February 7, 2005 Teresa M. Bieganowski, 61, of Syracuse, died Monday, February
7, 2005 at St. Joseph's Hospital. She worked for Time Warner Cable in Syracuse
as a customer service representative for over 10 years. She was a member of
the Lysander Congregation of the Jehovah's Witnesses. Surviving: her husband,
Bernie W. of Syracuse; one daughter, Melissa A. (Joseph Formica) Stankevich of
Liverpool; two sons, Brian J. (Laura) and Derek F. both of Syracuse. Services:
Friday 6:30 p.m. at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 7758 Maple Road,
Baldwinsville. Burial private. Calling hours will be Friday, 5 to 6:30 p.m. at

February 8, 2005 Frederick M. Brown, 73, of Oswego, died Tuesday. Surviving
are his wife, Arlene; four daughters, Jane, Karen, Rebecca, and Tracy; four
brothers; five sisters. Services are 11 a.m. Friday in St Mary's Church.

February 2, 2005 Virginia R. Celi, 79, of Titusville, Florida, passed away on

where she worked for many years. Survivors: Her son, Wayne (Kathy) Curtis of

DeLaney, John E.   
February 9, 2005 John Edward DeLaney, 83, of Fremont, passed away Wednesday at
University Hospital. Born in Poughkeepsie, he served with the US Army Air
Force in the South Pacific during WWII. John was employed at General Electric
for 30 years, retiring in 1983. He was a communicant of St. Matthews Church,
East Syracuse, where he was active as a volunteer and an usher. He was a
volunteer for Meals on Wheels in East Syracuse and an former trustee at the
Minoa Library. Survivors: His beloved wife of 56 years, Ruth; two daughters,
Judith DeLaney of Syracuse and Patricia (Mike) Fernandez of Baldwinsville; a
son, John E. (Julie) DeLaney, Jr. of SC; two sisters, Eileen Lynch and
Catherine DeLaney both of N. Andover, MA; a brother, Joseph K. DeLaney of
Westmoreland; two grandchildren, Sgt. Joseph Heins, USMC and Amy E. Fernandez;
three great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Funeral Services: 9:45

February 7, 2005 Raymond J. Frenz, 94, formerly of Rochester, died February 7,
2005 at his winter home 150 Old Liverpool Road, Liverpool, NY. Mr. Frenz
worked for Eastman Kodak from 1935 to 1972. Surviving is a son, Raymond J.,
Jr. (Barbara) Frenz, Westerville, Ohio; two daughters, Kathi (Dennis)
McCarthy, Syracuse and Lynn (Bud) Scrantom, Richardson, Texas, and families.

Gibbons, Paul L.   
February 8, 2005 Paul L. Gibbons, 63, of St. Augustine, Florida, and
Cazenovia, died Tuesday at Crouse Hospital. Paul was a Detective with the New
York City Police Department, retiring in 1978. Surviving are his wife of 42
years, Patricia; his sons,Christopher and Paul, both of St. Augustine, Robert
of Montgomery, Texas; his daughters, Laura Jaquith (Scott) and Diane Tedesco
(Thomas) both of Cazenovia; his grandchildren, Travis, Zachary, Anthony,
Gabby, Nicholas and Danielle; his aunts, Helen Stacom, Ethel Bedford and
Barbara Sterner. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m.

Gladwin, Douglas Neil   
February 7, 2005 Douglas Neil Gladwin, 51, died unexpectedly on Monday. He was
a graduate of Syracuse University and the University of Blacksburg in West
Virginia with a Masters Degree in Wildlife Biology. While attending Syracuse
University he was a member and past president of Psi Epsilon Fraternity. He is
survived by his best friend, Barbara Walker of Norwich, NY; adopted daughter,
Heather Larramendi of Las Vegas, NV; mother, Vivian Gladwin of Camillus, NY;
brother, Stephen Gladwin of Riverview, FL; sisters, Sally Joslyn of Columbus,
OH and Denise Smith of Saratoga Springs, NY. He recently retired from the U.
S. Geological Survey in Fort Collins, CO, as a Research Biologist. A memorial
service will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Immanuel United Methodist

Gorman, Viola L.   
February 8, 2005 Viola L. Gorman, 93, of 821 Brighton Avenue, Syracuse, died
Tuesday, at Loretto Fahey Nursing Home, Syracuse, following a brief illness.
She owned and operated a beauty shop in Syracuse from 1937 - 1946. She later
worked for W.T. Grants in Syracuse for 21 years, retiring in 1974. Viola
enjoyed traveling and reading. She had been a member of the Kiwanis Club in
Syracuse. Viola had been active at the Salvation Army Adult Day Program. Viola
married Clarence E. "Hy" Gorman on August 31, 1946 in Syracuse. Hy died on
March 2, 1971. Survivors: one sister, Flora Babcock of Canastota; and several
nieces and nephews. Services: 4 p.m. Saturday, February 12, 2005 at the J.

