Body, Nancy (Kazubinski Verstraete) September 20, 2004 Nancy (Kazubinski Verstraete) Body, 73, of Edna Rd., Syracuse, died Monday at Community General Hospital. A native of Mattydale, Mrs. Body resided in Syracuse for the past 32 years. Nancy retired in 1993 after 27 years as a building custo-dian for the Niagara Mohawk Power Co. in Syracuse. She was a 1948 graduate of North Syracuse High School, attended St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church, and was a member of the Niagara Mohawk retirees club. Her first husband Vincent Verstraete predeceased her in 1968. Surviving are her husband of 33 years, William C. Body Sr.; three daughters, Janette Verstraete of Mattydale, Jane Johnson of Fairmont, Nancy Flath of Camillus; a son Edward V. Verstraete of Syracuse; three stepsons, Thomas Body of Homestead, FL, Michael Body of Nedrow, William C. Body Jr. of Nedrow; a sister Alice Ernst of Olney, MD; a brother Merrill Kazubinski of Syracuse; 11 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Cook, Wilma P. September 20, 2004 Wilma P. Cook, 78, of Cortland St., DeRuyter, NY, died Monday at her home after a long illness. She was born in Cuyler. She was a graduate and also received her Master's degree from Syracuse University and was an elementary school teacher at the Truxton Elementary School. She was a member of the United Church of DeRuyter, a charter member of the Tinughnioga Fire Dept. Auxiliary, and always enjoyed flowers and antiques. Surviving are her sons Karl (Rae Anne) of Peterboro and Craig of DeRuyter; her grandson Daniel John Cook; and several nieces and nephews. DelBrocco, Antoinette September 21, 2004 Antoinette DelBrocco, 90, of 120 West Albany Street, Oswego, passed away Tuesday in the Oswego Hospital after a short illness. Mrs. DelBrocco was born in Oswego, the daughter of the late Peter and Josephine (Sperino) Pascucci. She was a retired supervisor for Alma Foundation and Fox Foundation, both of Oswego. Mrs. DelBrocco was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, and the Past President of the Dante Alighieri, and a former member of the St. Ann's. She was an avid bowler and card player. Mrs. DelBrocco was predeceased by her husband Lawrence DelBrocco in 1968 and her sisters Mary DiGaetano and Pauline Corsoniti. She is survived by her son Lawrence (Mary Kay) DelBrocco of Oswego; her brother Edward Pascucci of Rome; her sister Anne (Tom) Mosher of Oswego; her grandchildren Jody (Jodi) DelBrocco and Debra (Chad) Carson; her great-grandchildren, Zachary and Sara DelBrocco, and Brady and Eric Carson. Delong, Katherine Mary September 21, 2004 Katherine Mary (Kate) DeLong, 82, former resident of Spring St., Phoenix. Born in Phoenix and life-resident, graduated from phoenix High School class of 1940. Kate was a tube cutter for Sealright Corp., Fulton, a homemaker and was a local news editor for the Phoenix Register. She was a member of the Senior Nutrition Site, Take Off Pounds Sensibly, past president V.F.W., 5540 Ladies Auxiliary and served as patriotic instructor for 20 years. Kate was an avid bowler. She was predeceased by her husband, Grant E. DeLong in March 2004 and a brother, George Plunkett in 1984. Hawley, 77, of Flagler Beach, FL, died during hurricane Frances, September 5th. Jack was born January 12, 1927, in Syracuse, NY. He spent his working life in Syracuse and Cazenovia, NY. He held positions as a contractor, project manager and estimator. He was an active sailor, grouse hunter, and snow skier. In 1983 he and his wife Suzanne sailed down the coast to Florida, where they built a house and moved ashore. After Sue's death, Jack moved back aboard his sailboat and spent his last years in the Flagler Beach area. An adventurer till the end, the old paratrooper road out Charlie on his sailboat but capsized during Frances. He will be missed. Surviving are his sons, John Jr. and wife Shaun of Paso Robles, CA, James and wife Kathleen of Mims, FL; and four grandsons, Gere and Travis in CA and Thomas and Scott in FL; as well as his brother Harold and his wife Susan of NY and FL. A native of Taunton, MA, she resided in Syracuse most of her life. She was employed by Fisher Body for 29 years before retiring in 1972. She was a member of Local 854 of the UAW and a member of the Retiree Executive Board. She was a communicant of Assumption Church and a member of the Altar & Rosary Society. Surviving are cousins of the DiFulvio and Mura families in Syracuse and the Oliva family in NJ. Prybylski, William Joseph September 19, 2004 William Joseph Prybylski, 53, of Washington Township, passed away Sunday, at Kettering Memorial Hospital. William was born April 20, 1951, the son of the late Arthur and Barbara Ferguson Prybylski. He was a 1969 graduate of Christian Brothers Academy and a 1976 graduate of LeMoyne College in Syracuse, News York. William was a very active member of the Church of the Incarnation and volunteered at Alter High School. He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Sharon L. (nee Petrunick) Prybylski; daughters, Pamela M. and Sarah R. Prybylski, and aunts and uncle, Esther Slowakiewicz, Eugene Prybylski, and Ruth Matson. His wit and positive attitude will be missed by all who knew him. Rainbow, 84, of North Syracuse, dearly beloved mother and grandmother, died Monday at Crouse Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, February 27, 1920, to Leo and Josephine Weber Werner. In 1934, at age 14, she was the youngest wom-an to swim across Skaneateles Lake. She graduated from North High in 1937. She was a bookkeeper for 35 years at Crouse Hinds Company and was a member of their Quarter Century Retirees Club. She was an avid golfer and bowler throughout her life. Lois was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Robert, and two brothers, Donald and Howard Werner. Lois was a loving mother and grandmother, an intelligent woman who had great compassion for her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Rainbow is survived by her son Douglas Rainbow of Chittenango; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Piper Rainbow of Clay; and son Rodney Rainbow of North Syracuse; her grandsons and granddaughters, great-grandsons and great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews. Ritz, 54, of Fayetteville, passed away on Monday at Crouse Hospital. He was born in Rochester and graduated from Wheatland-Chili High School in Scottsville. He attended Mansfield State College in Pennsylvania and graduated from the U.S. Air Force Academy. He later received his Master's in Human Resources. Steven served with the U.S. Air Force from 1969-1986. He was employed at Lockheed Martin, Liverpool, in the Radar Division for the past 17 years. Steven was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Church, and was a Commissioned Lay Minister. He served as the United Way Loan Executive, volunteered with Habitat for Humanity and the Samaritan Center and was a member of Toastmasters. Survivors: his wife of 30 years, Susie McDougal; one daughter, Katie Ritz of Fayetteville; two sons, Nicholas (Jennifer) of Kittery, Maine, and Jeremy of Queens; two sisters, Noel Ritz of E.
