She graduated from North Syracuse High School and attended classesat University College. She worked for over 36 years at SUNY Upstate Medical University as a residency coordinator for orthopedic surgery and was also a senior administrative assistant. October 16, 2004 Suzanne Lacy Bitz, loving wife and devoted mother, passed away on Saturday. She was born March 5, 1919, in Liverpool, NY, the daughter of Leontine Ferris Lacy and Lucius Lacy. Suzanne married her high school sweetheart, Clarence Bitz, on September 8, 1937. During her life, Sue raised four children, helped run a family farm and later partnered with Clarence in Bitz Funeral Home. She assisted the Cleveland Fire Department and Ambulance Service for many years by receiving emergency calls and dispatching volunteers. Sue was a member of St. Mary's Church in Cleveland. Among her many talents, Sue was an accomplished artist. Many of her oil paintings are now hanging and treasured in the homes of people who loved her. Her gentle and caring nature was always evident in her smile. Sue was predeceased by her daughter Judith Ann Hogan in 1993 and her husband Clarence in 1999. She is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Timothy and Mavis Bitz of Libby, Montana, and Clarence Thomas and Dorkas Bitz of Constantia, NY; a daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Thomas Geer of Jewell, NY; a sister, Gene of Florida; a brother, Lucius of California; two sisters-in-law, Rose Bitz of Cleveland and Helen Murphy of New Jersey; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren. Dreisbach, 68, of Cazenovia, passed away suddenly at home on Thursday, October 14. He was born in West Pittston, Pennsylvania, and resided in Cazenovia for nearly 38 years. He graduated from Wilkes College in 1957. Aftergraduation he entered the pharmaceutical field. He retired in 1994 as an executive sales manager at Merck. He was one of the early members of Eastern Hills Bible Church in Manlius and served several terms as an elder. More recently he served both on the Town Board and as Town Supervisor for Cazenovia. He will be remembered for his selfless service to others. Surviving are his fiancee, Efriede Dietrich; daughter, Jan Elizabeth Dreisbach, son Thomas Jr. (Sarah); grandchildren, Emily Wright Dreisbach and Alexander Yost Dreisbach; and brother Edward A. Dreisbach. His wife, Janet Dreisbach, predeceased him. She was born in Carthage, a daughter of Clarence and Dorothy Greenfield Virkler, and spent most of her life in Oswegatchie, NY. She for-merly worked at Clifton-Fine Central School and as a dental hygienist in Syracuse. She was a 50-year member of the Oswegatchie chapter #194 of the Order of the Eastern Star, a former member of First Baptist Church of Oswegatchie and an active member of Centerville Court. He served as a chief machinist's mate with the Merchant Marine in the Pacific Theater during WWII. He graduated from LafayetteCollege in Easton, PA, in 1947 with a B.S. in mechanical engineering. Joe worked as a resident engineer with Chrysler Corp-New Process Gear for over 35 years, retiring in 1988. He was a member of Moose Lodge #625, American Legion Post #1540, SAE International and the Camillus Elks Lodge #2367. He was predeceased by his wife Cornelia in 1994. Born in Potsdam, Mr. Sweet was a 33-year resident of Chittenango. Mr. Sweet was employed as a printer at the former Estabrook Printing Co. in Syracuse for 37 years, retiring in 1989. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Chittenango. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and was a member of the Chittenango VFW Post 8829. He was also a member of the GCIU (Graphic Arts Union) Local 284. Surviving are his wife of 33 years, the former Joan A. Watkins; two stepsons, Darrell Turk of Syracuse and Bernard Root of Fayetteville; two stepdaughters, Deborah Petrie of Fulton and Karen Allen of Whitesboro; and nine stepgrandchildren.