February 3, 2005 Christine Deloris "Tee Thang" Hines-Odom, 62, of 2017 Midland
Ave, went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, surrounded by family and
friends. She was a member of Refuge Temple of Syracuse. She leaves to cherish
her memory one daughter,Callie Ann McKinney; three sisters, Elaine Morman, Pam
Hines and Mildred Zinn; and one brother, Harry Hines all of Syracuse; three
grandchildren, DaShon Hines, Terrance Hines and Janeese McKinney; nine

Jones, Reuben W.   
February 7, 2005 Reuben W. Jones, 89, of Oneida, died Monday at Oneida
Healthcare Center. Formerly of Nedrow, he was a member of the Snipe Clan of
the Onondaga Nation. He was a member of the Jamesville Grange. He ran track
for Central High and Alfred Uni-versity, enjoying most sports. Survived by his
wife of 50 years, Lucita Wheelock Jones; one daughter, Maija McLaughlin of
Syracuse; and several nieces and nephews. Services: 11 a.m. Friday at the
Butler-Badman Funeral Home, Inc., 4504 W. Seneca Tnpk., Syracuse. Interment,

Laure, James A. "Jim"   
February 8, 2005 James "Jim" A. Laure, 63, of Kirsch Drive, Mattydale, died
Tuesday at his home. Jim was the son of the late Vincenzo and Helen Laure and
was a life resident of Mattydale. He retired in 1996 after 26 years as a truck
driver for Edgecomb Metals in Liverpool. He was predeceased by his wife Eileen
"Midge" in 2000 and his brother William "Bill" Laure in December. He is
survived by a daughter, Kelly (Art) Lux of Baldwinsville; two sons, Keith
Laure with whom he resided, Leon (Darlene) Hubert of Syracuse; four
grandchildren, Mackenzie, Nicholas, Ryan, and Saren. Funeral services will be
10 a.m. Friday in St. Margaret's Church, in Mattydale. Burial will be in

Milazzo, Fanny   
February 9, 2005 Fanny Milazzo, 69, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister,
aunt, and friend to all who came in contact with her, was called home to our
Lord on Wednesday, February 9, 2005. She passed away after a courageous battle
with a lengthy illness. She was born in Mount Morris, NY, to the late Mamie
and Charles Sciarrino. She was predeceased by her brother, Anthony Sciarrino.
She lived most of her life in Syracuse and attended St. John the Baptist
School. Through the years she was employed by Hall and McChesney, Agway,
General Electric and J&J Automotive. She was a member of the Red Hat Society
and a communicant of St. Margaret's Church in Mattydale. Survivors: her
beloved and devoted husband of 42 years, Richard (Dick); daughter, Debbie
(John) Venner of Syracuse; sons, Angelo (Cheryl) Milazzo of Clay and Richard
(Irene) Milazzo of Cicero; four grandchildren, John and Jason Venner, Victoria
Milazzo and Nicholas Milazzo; sisters, MaryLou Fiacchi and Angie Brauchle;
several nieces, nephews; in-laws, Ann Sciarrino, Gen and Gene Rector and
Charles and Antoinette Milazzo; cousins and many faithful friends. She leaves

Moore, Katherine S.   
February 3, 2005 Katherine S. Moore, 84, of Syracuse, died Thursday at
Community General Hospital. She was born in Syracuse to the late Edward and
Katherine Moore. She graduated from Convent School in 1938 and Georgian Court
College in Lakewood New Jersey in 1942. She worked as a lab tech for Sealtest
Ice Cream for five years. She retired from American Airlines after 31 years as
a supervisor in the city ticket offices in downtown Syracuse. After retirement
she was a volunteer for the Everson Museum, Community General Hospital, and
she loved to play bridge. She belonged to Zonta International, the Zonta Club
of Syracuse, and Bellevue Country Club. She is predeceased by her sister, Mary
Maloney; and nephew, John Tucker Maloney. Survived by her niece, Mary Kathleen
Maloney who invites friends to a celebratory Mass at 10 a.m. Saturday in St.
Ann's Church, Onondaga Blvd., followed by burial services in St. Mary's

