Born in Caribou, Maine, she was the daughter of the late Albin and Ethel Carlson of Westmanland, Maine. She is sur-vived by her husband, Frederick W. Belyea, of Orlando, Florida; by children, David F. of West Palm Beach, Florida; Susan C. of Richmond, Virginia; Paul R. of Tampa, Florida; Kathy L. of Orlando, Florida; and John H. of Jensen Beach, Florida; a brother, Howard Carlson of Holden, Massachusetts; two nieces and a nephew; grandchildren; great-grandchildren, as well as many friends. She graduated from high school in Caribou, Maine, in 1945 and from North Park Junior College in Chicago, Illinois, with an associate degree in arts in 1947. She was a teacher of primary school children in Maine until her marriage to Frederick in 1950. She put her professional career aside to become a full-time mother and caregiver for her children. During this period she was an active church member, serving in ministries for children in various churches in central New York. In 1972 she resumed her career, serving for several years as a secondary school library aide and later as a primary school health aide in Auburn, New York. She retired from the school system in 1984 and moved with her husband to Orlando in 1986. Private funeral services will be held at Family Funeral Care at John Young Parkway, followed by interment at Woodlawn Cemetery in Gotha, Florida. Doug was born in Troy, NY, on June 19, 1941, the son of the late Charles W. Boyle and Elizabeth K. Boyle. Doug was a longtime resident of Skaneateles. He was a graduate of Catholic Central High School in Troy and earned a bachelor of arts degree and master of science degree in anthropology from Syracuse University. He served in the U.S. Army in intelligence and communications. A voracious reader of American and military history, Doug was also an avid fan of high school and collegiate athletics. Doug is survived by his longtime, loving and supportive companion, Debbie Sprague of Skaneateles; his brothers, Steven P. Boyle (Rosemarie) of Slingerlands and Alan K. Boyle (Eva Istvan) of East Chatham; sister, Ellen M. Boyle of North Chatham; loving nephews, Brendan C. Boyle and Sean K. Boyle, and niece, Maura W. Boyle; many dear cousins, including Bruce R. She was born in Toronto, grew up in Syracuse and graduated from Central High and Syracuse University. She helped found the auxiliary to Hospice of CNY and served as the first president. She served on the alumni board for KKG sorority, Community General Hospital auxiliary board, Everson Museum members council and the YWCA board. She volunteered for Make-a-Wish Foundation and Komen Cancer Foundation. She was a past president of Suburban Garden Club. Pierce, John Sells July 29, 2005 John Sells Pierce, 86, of Skaneateles and Bonita Springs, FL, died July 29, 2005, at the Hospice Care Center in Akron, OH, after a two-year battle with lymphatic cancer. Born August 2, 1918, in Columbus, OH, Sells moved as a teenager to Syracuse, spent a year at Chillon College near Montreux, Switzerland, and graduated from Pebble Hill Academy and Syracuse University. He was on active duty as CO of the 4th Signal Center Team in the European Theater from 1941 to 1945 and then became a manufacturer's representative throughout New York State. Among his many activities, Sells was a member of the Rochester Flying Club for 22 years and then took up sailing on Skaneateles Lake and throughout the world. He served the village of Skaneateles for 25 years on the zoning board of appeals, the board of trustees and the joint comprehensive planning committee. Sells was also a member of St. James Church, Skaneateles Country Club, past president of Seniors of Skaneateles and served on the advisory committee for Skaneateles Savings Bank. He was predeceased by, and was the beloved husband of, Reba May Hiscock. He was president of Columbia Mills Inc., then of Syracuse, and retired in 1974 after 43 years with that firm in various capacities, including secretary, sales manager, vice president and president. Mr. Reynolds attended Bronxville Public Schools and graduated from Phillips Academy, Andover, MA, and Williams College, Williamstown, MA, where he was a member of Delta Phi Fraternity. He served as president of his Class of 1931 and was recently awarded the "Joseph's Coat," given annually to the Outstanding Alumnus in the Williams' Old Guard (classes that graduated 50 or more years ago). He was an Industry Panel member of the Region 2 War Labor Board and was, for many years, chairman of the Book Cloth Council of the Book Manufacturers Institute. He was also active in the affairs of the Library Binding Institute, and he served as chairman of the Suppliers Committee. A longtime member of Park Central Presbyterian Church, he served several terms as elder and trustee, and he was also a trustee of Pebble Hill School. He likewise was a trustee and, for several years, president of the Big Wolf Lake Association of Tupper Lake, NY. In more recent years, he was a member of the board of trustees of the Everson Museum of Art, the board of directors of the Syracuse Symphony, the Onondaga Historical Association and was an active member of S.C.O.R.E., the Service Corps of Retired Executives. In this latter capacity, he was an advisor to many small businesses in this area. Mr. Reynolds was a member of Onondaga Golf and Country Club, Sedgwick Farms Tennis Club of Syracuse and Williams Club of New York City. He is survived by his wife of 72 years, the former McDowell Smith; a daughter, Mrs. Mary R. Moser of Summit, NJ; a son, James A. Reynolds III of Sunnyvale, CA; a son, Philip S. Reynolds of Scarsdale, NY; eight grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Services will be 10 a.m. August 27 at Park Central Presbyterian Church, 504 E. Fayette St., Syracuse. Peter graduated from Jamesville-Dewitt High School in 1999, where he excelled in music, both vocally and instrumentally. Peter continued to study music af-ter high school to further pursue his dream of entertaining people with his many gifts. Peter was a musician, actor, comedian and a human beatbox. His child-like spirit and sense of humor lit a room and he will be forever remembered for the endless joy he brought to so many lives. Thank you, Lord, for an amazing young man, who had the courage to pursue his passion. Whenever we think of Peter, we will smile. Peter is forever loved by his mother, Maria Sahyoun, and his father, the late Hanna Sahyoun; his sisters, Vivianne Thomas and Jihanne Sahyoun; several aunts and uncles, including Vivianne and Michel Saba, Maroun and Elizabeth Sahyoun; several cousins, including Elias and Suzanne Saba, Ramsey and Armand Sahyoun. Salsbery, 80, died peacefully at home with his family on Friday. Born in Fulton, he was a life resident. Mr. Salsbery retired in 1983 after more than 30 years as a boilermaker. He was a member of the Elks and Moose lodges, as well as a member of the Pathfinder Fish and Game Club and a life member of V.F.W. Post 569, all in Fulton. Mr. Salsbery was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed bowling. He was a Navy veteran, serving from 1943 to 1945.
