October 7, 2004 in St. Joseph's Hospital & Health Center, Syracuse, New York.
He is survived by his wife, Ida; two daughters, Deneen Stackpoole of
Brewerton, NY, Michele Fox ofBrewerton, NY; two sons, Richard of Hastings, NY,
Vincent of Central Square, NY; four grandchildren. Services were held Monday

Conley, Geraldine H.   
October 11, 2004 Geraldine H. Conley, 83, of Baldwinsville, died Monday. Born
in Astoria, Long Island, she was employed as an executive secretary for
Bigelow Carpet Company in Manhattan for many years. Mrs. Conley was a
communicant of St. Mary's Church. She was predeceased by her husband Elwood
J., who died in 1995. She is survived by her sisters, Catherine Rehwinkel of
Liverpool and Lillian Helgans of Sarasota, FL; three nieces; six nephews; and
numerous grand-nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, October
16, 2004, 9:45 a.m., from Maurer Funeral Home Moyers Corners and 10:30 a.m. in
St. Mary's Church, Baldwinsville. Burial will be in Hill Crest Cemetery,
Federalsburg, Maryland, at a later date. Calling hours will be Friday, October
15, 2004, 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home, 3541 Route 31, Baldwinsville.

DeLorenzo Sr., John J.   
October 11, 2004 John J. DeLorenzo Sr., 84, of VanDuyn, died Monday. Born in
Syracuse, he was a graduate of Solvay High School and served in the Army Air
Corps during WW II. Mr. DeLorenzo was the owner of Gafney Press and played for
the Syracuse Cyclones and was in Senior World Series Tournaments. He was a
member of the Senior Citizens 75 Year and Older Softball World Series
Champions in 2000. He was a lifetime member of the VFW, Delphi and Moose
Clubs. He was also a communicant of Holy Family Church. He was predeceased by
his wife Veronica M. DeLorenzo in 1989. Survivors: his sons, John J. "Skip"
(Nancy) DeLorenzo Jr. of Syracuse, and William E. DeLorenzo of Florida; two
grandchildren, Beth and Brian DeLorenzo. Services 9:30 a.m. Friday at the
Tindall Funeral Home and 10 a.m. in Holy Family Church. Burial in St. Mary's

October 11, 2004 Edward G. Dunn, 60, of Maple St., Black River, died Monday.
He was born in Fulton, and was a 1961 graduate of J.C. Birdlebough High
School, Phoenix. Mr. Dunn was a shop foreman for AM Wood Splitter for several
years, retiring in 1994. He was a parishioner at St. Paul's Catholic Church,
Black River; member Black River Vol. Fire Dept.; 35-year member Mohegan Pond
Club, Tupper Lake; C.N.Y. Rod and Gun Club, Phoenix; Army National Guard of NY
1964 to 1967. Predeceased by his father, George W. Dunn, in 1994. Surviving
are his wife, Kathryn Rowland Dunn; his daughter, Dr. Patricia Dunn Gutsche
(Dr. Stewart Gutsche) of Paoli, PA; sons, Dr. Michael Dunn of Marathon, FL,
Dr. Ryan Dunn of Philadelphia, PA; his mother, Frieda Dunn of Phoenix, NY;

Houser, Dorothy M. Greeley   
Houser October 11, 2004 Dorothy M. Greeley Houser, 92, of Syracuse, passed
away peacefully Monday. Born in Syracuse she was a life-resident and a
communicant of St. Daniel's Church, a member of the Wisdom People at the
church and an auxiliary member of theVFW Post 3146. Mrs. Houser retired from
Merchant Mutual Insurance Co. where she worked for 28 years. Her husband Frank
died in 1972. Survivors: Her sons, Lee (Beverly) Houser and Gary M. Houser
both of Syracuse; sister, Veronica Barcza of Syracuse; seven grandchildren; 15
great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Services: Calling hours

