Coors Brewing Co. before retiring in 1980. He is survived by his wife, Laura; his children, Marsha (Rod) Schultz of Custer, SD; Richard Roger (Joanne) Castleman, Jr., and Janice (Paul) Clayton of Aurora, CO. Lamprecht, Judith H. December 24, 2004 Judith "Judy" Heltman Lamprecht, 86, of Delmar, NY, died Friday, December 24, 2004, at St. Peter's Hospital. Born in Syracuse, NY, on February 12, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Syracuse University Professor Harry J. Heltman and the late Helen (Caflisch) Heltman of Syracuse. She was raised in Syracuse and was educated at the Northfield School and Syracuse University, where she received a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and a Master of Arts in English Literature. While studying for her MA, she worked at Syracuse radio station WOLF, where she met her future husband, Joseph Lamprecht Jr. Upon completing her MA, she filled a maternity leave teaching vacancy in Cooperstown. After she married, Judy was employed by Syracuse University, first as a secretary and then as a teacher of report writing to Army Air Corps cadets. Her husband was employed by the New York Telephone Company, which required them to move eight times, before settling in Delmar, where she lived for 35 years. Judy used her voice and dramatic talents, combined with extensive professional training, to direct variety shows for the Delmar Progress Club, the Delmar Reformed Church, several amateur theater companies, Childs Hospital and many social groups. She sang in many church choirs, played piano whenever needed and gave piano lessons for many years. As a Sigma Kappa, she was a longstanding member of the Albany Pan-Hellenic Association, serving as president several times, and for many years she delivered "Meals on Wheels". Judy is survived by her husband of nearly 63 years, Joseph Lamprecht Jr. of Delmar; a sister, Rebecca Heltman Griffiths of Rochester, NY; her son, Jeremy Lamprecht of Jackson Hts., NY; her daughter, Cynthia Lamprecht Wetzell of Minneapolis, MN; six grandchildren, Jacqueline Lamprecht Farley of Ramsey, NJ, Carly Lamprecht Immen of Farmingdale, NJ, Ethan Wetzell of Minneapolis, MN, Galen Wetzell of Minneapolis, MN, Dustin Lamprecht of Jackson Hts., NY, Travis Lamprecht of Jackson Hts., NY; and four great-granddaughters, Aislinn Farley, Kaelin Farley, Charlotte Immen and Mary Catherine Immen.
