Mr. Chamberlain was employed with Niagara Mohawk for 40 years in its electrical engineering department. He also was a veteran of 40 years with the US Air Force, serving during the Korean War and with the 174 Air National Guard Reserves. A lifelong Syracuse resident, Robert retired from Niagara Mohawk in 1994 after 38 years. Having graduated from Valley High School, he attended Syracuse University and served in the U.S. Army as a Chinese linguist. As an avid jazz fan, he enjoyed the local music and served on the board of the Jazz Appreciation Society of Syracuse. A native of West Valley, NY, he graduated from West Valley High School and Cornell University. He was an Army veteran of WW II and was a member andpast first vice commander of American Legion Post 1297. Mr. Gerwitz retired as a Community Service Officer in 1990 from the Syracuse City Police Department and was past owner of the Dairy Queen on West Seneca Turnpike for 15 years. He was an active member of Liverpool Rod and Gun Club, Syracuse Pistol Club, National Rifle Association, L.A.C.E. Dance Club and was a skilled woodworker, carpenter and photographer. He was predeceased by his first wife, Josephine, in 1980 and by two brothers, Cyril and Roger. Neumann, 83, passed away peacefully at Crouse Hospital on September 5, 2004. A lifetime resident of Syracuse, he was born on June 28, 1921. Robert retired from Carrier in 1982 after 37 years as an inspection foreman. He servedduring World War II in the 793rd Military Police in Europe. He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus Council 191 and The American Legion post 41. He enjoyed calling bingo for many years for the Knights as well as Assumption Church. Robert also coached baseball, enjoyed fishing, golf and History. His greatest love was for his wife, family, grandchildren and great-grandchildren; along with this he enjoyed making people smile. Romagnoli, 75, of 2001 Preston Road, Cazenovia, died Monday morning, September 6, 2004, at his residence, following an illness of a few months. Born in Canastota, on December 27, 1928, he was the son of Augusto and Ami-lia Santini Romagnoli. A resident of Cazenovia for the past 15 years, having spent most of his life in Canastota, Mr. Romagnoli was a graduate of Canastota High School, attended Villanova University and graduated from St. Bonaventure University, where he played football at Villanova and St. Bonaventure. He married Lucy Maula in St. Agatha's Church on September 12, 1953. Prior to his retirement in 1992, Mr. Romagnoli co-founded and was a principal in A&R Construction Company, Mid-Atlantic Construction Company, Canastota Constructors, Inc. and Community Builders and was instrumental in the formation of Abscope Environmental, Inc., and CCI Companies, Inc. He was a communicant of St. Agatha's Church, Canastota, and St. James Church, Cazenovia, a former member of the Canastota Central School Board of Education, where he served as president, an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus, E. Bart Hanifin Council #473, a life member of the Canastota Fire Department, a member of the former Canastota Junior Chamber of Commerce, where he received the "Distinguished Citizen Award," and a member of the Canastota Lions Club. Mr. Romagnoli, following his graduation from St. Bonaventure University, was recruited by the New York Giants and Pittsburgh Steelers professional football teams and assisted as a coach with the Canastota Pop Warner football league. He was awarded the Distinguished Alumni Award by the Canastota Alumni Association. Surviving besides his wife Lucy is one daughter, Janice Romagnoli of Cazenovia; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jack and Mary Beth Romagnoli, Jerry and Ellen Romagnoli, and Robert and Susan Romagnoli, all of Cazenovia; one brother and sister-in-law, Dewey J. and Teresa Romagnoli of Canastota; 10 grandchildren: Mark, Mary-Kate, Joseph and Elizabeth Romagnoli, John Thomas and Andrew Romagnoli, and Kristen, Ben, Megan and Ryan Romagnoli; and several nieces and nephews. Born and residing on Onondaga Hill his entire life, he worked numerous jobs, including owning an excavation businesswith his brother Herbert and son Robert. He also was a crop farmer for many years, supplying local livestock farmers with high grade feed. He enjoyed hunting, snowmobiling, vacationing in Florida and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr Winkelstein was a member of Temple Society of Concord. He was a graduate of William Nottingham High School, OCC and SUNY Technical Institute in Utica. Survived by a son Marc (Gail); a daughter Nancy (John) Keeler; four grandchildren; and a brother David (Virginia). Woodcock, 78, of Hubbardsville, passed away Saturday, September 4, 2004, at the Wilson Memorial Regional Medical Center, Johnson City. Funeral services will be held Thursday, September 9, 2004, at 1 p.m. from the Burgess & Tedesco Funeral Home, 25 Broad St., Hamilton, followed by a private interment in the Brookfield Cemetery. A lifetime resident of Camillus, she graduated from Solvay High School in 1945. Mary was employed as manager of accounts payable for Dey Bros. for 42 years, until retiring in1988. She was a communicant of St. Joseph's Church and was a rosary maker. Surviving are her sister, Wanda Dulian of Camillus; nieces, Jeanne Walewski and Sharon (Gary) Mastroeni, both of Camillus; nephew, Robert Dybas of Camillus; and great-niece, Lauren Mastroeni of Camillus. She was predeceased by her sisters Genevieve (Alexander) Walewski (1976) and Irene (Walter) Dybas (1986). Services will be at 10 a.m. Thursday at Buranich Funeral Home, 5431 W. Genesee St., Camillus, and at 10:30 a.m. in St. Joseph's Church, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated. Friends may call Wednesday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery, Geddes.
