August 11, 2005 Peter D. Baichi, 88, of Solvay, passed away Thursday in the Crouse Memorial Hospital. A native of Bingham Canyon, Utah, he resided in Solvay most of his life and was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Church. In 1950 he founded and became presi-dent of Iroquois Tire & Brake Service, Inc., at 2045 Milton Avenue, Solvay. Pete was a former member of the board of directors at Solvay Bank, and was a member of the Lakeshore Yacht & Country Club for over 30 years. He was a life member of the Knights of Columbus, member of the Elks Club and the Loyal Order of the Moose. An avid fisherman, he and his wife Pat owned a home in Cape Vincent for 40 years. Pete loved taking people bass fishing and enjoyed watching them fight and catch smallmouth bass. His brother, Louis Baichi, died in 1999. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Patricia A. (Maley) Baichi; two sons, Peter M. (Mary Lou) Baichi Sr. and John F. (Mary Ann) Baichi of Marcellus; seven grandchildren, Peter M. Jr., Tracie M., Dr. Matthew M. (Carrie), John J., David J., Nicole M. and Derek T. Feldman, William "Bill" August 11, 2005 William "Bill" Feldman, 85, died Thursday, August 11, 2005, at Crouse Hospital. He was a life resident of Syracuse. Mr. Feldman joined his father Phil and brother Mort in 1946 to establish Phil Feldman & Sons. Marvin Mondlick was add-ed to the partnership in 1977 as Bill stayed active until his retirement in 2002. Mr. Feldman received his B.A. degree from Syracuse University, (Cum Laude) in 1942, including one year of law school. Also in 1942 he joined the Engineering Department, Lofting Division, of the U.S. Air Force. During his career, Mr. Feldman served three successive terms as president of Syracuse Heating, Roofing, and Air Conditioning Contractors Association after being instrumental in establishing the association in 1946. He co-chaired the committee with Tarky Lombardi Jr. to write the Licensing Code for the Heating & Air Conditioning Industry of Syracuse and was appointed by Mayor William Walsh to be the first president of the Board of Heating Examiners and served eight years as head of that board. Bill served four terms as Syracuse's Representative on the New York State Board of Directors for the New York State Sheet Metal, Heating and Roofing Contractors Association. In addition, he served two terms each on the Board of the Syracuse Jewish Federation, Syracuse Jewish Community Center, Temple Adath Yeshurun and the Temple's House committee. He served as president of the Temple's Men's Club for two terms, resulting in the President's Award from the National Federation of Jewish Men's Clubs, and received a trophy for Outstanding Programming; both awards are on display in the Temple Library. Survived by his wife of 56 years, Sarah; daughters, Anne (Marvin) Mondlick, Ilene (Herb) Mendel; sister, Shirley Comiez; and three grandchildren, Josh Mondlick, Marisa and Jordan Mendel. Harris, 71, of 420 McDonnell St., Chittenango, died Wednesday at the V.A. Medical Center in Syracuse. Born in Lowville, Mr. Harris was a resident of Chittenango 38 years. He was employed as a purchasing agent at Thermopatch in Syracuse for 17 years, retiring due to disability in 1974. He then served as volunteer superintendent of St. Patricks Cemetery in Chittenango for the past 25 years. He was a communicant of St. Patricks Church in Chittenango and was a member of St. Patricks Knights of Columbus Council 10924. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean Conflict and was a member of the Chittenango American Legion Post 1287, the Chittenango VFW, and a member of the Disabled American Veterans. Gladys, Milfred and their child, F. Pete moved to Fairmount and were foun-ding members of Fairmount Community Church.
