Robert Elmer Davies, retired United States Army Reserved, died Wednesday at SunBridge for Mount Olive. A native of Syracuse, NY, Lt. Col. Davies was the son of the late John Guy Davies and Flora Hedglon Davies and was married to the late Harriette Gene Ferguson Davies. He retired from the United States Army Reserve and served his country during World War II. During WWII she served in the WAACs in New Guinea and in the Philippines as a code-decoder. Dreisbach, Thomas O. October 14, 2004 Thomas O. Dreisbach, 68, of Cazenovia, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, October 14. He was born in West Pittston, Pennsylvania, and resided in Cazenovia for nearly 38 years. He graduated from Wilkes College in 1957. Aftergraduation he entered the pharmaceutical field. He retired in 1994 as an executive sales manager at Merck. He was one of the early members of Eastern Hills Bible Church in Manlius and served several terms as an elder. More recently he served both on the Town Board and as Town Supervisor for Cazenovia. He will be remembered for his selfless service to others. Surviving are his fiancee, Efriede Dietrich; daughter, Jan Elizabeth Dreisbach, son Thomas Jr. (Sarah); grandchildren, Emily Wright Dreisbach and Alexander Yost Dreisbach; and brother Edward A. Hanlon, Lillian October 5, 2004 Lillian Hanlon, 78, of Henderson, NV, passed away quietly at her home October 5, 2004, surrounded by her loved ones. She had grown up and resided in Syracuse until moving to Henderson 21 years ago. She raised six sons and was a consummatesports mom, coaching and scoring for Little League games and cheering for the wrestling and other scholastic teams her sons participated on. Lillian held various jobs during her child-rearing years, from waitressing to factory worker to home health aide. Her time being a home health aide made an indelible impression on her and helped her make her career decision clear. After moving to Henderson in 1983, Lillian went to work for one of the first adult daycare centers in the country, the Hollyhock Center in North Las Vegas. There she found new people to care for. Both clients and staff loved her, and her "extended" family there will miss her. Lillian worked there full-time until August. She was predeceased by her first husband, Louis Hanlon, in 1989 and her second husband, Joe Rolince, in 1992. Lillian is survived by six sons: Keith Hanlon of Breseport, NY; Louis Hanlon of Syracuse; Larry Hanlon of Camillus; Patrick Hanlon of Port Orange, FL; Grant Hanlon of Marcellus; and Matthew Hanlon of Pensacola, FL; 11 grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lester Darrow of Virginia Beach and Michael Darrow of Syracuse. Kingsley, 66, of 115 Roxbury Rd., died peacefully at his residence Thursday, October 14, 2004, following a coronary attack. Born in Oneida Castle on January 3, 1938, he was the son of Burton F. and Ethel Matteson Kingsley. A life-long resident of the area, Mr. Kingsley graduated from Oneida High School, class of 1956. He married Claudia Aronson in DeWitt on October 18, 1961. Mrs. Kingsley died July 12, 2000. Prior to his retirement in 1999, Mr. Kingsley was employed as an inspector with Carrier Corporation for 39 years. He served in the United States Navy from 1955-1958. Mr. Kingsley was very athletic and enjoyed bowling, gardening, traveling camping, nature and played softball in church leagues. He loved animals and was known to be patient and helpful to others. Mr. Kingsley was a very loving, devoted and kind husband, father and friend. He was a member of the Sheet Metal Workers International, Local 529, and was of the Christian faith. Surviving are three sons and three daughters-in-law: Marc E. and Sherrie Kingsley of Cherry Valley; Jeff S. and Teresa Kingsley of Dallas, TX; and Alan W. and Georgia Kingsley, who are currently stationed in Germany with the United States Air Force; loving companion, Phyllis Lighthall of Oneida; two brothers and two sisters-in-law, Donald and Valarie Kingsley of Falmouth, MA, and Lucius and Gayle Kingsley of Fairport; one sister, Joan Kingsley of Baldwinsville; and several nieces and nephews. She retired in 1973 after 22 years as an assembler for Allied Signal Corp. in Syracuse and also worked part-time as a bartender for the Punkin-Knapp Bar & Restaurant in Mattydale in the 1940s. Gladys was a member of the Ladies Auxiliaries of the V.F.W. Post 3146, the American Legion Post 1832 and the Third Ward Men's Club, all in Mattydale. She was predeceased by two husbands, James Ackerson in 1973 and Paul Lippert in 1992, and two children, Robert Ackerson and Leila Sass, both in 2002. Toscano, "Joe Tux," 78, of Syracuse and Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2004, in Naples. Joe was a very accomplished individual, both personally and professionally. A native and life resident of Syracuse, heowned and operated the renowned Toscano's Formal Wear, Inc., on North Salina Street (and in the former Fayetteville Mall) for over 40 years. Joe was a proud World War II veteran, serving with the Navy Seabees 20th Construction Battalion. He was an alumnus of Syracuse University and Christian Brothers Academy, and he was a former member of the Northside Business Association and Lakeshore Yacht and Country Club. Joe possessed an incredible natural talent for carpentry and working with his hands in any artistic medium. He was a great golfer and a skilled boater, with an immense love for the water. He excelled at and perfected anything he pursued. Joe is perhaps best remembered for his extraordinary natural charm and wit. He had an unusual ability to "light up" any room, bringing positive energy and good humor to any situation he encountered. What Joe cherished most were gatherings and good times with his many, many friends and loved ones. He will be forever loved and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. He is survived by his wife, Naomi Williams of Syracuse, NY; two sons, Shedrick (Marquita) Williams and Jaymar Williams, both of Syracuse, NY; one daughter, Lakeisha (Vershaun) Terry of Syracuse, NY; eight sisters; five brothers; four sisters-in-law; five brothers-in-law; five grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. She retired from the New York State Department of Labor and was a volunteer for many years at the Ida Benderson Senior Center, Syracuse, NY. She was formerly of DeWitt, NY. She was preceded in death by her husband Joseph Stanley Zdan. She is survived by two daughters, Carol Zdan of New Bern and Arlene Champlin and husband Peter of New Bern; four brothers, Walter Scibior of Bridgeport, NY, Matthew Scibior of Whitesboro, NY, Henry Scibior of New York Mills, NY, and Frank Scibior of California; one sister, Stephanie Lanski of Liverpool, NY; several nieces and nephews.
