Klochaney, 84, of Matty Ave., Mattydale, died Saturday at Francis House. A native of Jessup, PA, Mr. Klochaney resided in Mattydale for more than 40 years. He was an Army veteran of WWII, serving in the European Theater, and he re-ceived two Purple Hearts. He retired in 1982 after 35 years as a setup man for the General Motors plant in Syracuse. Peter was a communicant of St. Margaret's Church, a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #3146 in Mattydale, a member of the UAW Local #852 and the Loyal Order of the Moose Lodge in Solvay. His wife of 37 years, Margaret, predeceased him in 1987. He is survived by four daughters: Ann (Lou) Wadsworth of Liverpool, and Delores Klochaney, Marcella Mauro and June (Tom) Hunter, all of Mattydale; a son, Peter "Danny" (Joyce) Klochaney of Onsted, MI; two sisters, Julia Dombrowski of Denver, CO, and Anna Nestoriak of Olyphant, PA; 11 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and his longtime companion, Betty Haynes of Mattydale. She had previously worked for Remington as a secretary and was a lifelong communicant of the Basilica of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was predeceased by her loving husband Stanley H. Liro in 1989. He retired as a locksmith from Syracuse University and was the former owner of Pastuf Hardware and Lock Company in Eastwood. He was a communicant of St. Matthew's Church, a for-mer member of the Wanoa Golf Club, a former bowler at the Eastwood Sports Center, an avid gardener and an avid SU sports fan. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps during World War II. Survived by his wife of 58 years, Rita A. (Reschke) Pastuf; two sons, John C. He was a lifelong resident of Otisco, a charter member of the Otisco Fire Dept. and a member of Otisco Presbyterian Church. He was also a past member ofthe Otisco Town Board and an insurance agent for 50 years. He was a retired dairy farmer and a school bus driver for Tully schools. He traveled 49 states and all the Canadian provinces. He traveled to Alaska three times. Survived by his wife of 62 years, Dorothy Barber Russell; three sons: Tom of Otisco, Jack (Jackie) of Corinth, TX, and Dale (Ellen) of Otisco; one brother, Harold (Pat) Russell of Otisco; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was a 50-year member of the Bricklayers and Allied Craftsmen Union and retired from SAL Masonry in 1986. He was a U.S. Navy veteran of WW II, serving with the Seabees in the Pacific Theater.
