Born July 24, 1932, in Auburn, NY, he grew up and was an entrepreneur in Syracuse, NY. He established several distributing businesses by the names of R&J Dist. and Bomar Dist. Retiring at the age of 53, he relocated to Ft. Myers, FL where for the love of golf joined the San Carlos Golf and Men's Association. Surviving him are his daughters, Jennifer Bowen of Lantana, FL and Theresa Bowen of Mattydale, NY; son, James M. Bowen and wife, Janet of Coram, Long Island, NY; sisters, Frances Bowen and Mary Arnold; brother, William Bowen; and five grandchildren, Kerry, Sidony, Melanie, Bridget and Madison. She worked for Dey Brothers for 25 years as a buyer, then store manager. She was also a store manager for Nature's Touch, Great Northern Mall from 1994 until they closed. Electronics in Newark after 18 years and was a former member of Brandon Elks Lodge. She was a crafty person and really enjoyed ceramics and painting. She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Langworthy in 1996 and two sons-in-law, Don DeWandel and Bruce Barkley, both in 2005. Maier, Emily Harpham Partridge Partridge Maier August 26, 2005 Emily Harpham Partridge Maier, of Union Springs, NY, passed away on Friday, August 26, 2005, at Mercy Health & Rehabilitation Center. She was born on October 2, 1913, in Akron, Ohio, the daughter of Albert and Edith Partridge. After graduating from high school, Emily attended the Royal Academy of Performing Arts in England. She then traveled across the United States and Canada for several years, performing with different children's theater groups, including the Phoenix Players, a company she formed herself. As a professional actress, Emily loved to entertain her friends and new acquaintances by singing songs, reciting poems and telling humorous anecdotes throughout her life. She is survived by a brother, David (Rosemary) Partridge, of Toronto; and several nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews; and loving friends. In addition to her parents, Emily was predeceased by her husband, Robert, who died in 1983, and by a sister, Elspeth Hall. McManus, 82, formerly of Baldwinsville, died Sunday at the home of his daughter in Standardsville, VA. He was born in Syracuse and lived in Baldwinsville most of his life. Charles retired in 1987 from the Baldwinsville Messenger where he was employed for 40 years. He was an Army veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theatre and receiving the Silver Star. An avid golfer, Charles was a longtime member of the Camillus Country Club and won the Handicap Tournament twice while he was there. Survivors: his wife of 58 years, the former Jean E. Smith; a daughter, Mary McManus of Standardsville, VA; a son, Dr. Michael E. McManus of DelMar, CA; a sister, Helen Cleary of Groton; a brother, Peter of Schenectady; four grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Ostuni, Joseph J. August 29, 2005 Joseph J. Ostuni, 68, of Liverpool, NY and 4th Lake, Adirondacks passed away suddenly Monday, August 29 at St. Joseph's Hospital. He had many interests including the Central New York Wood Turners Association and CAS-ART - The Central Adirondacks Search and Rescue Team. He loved the Adirondacks and was an avid hiker, snowmobiler and canoeist. He was a pioneer in the Cable TV industry and received the outstanding patent in 1974 for the cable TV converter. He retired from Philips Broadband Network in 2000. He was a licensed Ham Radio operator. Joe was an Eagle Scout with Bronze Palm, and was a Commissioner for Boy Scouts in Onondaga County. He was also a Eucharistic Minister at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church in Liverpool. Joseph was predeceased by his parents, James V. and Fannie Cacciola Ostuni. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Congetta (Calogero) Ostuni; two sons, Joseph (Wendy) Ostuni, James Ostuni; daughter, Cindy Ostuni; sister, Lorraine Morganti; and two grandsons, Mychal and Anthony Ostuni,he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Joe was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother and friend. He will be greatly missed. He retired from the Victory/Great American Food Chain after several years of employment. He was member of the Masonic Lodge for several years. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. Ms. Walter was a longtime Wakefield resident and a member of St. Joseph parish. She is survived by her cousins, Marie Samuel of Mystic, CT., Robert Walter and Ruth Ann Mahar of West Monroe, NY, Marjorie Walsh of Fredericksburgh, VA and Richard Walter of Watertown, NY.