Jackson, Lessie B.   
October 9, 2004 Lessie B. Jackson, 79, of Syracuse, passed away peacefully
Saturday. Born in Tuskegee, Alabama she was a resident of Syracuse for 60
years. Lessie retired from General Electric after 39 years. She was a member
of the Bethany Baptist Church, the church choir and Circle 5. Her husband,
Jessie Wright died in 2000 and her daughter, Verdell Harison in 1977.
Survivors: Her son, Charlie W. (Doris) Jackson, Sr., of Syracuse; sister, Alma
(Eddie) Heard of Louisville, KT; brothers, Ludie (Lucille) Jackson of
Syracuse, NY, Curtis Jackson of Florence, AL, Harold (Rose) Jackson of Tampa,
FL, and Clarence Jackson of Miami, FL; nine grandchildren; and ten

October 11, 2004 Lillian Forbes Lont, 87, formerly of Canal Road, Memphis
entered into rest with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Monday, October
11, 2004 at the Auburn home of her daughter, Kathryn Bower. Born in Hannibal,
Mrs. Lont lived in Memphis for several years before moving to Auburn. She was
a 1936 graduate of Cato High School. She was member of the First Baptist
Church of Memphis where she served as a Sunday School teacher. She was the
widow of Wallace M. Lont who died in 1981. Surviving are her children, Dr.
Wallace E. (Nancy) Lont of Winter Haven, FL, Warren (Nancy) Lont of Great
Bend, PA, Dr. Frederick (Hope) Lont of Camillus, Kenneth (Ellen) Lont of
Jensen Beach, FL, Kathryn (Dale) Bower of Auburn, Leon (Jeanine) Phillips of
Carlisle, PA, Sherrii (Alex) McCombie of Bridgeport and Tina (Ken) Harvey of
Cincinnatus; three sisters, Mary Ellen Hawk of Murfreesboro, TN, Hilda Ripley
of Moravia, and Rosemond (Robert) Myers of Cato; 10 grandchildren; four

Community General Hospital. Born in the Bronx, he resided in Bellerose,
Queens, NY, until moving to Marcellus in 1988. He was the owner of Spring Bay
Oil Co. Survivors: his beloved wife of 45 years, the former Patricia Petrelli;
two daughters, Patricia Lucchetti of N. Syracuse and Deborah Aji of Marcellus;
son, Vito W. Lucchetti Jr. of Manhattan; two sisters, Joan Serrano of Alabama
and Joyce Bonavich of Chicago; two brothers, Charles of Islip, NY, and Richard
of Oneonta; 11 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Services: 9 a.m.

October 7, 2004 Barbara Jean Major, 50, of Liverpool, passed away Thursday in
New Jersey. She was born in Arteisa, CA. Barbara was an Assistant Manager for
Project Team with Eckerd Drugs. Surviving are her father, Steven Major of CA;
her mother, Shirley Anne Nibarger of IN; two sisters, Carol Anne Grass, Desra
Rene Rhodes; three brothers, Stephen John Major, David Robert Nibarger and
Tyson Wade Nibarger all of IN; an uncle and aunt Kenney and Diane Deeth of CA.

Born in Bronx, NY, she was an examiner for a dress manufacturer in Bronx. She
attended St. Mary's Church in Jamesville. She is survived by two sisters,
Antoinette Tomarchio of Long Island and Celeste Masullo of Nedrow; several
nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother Anthony. Services

unexpectedly at home. Born in Syracuse November 27, 1945, to Robert and
Florence Stoffel, she graduated from Vocational High School. Janet was a
member of the Syracuse Turners, Liver-pool Elks Lodge #2348, and was a past
Girl Scout Leader. She was employed at Health South. Janet was predeceased by
her parents, Robert (1992) and Florence (1983). Survived by daughter, Lorielle
(Kevin) Corkran of Liverpool; son, MASA Stephen M. Henry with the U.S. Navy in
Japan; two brothers, Raymond R. (Paul) Stoffel of Liverpool, James F. Stoffel
of Kirkville; four sisters, Lorraine M. (Thomas) Stillitano of East Syracuse,
Suzanne S. (Mark) Nettnin of Liverpool, Roberta L. (Andrew) Kessler of DeWitt,
Jean A. (Michael) Waldby of North Syracuse; a sister-in-law, Melinda Stoffel
of Kirkville; two grandchildren, David J. Corkran and Dylan R. Corkran; seven
nieces; four nephews; the Koll family who loved her as "Grandma Ours"; as well

retired from Magnavox of Manlius. She is survived by her daughters, Anita
Wunders of E. Syracuse, Sheila Recore of Lakeport; son, Roy Pitts of
Chittenango; sister, Alice Meagher of Manlius; eight grandchildren; 23
great-granchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Surviving are her husband, Harold W. Reeves of 53 years; sons, Harold Jr. of
Baldwinsville, Michael of Cato, Wayne Reeves of Fulton; brother, John Sobles
of E. Syracuse; sisters, Dot Allen of Mattydale, Nellie Champion of
Baldwinsville, Bertha Sobles and Jerry Sobles both of Syracuse; eight

