Bukowski, Chester August 19, 2005 Chester Bukowski, 91, of Syracuse, died on Friday at James Square. He retired from the City Water Department after 45 years of service, was an Army veteran of WWII, having served in Burma, was a member of the Pulaski Post American Le-gion and was an avid gardener and golfer. He was a communicant of Transfiguration Church and a member of the Holy Name Society. He is survived by two sisters, Jane and Anne Bukowski of Syracuse, and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews. He was a former member of the village of Fayetteville Planning Board. He was a golf official and was a member of the U.S. Golf Association and a member and past officer of the Syracuse District Golf Association. His wife, Margaret, died in 1993. Hinton, 81, of St. Cloud, FL, was called home to Heaven on Friday, August 19. Fran and her family moved to St. Cloud in December 1970 from Skaneateles, NY. While living in NY, Fran was a member of the Spafford Auxiliary and helped to organize town events. She was also a member of the Civil Air Watch. After Fran moved to Florida, she became the first female hired to work as a turnpike toll collector. It was such big news that it made the newspaper. She was so proud to be a part of such a wonderful team and talked about how much she loved her job. She retired in 1987. Fran loved life and spoke of her many adventures that she had been on and how exciting her life had been. Fran loved animals, especially her little dog, Susie, and her cat, Cutie. Fran was blessed with a large family and loved all of them so. She enjoyed when all of them would gather so she could see everyone. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. Fran had great wit and a wonderful sense of humor. She brought much joy to all our lives and will be missed so much. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bill Sr., and her son, Jimmy. She is survived by her children: Penny (Larry) Bucher, Connie (Rick) Pino, Carol (Greg) Guettler, and Bill (Angie) Hinton, all of St. Cloud, and Dee Dee (Paul) Wright of Poinciana; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and of course, Susie and Cutie. "Dickie" A. Krukowski August 21, 2005 Richard "Dickie" A. Krukowski, 74, of East Syracuse, died peacefully at home Sunday after a lengthy illness. Born in East Syracuse, he was a 1949 graduate of East Syracuse High and a 1957 graduate of Lemoyne College. He retired in 1989 after 34 years of service with the federal government. In addition, he served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church, East Syracuse. His brother, Robert "Brub," died 1991. He enjoyed spending time with family, along with his hobbies of golfing, gardening, and building and flying remote-controlled airplanes with his friends at the OMAC club. Monnell, Virginia "Ginny" August 21, 2005 Virginia "Ginny" (Neave) Monnell 77, of Onondaga, quietly closed the window on her life in her home surrounded by family and friends on Sunday. She was predeceased by her loving husband of 48 years, Chuck, in 1998. Ginny was given the VIM award for her work with the children of her community by the CIPO of Split Rock. She was past president of Split Rock Mothers' Club, active in the Split Rockettes entertaining group, member of the Onondaga Hill Senior Center, Senior Service Girl Scout leader, and owned and operated School Haven and "Teen Haven" in her home. She was also a member of the Camillus and Liverpool/Baldwinsville chapters of the Order of the Eastern Star, past grand chaplain of O.E.S. for the state of NY, and a member of the Daughters of the Nile. Her dedication to her family and extended family will be always remembered. She is survived by five daughters: Cheryl Monnell, Kathleen Blanchette, Cynthia Harris, Deborah J. A native of New York City, she was the daughter of the late Commissioner William E. and Ethel Chamberlain. She graduated from Syracuse University in 1956 and re-tired in 2005 as director of the Salvation Army Southwest Day Care Center, where she had worked since 1988. She formerly was director of teacher personnel, Syracuse Desantis Music; was a member of DeWitt Community Church and its choir; the Salvation Army Women's Auxiliary; Onondaga County Music Educators Association; Onondaga County Day Care Directors Association; the American Brass Band; and Syracuse University Orange Pack. Her husband, Professor James W. Mosher, died in 2004.
