Corcoran, 76, of Syracuse, died Sunday morning at Community Hospital. He worked for the family business, Peerless Press Inc., his entire life and retired as a partner at age 65. Tom was past president of Syracuse Printing House of Craftsman and a member of the Bishop Foery First Friday group. Tom was the son of the former mayor of Syracuse and was committed to the community his entire life. He was an avid reader and loved the outdoors. Tom was a devoted husband of 55 years and a committed father of seven children. Tom was an active member of St. Ann's Church and attended daily Mass. He is survived by his wife, Margaret Prescott Corcoran; three sons: Mark (Sue) Corcoran, Father Kevin Corcoran of the Syracuse Diocese and Terry (Laurie) Corcoran of Perrysburg, OH; four daughters: Cathy (Steve) Murphy, Margaret (Ron) Peckham, Sister Joan Corcoran, Daughter of Charity, and Carol (Victor) Tabuntschikow of Vestal, NY; 12 grandchildren: Sean Corcoran, Christopher Corcoran, Kristie Harkins, Joseph MacDonald, Travis Murphy, Katie Peckham, Matt Peckham, Sarah Peckham, Lindsey Corcoran, Abby Corcoran, Tommy Corcoran and Ashley Tabuntschikow. Born in Dalton, MA, she lived in Solvay and Lakeland most of her life before moving to Onondaga Hill. She was a sales clerk at Witherill's Department Store in Camillus for several years, retiring in 1983. She was a member of First Christian Assembly Church, Syracuse. She was predeceased by her husband, Samuel, in 1966 and her son, James, in 2003. Garrett, John S. July 20, 2005 John S. Garrett, 40, of Seattle, Washington, died Wednesday, July 20, 2005, at Swedish Hospital. He was born in Cortland, graduated from Liverpool High School and attended Ithaca College. John lived a passionate life full of laughter, fine food, traveland flowers. He especially loved animals and adored his nieces and nephews. A good friend wrote after his passing, "John couldn't help but add spark to any day and bring joy to those in his orbit." John is survived by his father and stepmother, Larry and Roxanne Garrett of Homer; sister, Kelly Garrett-Coman; three brothers, Michael Garrett, Peter Garrett and Patrick Garrett; seven nieces and nephews. He was the for-mer owner of the Regent Restaurant for many years before taking a job with Syracuse University, where he worked in the Carrier Dome until his retirement in 1995. Harold was an avid sports enthusiast (especially Syracuse University athletics) and played handball and racquetball at the YMCA some years ago.
