She was predeceased by her sister Mary Beth Donnelly. Benedict, Emmett James October 25, 2004 Emmett James Benedict, 94, of Liverpool, passed away on Monday at the Veteran's Hospital. Emmett was born in Hastings, NY in 1952 to John and Louise Benedict. Emmett graduated from Central High School and began working forthe Psychopathic Hospital in Syracuse. He joined the 26th Infantry Division of the U.S. Army in March of 1941 as a Medical Technician. He continued to serve with the 26th Infantry throughout the U.S. as well as in Germany, Belgium, France, Austria and Chechoslovakia. Emmett continued his career after his honorable discharge as a steel fabricator at Crucible Steel. He retired with Crucible with 23 1/2 years of service. He is predeceased by his wife, Elizabeth Lynch, who passed away in March of 1993. Emmett is survived by two nephews, Walter Goddard Benedict II and James Alexander Benedict; three nieces, Beverly McAvoy, Marilyn Petrucelli, and Hazel Finen; sister-in-law, Diane Barzee-Benedict; cousin, Elwyn E. He served with the U.S. Army under the direction of General Patton and fought in the Battle of the Bulge. He was also in the European Theatre from 1944 to 1945. He was employed with Allied Signal-Honeywell, retiring in 1983, after 38 years of service. John was a member of the American Legion Post 41, Allied Signal Retirees Club and CCC from 1937 to 1939. He was an avid outdoorsman, and he loved to tinker and be at the summer home in Skaneateles. He is survived by his wife of 61 years, Margaret E. (Brown) Capone; a son, Guy C. (Cindy) Capone of Liverpool; four grandchildren, Michael (Kathy) Capone of CT, Seth (Christy) Capone of Fulton, Charlie Capone and Shawna Miller, both of Liverpool; three great-grandchildren, Clara Jane Capone, Abigail Rose Capone and Mary Katherine Capone; one brother, Leon Capone of Liverpool; also several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. A native of Illion, he received a BS degree from Syracuse University. He was the founder and president of R-D Chambers Associates and co-owner of Algeo Manufacturing. He was an ardent SU football fan, a longtime member of the Cavalry Golf Club, and a member of the NYS Association of Certified Football Officials who officiated many high school football games. He served in the Army during WWII and was stationed in India and Tinian. He was predeceased by his parents, DeWitt and Ruth Chambers, and his brother, William Chambers. Born August 24, 1929, in New Bremen, NY, he attended high school in Croghan, NY, and joined the Air Force in September of 1950. He served a tour in Korea and was honorably dis-charged in 1953. He was a lifetime member of Korean War Veterans International. He worked on construction as a plasterer, carpenter, and laborer. He founded Delles Sonoco, RJ Delles Auto Service Inc. in 1972, and Delles Corner Store in 1989. Mr. Delles, "Dick" as he was called, sold his interests in February 2001 to pursue other interests in an importing business. Dick was predeceased by his son Richard and his former wife of 46 years, Frances. Hogan, Sister Monica Mary Hogan, CSJ October 25, 2004 Sister Monica Mary Hogan, CSJ, of St. Joseph's Provincial House, Latham, NY, formerly known as Sister Olive Marie, died at St. Mary's Hospital, Troy, NY, on Monday, October 25, 2004. Sister was born in Johnson City, NY, the daughter of the late John and Nellie May Murphy Hogan. She was in the 65th year of her life as a sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Sister was a graduate of St. Patrick's Academy, Binghamton, and received bachelor's and master's degrees from the College of Saint Rose, Albany. She taught in schools of the Dioceses of Syracuse and Albany, including Holy Rosary, St. Lucy's and St. John the Evangelist, Syracuse, and Catholic Central High School, Troy. Sister was Family Coordinator at Fowler Faith Center, Director of Pastoral Care at Plaza Health and Rehabilitation Center, and Pastoral Minister at St. Michael's Parish, all in Syracuse. She retired to St. Joseph's Provincial House in 2000. Sister is survived by several nieces and nephews.