October 9, 2004 Richard L. Reil, 67, passed away at home surrounded by his
family on Saturday after a long illness. He was a former employee of Mead
Containers in Camillus. Richard was past President of Local 1430 United
Paperworkers Union. Richard is survived by his wife of 44 years, Jeanette
(Coffey) Reil. He is survived by his son, Richard Reil of Liverpool; two
daughters, Candy Reil of Liverpool and Rae Kelsey of Fulton; son-in-law,
Lester Kelsey of Fulton; five grandchildren, Nicholas, Jason, Jaime, and
Christopher Kelsey of Fulton and Jaclyn Reil of Liverpool; three brothers,
John Reil of Los Altos, CA, Amos Reil of Newton Falls, NY, and Lawrence Reil
of East Syracuse; and a sister, Doris Greene of East Syracuse. Services will
be held at Saint Huberts Church, Star Lake, NY on Thursday, October 14 at 1:30
p.m.

Schwitter, Robert J.   
October 12, 2004 Robert J. Schwitter, 76, of 1650 Fyler Rd., Chittenango, died
Tuesday at Crouse Hospital. Born in Oswego, Mr. Schwitter was a resident of
Chittenango 49 years. Mr. Schwitter was a self-employed Electrician,
establishing Schwitter Electric in 1963. He was previously an Electrician with
Paul Brossus Co. and Morgan Badgley Co. He attended the First Baptist Church
of Chittenango. Mr. Schwitter was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War and
was a life-member of the WM. Cain American Legion Post 1287 and a member of
the Chittenango Veteran of Foreign Wars Post. He was also a member of the
Swiss Social Club and the Onondaga Co. Electrical Contractors Association. He
was a longtime volunteer with the Sullivan Food Cupboard. Surviving are his
wife of 51 years, the former, Barbara J. Himes; a son, Robert B. (Lauri) of
Canastota; four daughters, Karen (Joseph) Turk of Chittenango, Lynn (Charles)
Husvar of North Tonawanda, Susan (Ron) Cartner of Syracuse and Kristina (Jon)
Kinney of Munnsville; three brothers, James, John and Carl all of Oswego; six
sisters, Mary Jones of Fulton, Kathern Creighton, Alice Ketchum, Janet Engle,
Barbara Lisk, Doris Schwitter all of Oswego and Mildred Durfee of Chittenango,
and 10 grandchildren. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Friday at the G.F.

was the daughter of Leonard and Lula Brundige Sperry. She is survived by one

Sternberg, Jack J.   
September 30, 2004 Jack J. Sternberg, 94, of the Cunningham at Loretto of
Syracuse, passed from this life on Thursday, September 30, 2004, to be with
the Lord and Savior. Jack, with his family in attendance, died peacefully. He
was predeceased by his wife Isabel Stevens Sternberg in the year 2000.
Survivors: sister, Reatha J. Walton of Syracuse; brother, Harold L. Sternberg
of Richland; several nieces and nephews. He lived in Parish and graduated from
Parish High School. He worked for Strickland Motors as an auto mechanic and
service manager for several years, then moved on to building and trades,
becoming a cabinet maker. He and his wife lived in Baldwinsville, and upon
retirement, resided in Zephyrhills, Florida. From Florida, they traveled
extensively throughout the U.S.A. Jack was an avid fisherman and hunter. His
hobbies were photography and jewelry making. He was an inspiration to all of
us. Memorial services will be 1 p.m. Saturday, October 16, 2004, from the Hope
Presbyterian Church, 4962 West Seneca Turnpike, Syracuse, NY. His ashes will
be placed with his wife at the Mexico Village Cemetery at a later date.
Donations may be made to the church or any charity. Arrangements are in care
of Harter Funeral Home, Mexico, NY.
