"Peggy" Barlow, 80, of North Port, FL, and former resident of Port Charlotte, FL died Thursday, February 10, 2005 at Peace River Regional Medical Center, Port Charlotte. She was born December 13,1924 in Nitro, West Virginia and moved to Port Charlotte in 1979 from North Syracuse, New York. She was a member of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, the St. Vincent de Paul Society, and the Friendship Club of Port Charlotte. Peggy was active for many years as a volunteer with Habitat for Humanity, the first hospice, Hospice of Charlotte, and Meals-On-Wheels. She is survived by many nieces and nephews; and many friends in the community. She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Barlow. A Memorial Mass will be held Friday 10 a.m. February 25, 2005 at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Port Charlotte. Inurnment will be at a later date in New York. She was a communicant of St. Vincent dePaul Church and a member of Altar Rosary Society and Happy Roamers. She worked for Catholic Diocese of Syra-cuse under Bishop Forey as a cook and a cleaning person for many years. She was predeceased by her husband Frederick Barnello in 1963 and her son Gerald Barnello in 1980. Survived by her son David Barnello; three sisters, Loretta Bamerick of Liverpool, Edith Sanders of Nedrow and Shirley Swidowski of Binghamton; several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Bogdonoff was raised in Syracuse, NY before moving to Tampa, FL where she resided for over 50 years. She was a member of Congregation Rodeph Sholom, Rodeph Sholom Sisterhood, was a life member of Hadassah and through the American Council of Jewish Women, provided food service for senior citizens at the JCC. Devine, Catherine Eggleston February 12, 2005 Catherine Eggleston Devine, 96, died Saturday in Reston, VA. Catherine was born in Jessup, PA and resided most of her adult life in the Binghamton area. She moved to Syracuse in 1989 and has lived in Reston since 1993. Catherine began her working career at a mail order company in Binghamton where she received high praise for her penmanship. She worked as a telephone operator for New York Telephone in Binghamton, Elmira, and the Ithaca areas. She enjoyed participating in a bridge group consisting of New York Telephone Company operators. She was a member of the Altar and Rosary Society of St. Christopher's Church in Binghamton. Catherine enjoyed cooking, sewing and gardening. Catherine was well known for her skill as a baker and enjoyed making her famous chocolate cookies, gingerbread men and apple pies. Catherine was predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Bernard V. Devine, who died in 1996; her daughter Barbara Ruggles; four brothers, Charlie, Donald, Bill and Jack Eggleston; and her sister Rose Quilter. She is survived by three sons, John Z. Mr. Drosse was the husband of the late Joyce (Bundy) Drosse, who died in 1999. He was the son of the late Anton and Maria Anna (Baumgartner) Drosse. He andhis wife moved to Oswego in 1982. Born and raised in New York City, he was a lieutenant with the New York City Fire Dept., retiring with 27 years of service. He was an active member of various fire dept. associations. Rudy and his wife Joyce together enjoyed collecting antiques and travelling. He was an accomplished woodworker and a talented cartoon illustrator. He is survived by a son, Richard Drosse of Oswego; a daughter, Barbara Marie Drosse of Ottawa, Canada; and two grandchildren, Olivia Catherine Seay, and Owen Rudolf Seay of Ottawa. She lived in the Syracuse area most of her life. Ruth was a longtime active member of Pebble Hill Presbyterian Church and various church groups. She was an early advocate of natural foods and was a member of the New York Natural Foods Association. She was a member of the Manlius Herb Society. February 12, 2004 On Saturday, February 12, Lois Lynch Park, with her loving children at her side, returned to her Lord and Savior. Mrs. Park, a retired artist, had been stricken on January 31 and succumbed after a brief illness. She had just celebrated her 90th birth-day in December. Up until her final illness, she continued to live independently at home. Mrs. Park was born in 1914, the fourth of six children of Thomas and Louise (Conley) Lynch of Syracuse. Her father, Capt. Lynch, was a dedicated member of the Syracuse police dept. for his entire career. She married Donald R. Park of Syracuse in 1946. After a brief residence in Syracuse, they moved to North Syracuse in 1947 and became communicants of St. Rose of Lima Church. She assisted her husband in many ways, in particular with the success of Bowling Green Lanes, which Mr. Park founded and owned for many years. Together they faced many trials, not the least of which was almost losing the business due to a major fire in 1962. Upon her husband's retirement, she resumed her passion for art. She studied at Munson Proctor Williams Institute and at workshop at Syracuse area colleges. She was active in the North Syracuse Art Guild as well as other art associations in Central New York and the Adirondacks. She participated in numerous art shows throughout New York. Mrs. Park was predeceased by her husband of 47 years, Donald R., on October 26, 1993. Surviving are her children, Donald R. (Dana) Park of Greensburg, PA and Janice Park Kenerson of Worcester, MA; three grandchildren, Kristin (David) Adams, Sean and David Park; a sister, Elizabeth Hogan of Cazenovia; and several nieces and nephews. She had retired from Eagle Comtronics and was a cafeteria worker for Phoenix Central Schools. Published in the Syracuse Post Standard on 2/15/2005. Wigler, Clifford Edwin February 13, 2005 Clifford Edwin Wigler, 84, died Sunday at the VA Medical Center in Syracuse after a brief illness. Born in Alden, NY, Mr. Wigler moved to Syracuse after World War II. He served with the legendary "Black Rams", the 460th Fighter Squadronwhere he saw combat in the Phillipines and Japan. Upon his return, he worked for various wholesale food brokers in Central New York, retiring in 1991. He was a communicant and usher at St. John the Baptist Church. He is predeceased by his first wife, M. Helen Wigler in 1991. He is survived by his wife, Virginia of Syracuse; two sons, Mark of Massachusetts, Christopher of Syracuse; a daughter, Jennifer Niemeyer of Tennessee; a stepson, Paul Groth of Liverpool; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Thursday in the Pirro & Sons Funeral Home. Burial will be in Assumption Cemetery. Wilson, 78, of Syracuse, died Friday at Community General Hospital. Decorated WWII veteran. Survived by four sons, Ronald H., Craig H., Gary O., and Rick R. Wilson; one daughter, Freda Chilcote; two brothers, Charles and David Wilson; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three nieces and three nephews.
