Blasier, 56, 1 Pinetree Lane, died Friday at his residence, following a brief illness of two months. Born in Syracuse, on August 17, 1948, he was the son of Deforest and Dorothy Richardson Blasier. A lifelong resident of Central New York, Mr. Blasier was educated in Syracuse schools and served with the United States Army during the Viet Nam War era. Surviving are two sons, Daniel E. Blasier and his fiancee, Barbara Page of Munnsville and Justin J. Blasier of Morrisville; one daughter and son-in-law, Virginia L. and Kevin Kinsella of Solvay; his former wife, Estella Conner of Griffin, Georgia; two brothers, Deforest Blasier of Otisco and Mark Blasier of Syracuse; four sisters, Pamela Montague of Baldwinsville, Valarie Waite of Erieville, Peggy Powers of Scriba, and Connie Jones of Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Kyle, Kevin and Eric Kinsella and Shae Blasier; and several nieces and nephews. Born in Syracuse, he graduated from Central High School and was a material control planner for Carrier Corp. He was a communicant of St. Rose of Lima Church, past president of thePastime Athletic Club where he was sportsman of the year in 1979. He was an avid SU fan and a member of the Orange Pack where he was named most valuable Orange Packer in 1996. He served his country with pride in the US Air Force. Born in Lycoming, he resided in Mallory for 70 years. Mr. Fox retired as a State Police Investigator in Fulton. He was a former member of the N.Y.S.P. Association and a member of theNew York State Police P.B.A., Fraternal Order of Police, the Hastings V.F.W. Post #8823 and the Central Square Lodge #0622 F.&A.M. He and his son, David owned and operated Fox's Logging. He was a U.S. Navy Veteran of WWII. Godkin, Dora Dievendorf October 18, 2004 Dora Dievendorf Godkin, 86, of Clyde, went to be with the Lord on Monday, October 18, 2004 surrounded by her loving family. Born in Pennellville, she had resided in the Rose-Clyde areas. She retired in 1988 from Parker-Hannifin Corporation, Clyde, with over 30 years of service. Dora was loved and loved others and her passing will be felt by many. Mrs. Godkin was predeceased by her son, Harold (Pete) W. Grygiel, David Paul and Rosemary Rosemary Grygiel October 17, 2004 David Paul Grygiel, 44 and his wife, Rosemary (nee O'Brien) Grygiel, 39 of 7 Lakeview Drive, Lansing, New York, died suddenly on Sunday afternoon, October 17, 2004 in Baltimore, Maryland. They died from injuries sustained in a motorcyle accident. David was born September 12, 1960 in Syracuse, New York, son of Eloise Hunter of Lansing, NY and the late William Grygiel, Jr. He was employed as a Pilot for Airborne Express based in Wilmington, Ohio. Rosemary was born February 8, 1965 in Daytona Beach, Florida, daughter of Daniel O'Brien of Daytona Beach Florida and Rosemary (nee Gerster) Sanders of Tillsonburg, Ontario. She was the manager of The Boatyard Grill, Ithaca, NY. They are both survived by their children, Demick O'Brien, a student at Syracuse University, Kayla and Alyson Grygiel of Lansing. In addition to his mother and children, David is survived by a brother, William (Liana) Grygiel, III of Baldwinsville, NY; a sister, Dawn (William) Tsetseranos of West Dover, VT; his paternal grandfather, William Grygiel, Sr.; several aunts, uncles and cousins. Born January 26, 1942, in Syracuse, the son of M. Daniel and Nancy Jean Ianuzi. He grew up in Fayetteville and attended Fayetteville Manlius High Schools and Manlius Military Academy. He graduated from Ithaca College. Mr. Ianuzi was a teacher in the Syracuse City School District for over 20 years. He taught social studies at Clary and Grant Junior High Schools. He also worked for Onondaga County Department of Facilities Management. Besides being a history buff, Daniel was very artistic. He was a talented carpenter and furniture building. He retired in 1989 from Jardines Bronze Foundry in Baldwinsville after 39 years, and was previously employed with Morris Pumps. He was a member of the Foundryman's American Society and was a 4th Degree Knight of Columbus, Council 5082 in Baldwinsville. Lyons, 76, of Baldwinsville, passed away Sunday after a brief illness at Crouse Hospital, Syracuse. The daughter of Henry and Kathryn Meagher, she was born in Springfield, MAand had lived in Camillus for almost 40 years. She then lived in Hilton Head, SC for 10 years before moving to Baldwinsville in May of this year. She was a graduate of Elms College in Chicopee, MA and studied for her Masters in Psychology at Syracuse University. Barbara was a counselor at O.C.C. for ten years and worked for OnBank for many years before retiring as a manager in 1989. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church in Fairmount where she served as president of the Altar Rosary Society and later a communicant of St. Joseph's in Camillus. Barbara was also a volunteer at the Coastal Discovery Museum in Hilton Head. Her husband, Charles R. Lyons, passed away in 1997. A gregarious intellectual, Barbara equally loved the arts, reading, discussing current events and spending time with family and friends. Survivors: two daughters, Barbara A. Toscano, "Joe Tux," 78, of Syracuse and Naples, FL, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2004, in Naples. Joe was a very accomplished individual, both personally and professionally. A native and life resident of Syracuse, heowned and operated the renowned Toscano's Formal Wear, Inc., on North Salina Street (and in the former Fayetteville Mall) for over 40 years. Joe was a proud World War II Veteran, serving with the Navy Seabees 20th Construction Battalion. He was an alumnus of Syracuse University and Christian Brothers Academy, and he was a former member of the Northside Business Association and Lakeshore Yacht and Country Club. Joe possessed an incredible natural talent for carpentry and working with his hands in any artistic medium. He was a talented musician, a great golfer and a skilled boater, with an immense love for the water. He excelled at and perfected anything he pursued. Joe is perhaps best remembered for his extraordinary natural charm and wit. He had an unusual ability to "light up" any room, bringing positive energy and good humor to any situation he encountered. What Joe cherished most were gatherings and good times with his many, many friends and loved ones. He will be forever loved and missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Watkins, Peace October 9, 2004 Peace Watkins, 85, of Sylvania, Ohio, died on October 9, 2004 at Flower Hospital. She was born Peace Mabel MacDonald on November 7, 1918 in Buffalo, New York, the fifth of six children born to Mabel Crawford and Norman MacDonald. She was named Peace because she arrived along with the news of the end of the Great War in Europe, with people dancing in the streets as the "war to end all wars" officially ended a few days later. She grew up in Syracuse and is survived by her brother, peace activist, Angus MacDonald and his family, who still reside there. In 1940 she married Miles Watkins, Presbyterian clergyman, and managed their large family as a homemaker and minister's wife over the sixty years of their marriage. They lived in sixteen towns in five states (New York, South Dakota, Montana, Ohio, and Michigan) including several years with Native American congregations. Miles died in 2000. Peace and Miles raised six children, all of whom survive them, Judith Peace Greenberg (husband Bill) and Keith John Watkins (wife Paula) in Toledo; Carol Linda Welker in Bowling Green; Norman Everett Watkins (fiancee Heather McCallister) in Chicago; Bonnie Watkins (husband John Zakelj) in Minnesota; and Angus Miles Watkins (wife Anne) in Ashville, New York; as well as eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was a faithful, intelligent, deep-thinking and open-minded Christian; a storyteller and promoter of democratic dialogue; a creative admirer of beauty in poetry, music, gardening, and the visual arts; a singer, memoirist and practitioner of Tai Chi meditation; an active supporter of peace, justice and nonviolent action; and an incomparable mother, an exceptional teacher by her example of unconditional love, which will be with us always. A memorial service will be held at noon on Saturday, October 23, at Sylvania United Church of Christ.
