Alsip, Ralph Benjamin January 26, 2005 Ralph Benjamin Alsip, 97, of Plant City, FL, died January 26, 2005, in Sun City Center, FL. Born August 19, 1907, in Loda, IL, son of James E. and Ida (Cogswell) Alsip. Married July 3, 1937, to Ruth Lindsey at St. Andrew's Church, New Berlin, NY. She passed away August 14, 1997. Survived by one son, David Alsip of Bedford, TX; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Mr. Alsip moved to Florida from Tully, NY, in 1971. HE was a U.S. Navy veteran of WWII and was one of the many that landed at Normandy on D-Day, June 6, 1944, landing on Gold Beach that day. Member of St. Peter's Episcopal Church, Plant City, FL, and Phoebus Masonic Lodge #82 F&AM, New Berlin. Funeral services were held in Plant City, Florida, on February 3, 2005. He was born in Syracuse and was a resident of Liverpool for 43 years. Michael retired from the Veterans Hospital; prior to working there he was a professional photographer. Mr. Calogero was a member of the Salina Seniors and was a communicant of Immaculate Heart of Mary Church. February 17, 2005 David J. Taylor, 68, of Mallory, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, February 17, 2005 while at Strong Memorial Hospital, Rochester. Born in Canastota, he had lived in the Hastings/Mallory area most of his life. He was a graduate of Central Square High School and a US Navy Veteran. Mr. Taylor retired in 1997 after 34 years with the Syracuse Police Department. He was a past member of the Syracuse Police Benevolent Association and a member of the Syracuse and Central New York Retirees Association. Surviving are his wife of 45 years, the former, Nancy Rood; a daughter, Debbie DeWolf of North Syracuse; four sons, David, Jr. of Syracuse, Michael of Fulton, Daniel of Mallory and Andrew of Kingston, NY; a brother, Floyd of Hastings; several grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
