Bowman, 64, life resident of Pennellville, NY passed away Wednesday. Born in Syracuse, she was an honor society member and graduate of J.C. Birdlebough High School, Phoenix in 1958 and Central City Business Institute, Syracusein 1960. She was a retired paralegal from the Nottingham, Engle and Kerr Law Firm. She also worked for Arron Zimmerman and several other attorney's and judges in Onondaga County. She was a member of, the Daughters of American Revolution and belonged to and supported many nature wildlife preservation and conservation organizations. She was a family historian and genealogist. She was predeceased by her husband, A C Bowman in 1986, and her parents, Martin died in 1986 and Frances Chesbro in 2004. Survivors: Her children, Thomas and Todd Button, Brett (Heather) and A C (Rhonda) Bowman; sister, Connie Chesbro; and brother, Earl (Mary Ellen) Chesbro; several nieces, nephews and cousins; she was a mother and friend of many. Fowler Crangle, 82, of Syracuse, passed away at her home on Thursday surrounded by her family. Born May 31, 1922 in Fair Haven, New York, she graduated from Fair Haven High School and attended Geneseo State Uni-versity. She married James Robert Crangle on August 2, 1944 in Portsmouth, VA. He predeceased her in 1974. A resident of the Valley for 60 years, she was a communicant of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and a former member of the Twins and Triplets Club. Claire especially loved her family and her home. She is survived by six daughters, Barbara A. (Thomas) Planz, of Olive Bridge, NY, Kathleen H. "Frieda" (Gus) Sidou of Holt, MI, Marianne (Roland) Christy of Old Forge, NY, Annette (Michael) Fekete of Washington, DC and Jeanette (Richard) Beers of Rockville, MD; and six sons, Thomas J. of Las Vegas, NV, Charles H. (Lisa) of Orlando, FL, Robert J. (Janet) of Syracuse, NY, David P. (Sharon) of Silverthorne, CO, John Paul (Mary) of Syracuse, NY and William D. (Valorie) of Dillon, CO. She had 27 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren. Born in Auburn, NY, in 1923, she went to Washington, D.C. during World War II to work for the Signal Corps. She married Charles S. El-liott and remained to make her home in Virginia. A memorial service was held by Zoan Baptist Church, where she was a devoted member. Harris, Shirley Ann Gaffey April 27, 2005 Shirley Ann Gaffey Harris, 71, of Eatonbrook Road, Erieville, and Wildwood, Florida, has been called by the Lord to sing forever with the Choir of Angels. She is the daughter of the late, Clarence and Edna Gaffey of Fayetteville, NY. She is sur-vived by her husband of 48 years, Russell Harris; her children, Karen Glasbergen and husband, Randy, Cheryl Boyson and husband, Fred, Stephen Harris and wife, Shelly, all of Sherburne, Linda Crovella and husband, Mark of Scituate, MA, Joy Mazzetti and husband, Dave of Wallkill; 14 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; her twin sister, Gloria Fowler of Brewster, MA; her sister, Elaine Conerty of Bellevue, FL; and her sister-in-law, Judith Harris of Syracuse. Mrs. Harris graduated from Fayetteville High School. She retired in 1995 from Highland Central School, where she worked for many years. She was an avid golfer and loved to travel. A native of Holland Patent, she graduated from Holland Patent High School and Elmira College. She attended Geneseo Collage and received her Library Certificate from Syracuse Uni-versity. She retired as librarian from Fayetteville-Manlius Junior High School. She was a member of the United Church of Fayetteville and a member of its Christian Women and assisted with Adult Forum Sunday School. She was a member of the Holland Patent Eastern Star, the Elmira Alumni Association, Retired Teachers Association, American Association of University Women, and Philomath. Her husband, Raymond I. Knight, 85, of North Syracuse, died with his family at his side Thursday at Birchwood Health Care Center. A native of Prescott, Ontario, he had lived in North Syracuse since 1950. He was an Army Air Corps veteran of WW II and a commu-nicant of St. Rose of Lima Church. He retired in 1980 as maintenance supervisor for the Syracuse Developmental Center. He was predeceased on August 16, 2004, by his wife of 56 years, the former Barbara Bodah. A native of Hannibal, he was a life resident of the Cato-Hannibal area. Mr. Kranze had a trucking and custom harvest business early in his career. He owned and operated a crop farm and George Kranze Lawn and Garden Equipment. In later years he sold coal in addition to farming. He attended Martville United Methodist Church, Martville. He was a dual member of Hannibal and Cato Masonic Lodges. Mr. Kranze was also a member of NYS International Harvester Club; Black Creek Hunting Camp in Herkimer County; the N.R.A. and formerly of the National Hay and Grain Association. He was a member of Cato Volunteer Fire Department since 1952 and served as chief and president. Mr. Kranze served on the Cato Union Cemetery and Bethel Cemetery boards of directors and served as a town of Ira councilman from 1971 to present. Mr. Kranze was predeceased by his first wife, Barbara Rice Kranze, who died in 1979, and by his second wife, Mary VanDoren Kranze, who died in 2004.
