September 2, 2004 Elaine H. Chadwick of Fairmount Garden Apartments, Fairmount, died Thursday at Community General Hospital. A native of Syracuse, she lived in Fairmount since 1946. She was the widow of John F. Chadwick who died in 1990. Elaine was an honorary member and past president of the Fairmount Fire Dept. Ladies Auxiliary and a member and past president of the Fairmount Tuesday card club. She was a communicant of Holy Family Church and a member of the Altar and Rosary Society. Davidson, Donald L. September 2, 2004 Donald L. Davidson, 68, of Liverpool, passed away on Thursday, September 2, 2004 at Crouse Hospital after a long struggle with prostate cancer. He was a loving and devoted husband and father. An avid boater, Don spent 8 years living onhis trawler with his wife Mary and their two cats, Rudy and Valentino, traveling the intercoastal waterway from Syracuse to Key Largo, FL. He is survived by his wife, Mary Cooper Davidson; his mother, Pauline Davidson of Binghamton, NY; a brother Gary Davidson of Crossville, TN; a daughter Teresa Davidson of Austin, TX; sons Jeffrey Davidson on Annandale, VA and Steven Davidson of Albany; their spouses Audrey, Linda and Colette; three grandchildren, Katie, Ella and Max; and a large and warm extended family of in-laws. Don was also a former Trustee of Liverpool Elks, past Director and Port Captain of the Marine Trawler Owner's Association (MTOA) and a member of the DeFever Owner's Association. He served 8 years in the Naval Reserve.Don began his career with General Electric in 1957, supporting sonar operations for the Navy. He was instrumental in bringing the battleship lightweight sonar activity back to GE Syracuse in the 1980's. In 1994, he retired from Martin Marietta as Customer Service and Support Manager for a major surface ship sonar program. Muriel, born in Williamsport, PA in 1937 was formerly a resident of Chittenango, NY. She graduated from Williamsport High School in 1957 and received her Nursing Degree from Jefferson Community College. She retired from Hutchings Psychiatric Hospital. While Muriel was raising her five daughters in Carthage, NY, she was active in the Community Church, PTA and the Girl Scouts. She was active for 32 years in scouting and taught swimming at Camp Trefoil in Harrisville, NY. She was also an avid Syracuse Orangemen fan. Former wife of Ellis R. Martin, Jr., of Afton, NY, she is survived by her daughters and their families. Kim Antonelli (Lee Button) and her children; Leah Turner (Keith) Jordan and Lee III and grandson, Brandon; Michelle Koester (Mark) and her children, Josh (Rosa), Eric, Jake and Kalle and her granddaughter, Julia; Amber Demarest (Dan); Erin Nohle and her children, Rachel and Christopher. Kearney, Carmela August 31, 2004 Carmela Kearney, of 218 McLean Rd, Town of Cortlandville passed away Tuesday, August 31, 2004 in Crouse Hospital, Syracuse, NY at the age 56 after a brief illness. Born April 21, 1948 in Carpinone, province of Campobasso, Italy, the daughter of Ermanno and O'Linda Ruscitto DeSilvio, Carmela came to the United States on April 23, 1955 settling first in Syracuse. Survivors include her four sons: Frank M. (Jennifer) Kearney III of Greenville, South Carolina, John P. (Francine) Kearney, David P. Kearney and Stephen J. Redmond, Shirleyann September 1, 2004 Shirleyann Redmond, 81, formerly of Elbridge, passed away Wednesday at the Syracuse Home in Baldwinsville where she had been a resident with Alzhiemers for the past four years. Born in Syracuse and raised in Eastwood, Shirleyann was a long-time Elbridge resident. Her husband, James W. Redmond died in 1994. Shirleyann was an active member of Christ Church, Jordan and a former member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Warners where her husband was a Lay Reader for 20 years. She was also active in the Quilt Guild. She retired in 1983 from Merchants Bank, Elbridge where she was a bank teller for 11 years. Since she was three months old, she vacationed every summer with her parents and family in Chippawa Bay on the St. Lawrence River. In addition to her husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Lynn Ann Redmond who passed away with cancer in 1996 and her parents, Melvin and Norma Crawford. Survivors are sons, James M. Redmond of Mechanicsburg, PA and Thomas R. Redmond of Skaneateles; a brother, Robert C. Crawford of Dexter, NY; nine grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was a life-member of Fulton VFW and the Fulton Polish Home. August 31, 2004 William Gary Twichell, 47, of Stratham, NH, died at Exeter Hospital after a brief illness. Born June 12, 1957 in Syracuse, he was the son of the late Lewis F. and Virginia Wolfanger Twichell. He grew up in Fayetteville and was a 1976graduate of Fayetteville-Manlius High School, where he played football and lacrosse. He worked for GBC, Inc. as director of sales and marketing for over 15 years. An avid outdoorsman, Bill was an accomplished downhill skier who also enjoyed boating, water skiing, and biking. He was a yearly participant in the Pan Mass Challenge bicycle event to raise money for the Jimmy Fund of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute in Boston. Bill was a member of the Syra-Canadian Fish & Game Club and was affiliated with the Boy Scouts of America Troop 51. He enjoyed live music and was known to share his talents as a harmonica player on stage with local friends and musicians. Survivors: a longtime companion, Mary H. Twichell; a daughter, Marissa Twichell of Exeter, NH; two sons, Jeffrey and Graham Twichell both of Exeter, NH; his former wife, Dona T. Warner, 75, of 2572 County Route 57, Fulton, died Thursday in the Oswego Hospital. He was born in New York City, and has been a resident of Fulton for most of his life. Mr. Warner retired from Niagara Mohawk in 1987 as an Electrical Supervisor. He served in the United States Army. Mr. Warner was predeceased by his parents Laurel and Jesse Warner and his brother James Warner.
