He was a graduate of Syracuse University and the University of Blacksburg in West Virginia with a Masters Degree in Wildlife Biology. While attending Syracuse University he was a member and past president of Psi Epsilon Fraternity. She later worked for W.T. Grants in Syracuse for 21 years, retiring in 1974. Viola enjoyed traveling and reading. She had been a member of the Kiwanis Club in Syracuse. Viola had been active at the Salvation Army Adult Day Program. Viola married Clarence E. "Hy" Gorman on August 31, 1946 in Syracuse. Hy died on March 2, 1971. Milazzo, Fanny February 9, 2005 Fanny Milazzo, 69, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all who came in contact with her, was called home to our Lord on Wednesday, February 9, 2005. She passed away after a courageous battle with a lengthy illness. She was born in Mount Morris, NY, to the late Mamie and Charles Sciarrino. She was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Sciarrino. Moore, 84, of Syracuse, died Thursday at Community General Hospital. She was born in Syracuse to the late Edward and Katherine Moore. She graduated from Convent School in 1938 and Georgian Court College in Lakewood New Jersey in 1942. She worked as a lab tech for Sealtest Ice Cream for five years. She retired from American Airlines after 31 years as a supervisor in the city ticket offices in downtown Syracuse. After retirement she was a volunteer for the Everson Museum, Community General Hospital, and she loved to play bridge. She belonged to Zonta International, the Zonta Club of Syracuse, and Bellevue Country Club. She is predeceased by her sister, Mary Maloney; and nephew, John Tucker Maloney. Peterson, Jr., Venice, Florida, was the son of Judge Carl W. Peterson, and his wife, Anna Fisher Peterson. He attended Ilion (NY) public schools, graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY, and from Cornell Law School in Ithaca, NY. In 1957 Carl entered the U.S. Air Force and served three years in the Judge Advocate General's department. He became associated with the Syracuse law firm of Estabrook, Burns, Hancock and White in 1960, and later joined the legal department of the City of Syracuse where he became Corporation Counsel of the City in 1968. In 1970 he became a partner in the law firm of Hancock and Estabrook, where he remained until his retirement in 1997. Mr. Peterson participated in bar association and other civic activities. He served as Director and President of the Onondaga County Bar Association, Director and President of the Hiscock Legal Aid Society, and Chairman of the Fourth Department Attorney Grievance Committee. He was also a longtime Director and President of the Former Volunteer Center of Syracuse and an organizing Director of PEACE, the Syracuse anti-poverty organization. Mr. Peterson married Virginia Wood in 1957, who survives him. He is also survived by two sons, Carl W. Peterson, III, of Syracuse, David H. Peterson; a daughter-in-law, Julia M. Peterson; and two grandchildren, Spenser and Olivia, all of Gloucester, Massachusetts. Services will be held at 10:30 on Friday, February 11, 2005 at The Ewing Funeral Home, 140 E. Reeves Jr., Ralph "Jerry" February 8, 2005 Mr. Reeves, 45, of Charlotte, North Carolina, died on February 8, 2005, at Carolinas Medical Center-Charlotte following a massive brain hemorrhage. Jerry was born February 24, 1959, in Syracuse, New York, and was a graduate of Lafayette High School. He had resided in the Central New York area prior to moving to Charlotte in 1986. At the time of his death, Mr. Reeves was employed by Truck Air of Charlotte.
