She was a few weeks shy of her 88th birthday. She is warmly remembered for her ever present smile and engaging personality. The former Louise AnneZeppetello was married for 40 years to Joe Amato, owner of Amato Electric. Her husband predeceased her in 1981. She was also predeceased by her longtime companion, Salvatore "Sam" Lombardo who was devoted to her and brought her much happiness in her later years. Mrs. Amato lived in Syracuse from her birth until 2002 when she relocated to Manor Care Nursing Home near Philadelphia to be closer to her children. While a resident of Syracuse, she was very active in the Italian-American Community. She was a member of the Italian Community Home, the Order Sons of Italy, the Golden Jubilee and Amicitia. She was active in the Columbus Day Parade and she participated in Italian dancing at the New York State Fair. Mrs. Amato worked as a bookkeeper in the family electrical business. She also worked as a secretary for Smith Corona Merchant and for the Onondaga County Department of Animal Control. Mrs. Amato served as a census volunteer and was a frequent volunteer at the polls on Election Day. She was a past communicant of Our Lady of Pompei Church. Mrs. Amato is survived by her children, Dr. Dominick Amato (Joan Hodges) of Toronto, Canada, Roberta "Bobbi" Amato of Philadelphia, Joseph D. Amato of San Francisco and Annette Amato (Michael Ware) of Baltimore. Also surviving are her five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by her four siblings, Jerry, Nate and Dan Zeppetello and Mary Krouse. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday at 10:30 a.m. in the Pirro and Sons Funeral Home. A life resident of Syracuse, he was the owner/operator of Ellis Brothers Exxon in DeWitt. Richard was also an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by two sons, Richard K. Flynn, age 81, of 521 Winkworth Parkway, died peacefully at home on Monday after a lengthy illness. Ray, a Syracuse native, graduated from St. Anthony's High School. While he was at Niagara University on a basketball scholar-ship, WWII broke out. He joined the Marine Corps, where he was made a Second Lieutenant and served in the Marine V-12 Program at the University of Rochester. After the war, Ray graduated from Syracuse University and Syracuse University College of Law. While at Syracuse, he played basketball and was on the University's NIT Invitational Team. While he was in Law School, Ray began coaching Varsity Sports, including basketball, at St. Anthony's and CBA High Schools in Syracuse. He coached for six years. After Law School, Ray joined Penn Mutual Insurance Company as a general agent, a position he held for 30 years. His agency won many prestigious awards within the company and Ray served as President of both the Syracuse and National Associations of General Agents. Ray was a member of Bellevue Country Club, where, he served on the Board of Directors and as President. He also belonged to various Sports organizations including the Varsity Club and Orange Pack. He was a communicant of St. Ann's Church in Taunton. Ray is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ann Dwyer Flynn and his two daughters, Nancy A. Flynn and Mary "Teddy" Ryan of Syracuse as well as his three grandchildren, Kimberly Kraus and Raymond and Katy Ryan. Predeceased by his brother, Robert Flynn in 1988, who is survived by his wife, Helen Sizing. Ray also has several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. Born in Easton, MD, he had lived there most of his life before moving to Cleveland about seven years ago. He was a Welder for Raulli & Sons Iron Works, Syracuse for eight years. Well-loved by his family, friend and co-workers, he really loved riding his motorcycle and was a member of the Northshore Ride-Hers Motorcycle Club. He was predeceased by his mother, Betty Gowe and his grandparents, Benjamin and Lavina Gowe who raised him. Lafayette, IN, on June 20, 1933, died peacefully at his home early Tuesday morning. He had lived in Syracuse since 1975. A graduate of Purdue University with degrees in horticulture and business, Ted then went to Paris where he continued his formal music training. He was the manager for Allen Organs for 25 years while also an organist for the 1st United Church of E. Syracuse. Ted was the organist for Temple Society of Concord for 23 years, and most recently was the music director and organist for St. Daniels Church. Ted was the founder and owner of "Holiday Treasures", a catalog company of holiday reproductions. He was a caring and dedicated member of his community. He was a member of the Landmark Theater, Rotary Club of Dewitt, The Rose Society, The Victorian Society, Onondaga Hill Antiques Club, The Humane Society, Signature Music, Pro-Art, E.S.T.M.M., The American Guild of Organists, SCORE, SAGE, Women's Effort, and the Golden Christmas Club. Born in Syracuse, she was a graduate of North Syracuse High School. She was a buyer for Dey Brothers and also for E.W. Edwards for 25 years. She retired from Key Bank. She was a golfer and member of Tuscarora Country Club for many years and also enjoyed ceramics. Mary loved to sing and at parties and family gatherings would sing her favorite song, "Won't You Come Home Bill Baily"? She was a member of Happy Times at St. Rose of Lima and enjoyed many trips with them. Mary was a communicant of St. Rose. She was predeceased by her mother and father, John and Loretta Barzee; her brother and sister, John and Lorraine Barzee; and her beloved husband, of 19 years, Francis Tone in 1980.
