Irving Street, East Syracuse, died suddenly Friday. A native of Syracuse, he graduated from Fayetteville-Manlius High School and magna cum laude from Onondaga Community College. He was a mediaconsultant and owner of Allen Media Services. An accomplished musician, he performed over 30 years in the Central New York area as a vocalist and lead guitarist, with bands including Vinnie and the Shooters and Double Down. He was an avid and passionate fisherman. His brother Kevin Allen died in 2003. Survivors: his wife of 22 years, the former Sharon Zinkiewicz; a daughter, Cassandra E. Allen of East Syracuse; a son, Gregory Nicholas Allen of East Syracuse; two brothers, John Allen of Darien, CT and Dennis Allen of Clifton Park; several nieces and nephews. Bumpus Sr., David James September 12, 2004 David James Bumpus Sr., 58, of 2559 Seneca Turnpike, Canastota, died Sunday at his home from cancer surrounded by his loving family: Marge; sons David Jr. (Tammy), Jason; daughter Robin (Mike) Penoyer. David was born in the town of Sullivan and was a longtime resident of the Chittenango and Canastota areas. He also previously resided in Munnsville for 20 years. Prior to his illness, he was employed as a tool and die maker at Oneida Limited for 37 years. David was a member of Fyler Community Church. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving on the USS America. He is also survived by four brothers: Edward (Ruby), Harold (Pearl), Charles (Mary) and Walter; three sisters: Laura (Fred) Sherman, who spent every day with David; Pat (Dennis) Delaney; and Fran (Jay) Meachan; four grandchildren: Cheyenne and Dakota Bumpus and Jordan and Cole Penoyer. He is also survived by the mother of his children, Susan Reed Bumpus. He was predeceased by his mother and father, Virginia and Harold Bumpus, and two sisters, Nora and Peggy. David's good friends, George Bumpus, Dave Taylor, Bob L'Hullier, Fred Olson, John Houle and Don Whipple were there for him. A life resident of Syracuse, he was an Army veteran of WW II, serving in the European Theater with the 755 Shop Battalion. Mr. Dillon retired in 1980 after 38 years with Car-rier Corporation and in 1991 after nine years with the Auto Club of Syracuse. He was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church. His wife of 45 years, Margaret, passed away in 1992. Doroff, Shirley Frank September 11, 2004 Shirley Frank Doroff died Saturday at University Hospital. A native of Syracuse, she was a 1943 magna cum laude graduate of Syracuse University and attended the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor. She was a volunteer at Crouse Hospital and the Everson Museum. Before her marriage in 1947, Mrs. Doroff was a caseworker with the American Red Cross and previously was employed by the Post-Standard in various capacities. She left Syracuse in 1959 with her husband and family for residence in Pittsburgh and later in Philadelphia, where she was active in the orchestras and art museums of both cities. She returned to Central New York in 1987 and lived in Fayetteville. Mrs. Doroff was a member of Temple Society of Concord, Cavalry Club and a former member of Lafayette Country Club. Earlier she had been active in the National Council of Jewish Women, the American Jewish Committee and the Syracuse Day Care Center. Survived by her husband Benjamin; sons Frank (Stephanie) of Harrison, NY, and Stephen (Elaine) of Wenham, MA; sisters, Arlene (Myron) Liberman and Roberta Katzman; and grandchildren Sarah, Robin, Daniel and Sydney. Dunham, Dorothy Brown September 11, 2004 Dorothy Brown Dunham, 91, a Valley resident for 60 years died Saturday at Loretto. She graduated from Vocational High School, and she formerly worked at Wright's Valley Drug store. She was a 60-year member of St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, a member of St. Ann's Guild and Valley V.I.P. Her husband Harry died in 1984. Foley, James Edward August 19, 2004 James Edward Foley of Syracuse passed away August 19, 2004, at the age of 86 while in the care of his wife Irene and daughter Patricia Foley Kromer in Shreveport, Louisiana, where he had resided for the past 5-1/2 years. Born on February 20, 1918, Jim was the son of Charles E. Foley and Jasena Rappleye Foley of Syracuse. He married Irene Ayer of Bamberg, SC, at the "Little Church Around the Corner" in New York City August 29, 1944. Sgt. Foley served his country in World War II with the Army Motion Picture Service at Ft. Belvoir, VA, and in the European Theater at Camp Top Hat in Belgium as a projectionist and manager and maintained his interest in theaters and picture palaces throughout his life. He managed the Midtown Theatre and was a projectionist at many Syracuse theaters. He loved the theater since the age of 12, working at them in high school and later managing theaters in Geneva, Tupper Lake and Amsterdam. Jim joined Local 108 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees in August of 1946, shortly after his discharge from active duty. He came to Syracuse in 1948 where he found work as a relief projectionist and stagehand, working at all the theaters until 1951 when he was hired as the first stage manager at the new Onondaga County War Memorial. He retired from the War Memorial Auditorium in 1982. Jim joined Local 9 of the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees in October of 1959 and served several terms as Secretary-Treasurer and Trustee on the Union's Executive Board before retiring from active membership in 1990. Jim was presented with a gold card and a 50-year members scroll by the International Alliance in 1997. He was a founding board member for the Syracuse Area Landmark Theatre and served as Director of the Northeast Region of the Theatre Historical Society of America where he was Member of the Year in 1978. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife, Irene; daughter, Patricia F. Kromer; son-in-law Michael C. Kromer, formerly of Elmira; granddaughters Kelly Jasena Kromer of Baton Rouge, LA and Kristy Michelle Kromer of Shreveport, LA; brother Richard C. Foley and his wife Bertha Carr Foley of Syracuse and Lakeland, FL; nephew Charles Foley of Lincoln, NE and niece Janet Foley Yost of Juliette, GA; and many friends. Born May 11, 1907, in Auburn, she was the daughter of George and Divinia Severson. She is predeceased by her husband William J., her loving daughter Nancy Sims Hunt, her sister Charlotte Severson and her daughter-in-law Helen Melrose Sims. Surviving are her son William and companion Ruth Fraley of Saratoga and Naples, FL; her son-in-law, Edward A.
