Boltz, Harry Edward September 25, 2004 Harry Edward Boltz, 86, of Onondaga Hill, died Saturday at Van Duyn. Born in the Bronx, the son of Marion and Harry Boltz, he attended Fordham Prepatory School and graduated from Boston College. While in college, he completed the Civil-ian Pilot Training course and received his private pilot's license. He also completed his secondary training. He worked for the Civil Aeronautics Administration, which became the Federal Aviation Administration. He was a control tower operator at Presque Isle, Maine, Amboy and Hancock fields in Syracuse. He was an air traffic controller at Logan Field in Boston and was chief radar approach control at Rome Air Force Base, retiring after 35 years of government service. He was the former president of the Jesuit Alumni of Central NY and a former member of Our Lady of Lourdes Holy Name Society. He was a member of NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees). Surviving are his wife of 58 years, Mary (Keneghan) Boltz; son Edward (Elizabeth) Boltz of Fulton; five daughters: Maryanne Boltz of Lansing, MI; Fran Boltz of Youngstown, NY; Kathryn Boltz of Utica; Meg (Kevin) Moss of Auburn, MA; and Aileen (Robert) Kopp of Fayetteville, NY; 12 grandchildren; and a sister-in-law, K. Espostio, Carmella Esposito August 12, 2004 Carmella DeStefano Espostio, 85, of Naples, Florida, passed away at her home on Thursday, August 12, 2004. The Lord led her safely to be with her loved ones. Carmella was born in Geneva, NY, on September 26, 1918. Her family moved to theSyracuse area, where she met and married her husband Charlie "Spuzzy" in 1940. They had both been employed by New Process Gear for 10 years. In the early 1950s, Carmella and her husband started their own business, which became known as the famous and never forgotten "Mama Spuzzy's Pizza Palace" in Bridgeport. People would come from miles around to have one of Mama's "special" pizzas and to be enchanted by "Spuzzy's" jokes and songs. To this day many people still rave about "Mama Spuzzy's." She was predeceased by a grandson, Robert L. Surdam III, in 1983 and her husband Charlie in 1993. She is survived by daughter Frances Surdam of Brewerton; son Joseph; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren, all of Florida; sisters, Lucille (Thomas) Losito of Syracuse, Rosie (Bill) Rosato of Cortland and Margaret Bellomo of Liverpool; brother Joseph DeStefano of Syracuse; several nieces and nephews. Froehlich, Emil September 12, 2004 Emil Froehlich, 82, of Clay, NY, died on September 12 in an automobile accident. He was a U.S. Air Force pilot, flying numerous combat mssions during WW II and the Vietnam War. He was highly decorated for his brave service and retired after 28 years. Emil was buried last Monday in New Jersey with full military honors. He is survived by Jeanne, his loving wife of 55 years; daughter, Cheryl Tobias of Baldwinsville, NY; son Steven of CT; son David of Liverpool, NY; and five affectionate grandchildren. September 24, 2004 Surrounded by the love of both his family and the many others who held him in their prayers, Leonard C. Yeatts, 76, passed away early September 24, 2004, at home. Born May 14, 1928, in Ruffin, NC, the son of Annie and Charlie Yeatts, Leon-ard grew up in a loving family of 10 children. Instilled with faith and a strong sense of values, he gained much respect in his profession and by all who knew him. Leonard attended Pfeiffer University before enlisting in the Air Force, where he served for eight years. He spent a rewarding career in engineering and management at General Electric Company. Len enjoyed golf, bridge and cribbage and was an active member of Christ the King Church, GE Elfun Society and the VFW. He leaves behind his loving wife of 47 years, Doris Thibault Yeatts; three children: Mary Ann, David and Jeffrey, and their spouses and six grandchildren.
