Following the war, he earned his B.S., M.S. and Ph.D. from Cornell University. In 1954, he joined the Cornell faculty in the College of Agriculture's Department of Rural Sociology and retired after 30 years of service with the university. He organized and served on the boards of several regional and statewide organizations devoted to improving healthcare in rural communities. He served as Historian for the Town of Genoa and first President of the Board of Directors of the Genoa Historical Association. She was a graduate of The College of St. Rose in Albany. Mary Jane was a communicantof St. Mary's of the Lake Church in Skaneateles since 1946. She was the first Lay Religious Education teacher at St. Mary's and served as Chairperson of the Bereavement Committee. She also was active in several other parish committees, including The Parish Council, Confraternity of Christian Women and Church Women United. She was predeceased by her husband, William J. DeLaney, Jr. in 1972; a daughter, Margaret Mary in 1963; and a brother, Edward McGrath in 1999. He was born in Williamsport, PA, on June 19, 1923, and graduated from Lycoming College in Williamsport, PA, with a BS degree in business administration. He retired in 1985 after 32 years as a professional recruiter for the General Electric Co. He was an Army Air Force veteran of WWII and served with the 451st B-24 Liberator Bomber Group in Italy. He was a volunteer for the North Area Meals on Wheels for many years and was happiest when he was working with his family on home projects. He is survived by his wife, the former Doris E. Starr; three children, Christian J. Wool (Cathy) of Fabius, David L. Wool (Fern) of North Syracuse, and Lisa K.
