Survived by his mother, Doris Lankin; two sons, Thomas, Jr. and Robert; two daughters, Theresa and Maryann; one brother, Walter; one sister, Georgia; two grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Cardillo, Pauline Grace March 28, 2005 Pauline Grace Cardillo, 66, born December 15, 1938 passed away peacefully on Monday. Pauline was a native Syracusan, and the daughter of Joseph and Lena Cardillo. Pauline and her twin, Carol Lucille, were born three months premature.Pauline weighed two pounds at birth and immediately dropped to one pound 11 ounces. Her twin survived 15 hours. Pauline not only survived but also went on to lead a full life in spite of the many setbacks she had with cerebral palsy. Pauline was known for her independent spirit and tenacious attitude. As a longtime resident of Vinette Towers she enjoyed shopping at the Pond Street Wegman's, where the staff was kind and gracious to her. She was a watchful tenant and readily communicated with the Syracuse Housing Authority regarding any building maintenance concerns. Pauline was compassionate and caring to others, generous and giving, not only monetarily but of herself. She was a graduate of Percy Hughes School. She enjoyed reading and painting pictures. She loved dogs, cats and had goldfish for many years. She liked all kinds of music and enjoyed listening to Armand Magnarelli on Sunday morning. She was proud of her Italian Heritage. Survivors: Her sisters, Fran Brown of Orlando, Florida, Rose (James) Togni of Lakeland, Joyce (Dominick) Farrell of Westvale; brother, Dominick (Tova) Cardillo of Albuquerque, New Mexico; 38 nieces, nephews; 14 great-nieces and nephews in New York, Florida, New Mexico, Oregon and Wisconsin. Devorsetz, Charlotte March 29, 2005 Charlotte Devorsetz, 88, of Utica and formerly of Syracuse, passed away, Tuesday, March 29, 2005, in St. Luke's Memorial Hospital. She was born April 4, 1916 in Utica, the daughter of the late Samuel and Anna Levitt Finkelstein. Mrs. Devorsetz was a graduate of Utica schools and the University of Pennsylvania. On October 14, 1945, she married Harold Devorsetz. Mr. and Mrs. Devorsetz resided for many years in Syracuse. Mr. Devorsetz passed away February 1, 1983. Prior to her retirement, Mrs. Devorsetz was employed as a Library Clerk with the Syracuse Public Library System. Early in her life, she was a Lab Technician. She was a member of the Temple Society of Concord, Syracuse and its sisterhood. Mrs. Devorsetz was also a former of Temple Beth El, Utica, member of the Onondaga Chapter of Self Help for the HEaring Impair and a volunteer at Upstate Medical Center, Syracuse. She is survived by her son, Bertram Devorsetz of Alburndale, FL; her grandsons, Daniel and Joyanne Devorsetz of Brookfield, CT and Brett Devorsetz of Poughkeepsie; her granddaughter, Radha Ganesan of Syracuse; her great-grandchildren, Emily and Alexander Devorsetz and her nieces and nephews. Mrs. Devorsetz was predeceased by her brother, Dr. Haskel Maier. Ferguson, 77, of Baldwinsville, died Wednesday, March 30, 2005 at home. Born in Syracuse, he was an Army veteran serving during WWII. Mr. Ferguson was a Purchasing Agent for Syracuse Diesel and Electric for many years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Baldwinsville. He was a member of the Seneca River Lodge #160 since 1950. He was predeceased by his wife, Doris S., who died in 1999. Ford, 88, of Liverpool, formerly of Morgantown, WV, died Wednesday at Syracuse Veterans Medical Center. A native of Richmond, VA, he was a 1936 graduate of Richmond's John Marshall High School and attended the Universityof Richmond. During World War II, he served in the U.S. Army at the Battle of the Bulge. He was a communicant of St. Mary's Church, Morgantown and Sacred Heart Church of Cicero. He was an account manager for DuPont in Baton Rouge, LA and in Trenton, NJ, a Greyhound ticket agent and a salesperson for Reese Auto Sales. Pearl, his wife of 65 years predeceased him on December 7, 1999. Surviving are his son, Robert H. (Maria) Ford, Jr. of Clay; a granddaughter, Ashley Ford of Clay; a brother-in-law, Steven Riffon of Morgantown, WV; and several nieces and nephews. Mr. Gentile was born in Oswego the son of Jane Gentile and the late John Gentile. Mr. Gentile was an Insurance agent for All State for over 30 years. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus Council # 227, and was inducted into the Men's Bowling Hall of Fame. Mr. Gentile was an avid golfer. He served in the National Guard. Mr. Gentile was predeceased by his wife, Dolores Gentile in 1997. Mr. Gentile is survived by his son, Mark (Debbie) Gentile of Oswego; two daughters, Anne Marie (James) Hawley of Syracuse, and Judy Greenough of Delmar, NY; his mother, Jane Gentile of Oswego; two brothers, Bartholomew (Catherine) Gentile of Oswego, and Thomas (Patricia) Gentile of Oswego; five grandchildren. She was born Carol Schaffner in Buffalo on August 6, 1931. She was an avid reader and swimmer. She is survived by her husband of 52 years, Ernest, and their four children, Anita Joy Schwarting (Rob) of Camillus, Michael Santariello (Tracy) of Fairport, Peter Santariello (Cindy) of Marcellus, and Ernie Santariello (Kim) of Tolland, Connecticut. She is also survived by her sister, Alice Scanandoah (Arden). He was a proud veteran of World War II, having served in the U.S. Navy. On April 26, 1947 he married the former Helen E. Rasile who passed away on January 19, 2005. He was a carpenter by trade and at one time owned his own company S & S Construction. He built many houses and did work on many public buildings in the Utica area. Survivors: a son and daughter-in-law, Anthony A. and Debra Sardino of Camillus; his grandchildren, Nicholas and Katherine Sardino, and Kaylah Sardino; a brother, Salvatore P.
