A native of Mattydale, Mrs. Body resided in Syracuse for the past 32 years. Nancy retired in 1993 after 27 years as a building custo-dian for the Niagara Mohawk Power Co. in Syracuse. She was a 1948 graduate of North Syracuse High School, attended St. John's Ukrainian Catholic Church, and was a member of the Niagara Mohawk retirees club. Her first husband Vincent Verstraete predeceased her in 1968. Surviving are her husband of 33 years, William C. Heizman, Father Leo September 21, 2004 Father Leo Heizman, 61, of Syracuse, died Tuesday. Born May 5, 1943 to Bernard and Rose Heizman, he was a graduate of Onondaga Central High School. He entered the Christ the King Seminary in Olean, NY and was ordained on May 17, 1969. Hisfirst assignment was at St. Lucy's in Syracuse. He was the principal of both St. Lucy's and also at Immaculate Conception in Fayetteville. Father Heizman was a faculty member of and eventually became principal of Bishop Grimes High School in East Syracuse and also Bishop Cunningham High School in Oswego, NY. He was Pastor of St. Mary's in Mexico and was also stationed at St. Matthew's in East Syracuse and later a Chaplin at Crouse Hospital. He also was Chaplin to the Dewitt Police Department. Father Heizman was the type of priest that reached out to all, no matter what age group. He was a very giving individual. Survivors: His brother, Deacon Bernard Heizman; five sisters, Sister Nadine Heizman OSF, Catherine (Timothy) Fahey, Bernadette (Keith) Mayotte, Jean Marie Heizman, Therese (Curt) Brown; his Foster Son, John Ott and Several nieces and nephews. Krolikowska, Stanislawa September 22, 2004 Stanislawa Krolikowska, 98, of Camillus, passed away Wednesday, September 22 after a long illness. She was born in Poland in 1905 and married Jan Krolikowski with whom she lived 63 years. During WWII the couple, together with their two daughters, were deported to a gulag in the Soviet Union where they had to work in a copper mine. They were released from the Soviet Union under an international agreement and went through Iran, Pakistan and India to reach England 1947, from there, in 1951 they immigrated to New York State. She was a communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and a member of the Polish Heritage Club. Survivors: daughter and son-in-law, J. Marie and Jozef J. The team advanced to and won the World Series played in Canton, Michigan in 2000. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and served with Company UDT Team 19. "Jack" September 21, 2004 John "Jack" Frederick Quartier, 80, of Liverpool, died Tuesday at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Syracuse he was a life-resident of the area and a member of St. John the Baptist Church and the Holy Name Society. Mr. Quartier was aLieutenant on the Fire Department from 1947 to 1985 and joined the Fire Marshall's office in 1962 as an inspector. He was a Navy Veteran of WWII, serving on the USS Shangri-La as a radioman, and was also a radioman on a gunnery plane. His first wife of 43 years, Betty died in 1991. Rainbow, 84, of North Syracuse, dearly beloved mother and grandmother, died Monday at Crouse Hospital. She was born in Syracuse, February 27, 1920, to Leo and Josephine Weber Werner. In 1934, at age 14, she was the youngest wom-an to swim across Skaneateles Lake. Lois Rainbow was the first woman to pitch a no-hitter in women's fast-pitch softball in Syracuse. She graduated from North High in 1937. She was a bookkeeper for 35 years at Crouse Hinds Company and was a member of their Quarter Century Retirees Club. She was an avid golfer and bowler throughout her life. Lois was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Robert, and two brothers, Donald and Howard Werner. Lois was a loving mother and grandmother, an intelligent woman who had great compassion for her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Rainbow is survived by her son Douglas Rainbow of Chittenango; son and daughter-in-law, Thomas and Piper Rainbow of Clay; and son Rodney Rainbow of North Syracuse; her grandsons and granddaughters, great-grandsons and great-granddaughters; and several nieces and nephews.