Murphy, Arnold W. "Jack"   
February 8, 2005 Arnold W. "Jack" Murphy, 79, of Baldwinsville, died Tuesday.
Born in Ft. Fairfield, Maine, he retired as an aircraft mechanic for Airex
Aviation in Syracuse and had previously worked for Franklin Engine. Mr. Murphy
was very active in aviation and was an avid outdoorsman. He is survived by his
loving wife of 51 years, the former, Olga Koennecke; sons, Brent (Linda)
Murphy of Florida and Lynn (Darlene) Murphy of Baldwinsville; daughters,
Laurie (Steve) Coulter of Baldwinsville and Cynthia (David) Carman of
Groveland; brothers, Richard and Forrest Murphy of Maine; nine grandchildren;
one great-grandchild. Services will be private. There will be no calling

February 6, 2005 Evelyn J. Olusczak, 86, of Auburn, died Sunday. Surviving are
a daughter, Beverly Donovan of TX; a son, John Olusczak of Auburn; five
grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. No public calling hours. Services

Peterson Jr., Carl W.   
February 7, 2005 Carl W. Peterson, Jr., Venice, Florida, was the son of Judge
Carl W. Peterson, and his wife, Anna Fisher Peterson. He attended Ilion (NY)
public schools, graduated Phi Beta Kappa from Hamilton College in Clinton, NY,
and from Cornell Law School in Ithaca, NY. In 1957 Carl entered the U.S. Air
Force and served three years in the Judge Advocate General's department. He
became associated with the Syracuse law firm of Estabrook, Burns, Hancock and
White in 1960, and later joined the legal department of the City of Syracuse
where he became Corporation Counsel of the City in 1968. In 1970 he became a
partner in the law firm of Hancock and Estabrook, where he remained until his
retirement in 1997. Mr. Peterson participated in bar association and other
civic activities. He served as Director and President of the Onondaga County
Bar Association, Director and President of the Hiscock Legal Aid Society, and
Chairman of the Fourth Department Attorney Grievance Committee. He was also a
longtime Director and President of the Former Volunteer Center of Syracuse and
an organizing Director of PEACE, the Syracuse anti-poverty organization. Mr.
Peterson married Virginia Wood in 1957, who survives him. He is also survived
by two sons, Carl W. Peterson, III, of Syracuse, David H. Peterson; a
daughter-in-law, Julia M. Peterson; and two grandchildren, Spenser and Olivia,
all of Gloucester, Massachusetts. Services will be held at 10:30 on Friday,
February 11, 2005 at The Ewing Funeral Home, 140 E. Venice Ave, in Venice. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Association for Retarded
Citizens, 600 South Wilbur Avenue, Syracuse, NY.

Reeves Jr., Ralph "Jerry"   
February 8, 2005 Mr. Reeves, 45, of Charlotte, North Carolina, died on
February 8, 2005, at Carolinas Medical Center-Charlotte following a massive
brain hemorrhage. Jerry was born February 24, 1959, in Syracuse, New York, and
was a graduate of Lafayette High School. He had resided in the Central New
York area prior to moving to Charlotte in 1986. At the time of his death, Mr.
Reeves was employed by Truck Air of Charlotte. He is survived by his children,
Bryana and Travis, and their mother Karen LaVeck of Charlotte; mother, Martha
Ford and stepfather John Barrella of Charleston, SC; father, Ralph J. Reeves
Sr. and stepmother Jane of Apopka, FL; sister, Terrie Goss of Myrtle Beach,
SC; brothers, Steve Reeves of Concord, CA, and Craig Reeves of St. Joseph, PA;
grandmother, Doris Howe of Saratoga Springs, NY; several aunts, uncles and
cousins. Jerry, we love you more than you know. A memorial service will take
place Friday, February 11, at 3 p.m. at Pleasant Hills Presbyterian Church,
15000 York Rd., Charlotte. There will also be a memorial service in the spring
in Kirkville, NY. Interment will take place in Kirkville, NY. In lieu of
flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Carolina Medical

She was born in Sanford, FL and had been a resident of Syracuse most of her
life where she was a homemaker. Predeceased by her father, James Edwards;

grandmother, Rosalee Jones; niece, Doris Coleman. Survivors: Her daughter,
Aronda Renee (Hilton) Jackson-Sirman of Rochester, NY; mother, Alma M.
Edwards; sister, Virginia Tyler-Jackson of Syracuse; brother, Deacon James
