Baker, 16, of Bernhards Bay, died Thursday, August 25, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Syracuse after being involved in an ATV-car accident in Bernhards Bay. Chanitz, William F. August 24, 2005 William F. Chanitz, 90, of Sconondoa Road and formerly of Geneva and Endicott, died peacefully Wednesday afternoon, August 24, 2005 at Stonehedge Health and Rehabilitation Center of Rome. Bill was born on December 7, 1914 in Syracuse, New York, a son of Frank and Adele Novak Chanitz and attended Syracuse Schools. On January 24, 1941, in Syracuse, New York, Bill and Catherine L. Brewster were united in marriage and enjoyed a blessed union until Catherine's death in 1988. Prior to his retirement in 1975, Bill was employed as a machine operator with IBM of Endicott with 40 years of service. Bill enjoyed fishing, music, horse racing, baseball, football and gardening. He was of the Catholic faith. Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Bob and Ruthie Chanitz of Venice, FL, and John and Kathy Chanitz of Endicott; one daughter and son-in-law, Peg and Tim Francis of Oneida; two grandchildren, Robert L. Watkins and Jennifer Chanitz; one great-grandson, Christopher Watkins. Bill was predeceased by his wife; a brother, Joseph Chanitz; two sons, William F. Chanitz in 1969 and Michael D. Frigin, Eric Michael August 23, 2005 Eric Michael Frigin, 29, died on Tuesday while working at the New York State Fair. He was born in Syracuse and had traveled the East Coast for the past ten years while working for the James E. Strates Show. His co-workers became hissecond family and he enjoyed working with them. He is survived by his mother, Patricia Stachnik of Clayton, NC; sisters, Jennifer Frigin and Heather Bouchard both of North Carolina; grandfather, Paul Frigin of Syracuse; and several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. Chuck August 25, 2005 Cecil A. Chuck Gallagher, 82, of 6441 State Rt. 233, passed away on Thursday, August 25, 2005 at the Eastern Star Nursing Home, Oriskany due to Parkinsons and Diabetes. He was born on August 21, 1923 in Camillus, NY, a son of Harry and Florence Adlam Gallagher and was educated in Syracuse schools. Chuck was united in marriage to the former Frances Hogan of Syracuse on August 21, 1943 in Smyrna, TN. They just celebrated their 62nd Anniversary. Chuck served in WWII with the U.S. Army Air Corps from 1943 to 1946. He was a crew chief and Instrument Specialist on P-51 fighters in the 26th Fighter Squadron (Flying Tigers), in Kunming, China. After returning home, he continued service to his country as a civilian employee at Griffiss Air Force Base, retiring in 1970. He also retired in 1993 from the Oneida County Sheriff's Dept., where he served as a court attendant. Chuck was a communicant of St. Peter's Church, an honorary life member of the Knights of Columbus Council #391, 4th degree, and a member of the South Rome Senior Center. He was an avid photography buff and enjoyed bowling, golf and traveling to visit his family and grandchildren. Surviving besides his wife, Fran, is a son and daughter-in-law, Charles W. and Linda Gallagher, Holly, MI; three grandchildren, Charles R. Gallagher, Defiance, OH, Lauri L. Bauer, Winston-Salem, NC, Jennifer L. Locher, Ortonville, MI, several great-grandchildren; a sister, Arlene Nedro, Baldwinsville. He was predeceased by a sister, Florence Martin and three brothers, Leo, Harold and Gerald Gallagher. Funeral services will be Monday at 9:15 a.m. from the Barry Funeral Home, 807 W. Florin worked for the Syracuse Police Department from 1946 to his retirement in 1970. He also worked at Key Bank and was aveteran of the WWII US Navy. She was a retired electronic technician. She was Protestant; a member of VFW Auxiliary, Sandy Creek, NY; avid golfer and champion four times. Survived by her husband, Dick Senecal, N.P.R., FL; a daughter, Tina O'Connor; and a son, David Dickenson; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. The son of Harry and Amelia (McLaughlin) Shaughnessy of Clinton, MA. Paul graduated from Clinton HS in 1944 and St. Michael's College in 1951. He was a Navy corpsman during WWII. Paul resided in Liverpool for 50 years. He was the director of Quality Assurance when he retired from Bristol Laboratories in 1985 after 34 years of service. He was a coach and referee for the Liverpool Jaycees Youth Football League. He was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary, where he was an usher and lay lector. Paul was predeceased by brothers, Harry, John, Thomas and Joseph, as well as his son, Joseph in 1979. Surviving are his wife of 54 years, Josephine (O'Toole); daughter, Joanne (Joe) Rada of Birmingham; sons, Paul (Pat) of Oswego, Patrick (Darcy) of Syracuse and Michael (Sandy) of Minoa; as well as, nine loving grandchildren: Erin, Maura, Liam, Jake, Katy, Shaughna, Austin, Declan and Alison. She was born in Schenectady, New York on August 19, 1911, the daughter of Clarence and Louise Gingras. After graduation from Oneonta Normal School she married Carlos S. Yerian, her husband of 52 years, who predeceased her in 1991. Mrs. Yerian was a beloved wife, mother and grandmother. She was an avid golfer, accomplished sewer and traveled extensively with her husband and family. Surviving are her sons, James (Elaine) Yerian of Syracuse, Richard (Pat) Yerian of San Francisco, California; and daughter, Jean (James) Cokus of Syracuse; four grandchildren, Michelle and Michael Yerian; and Shawn and Patricia Cokus.
