He served as supervisor for the town of Fabius for several years, and was a member of the Fabius Fire Department. A graduate of Gloversville High School, she worked as a bookkeeper at the former Shine Enterprises in Gloversville, and also as a bank teller at the former Fulton County National Bank and Trust Company, also in Gloversville. Mrs. Rostron was a member of Fremont Street United Methodist Church, Gloversville. On October 21, 1933 she married Edward J. Rostron who died March 30, 1995. She was born in Smith Basin, NY, and grew up in Fulton, moving to Syracuse after she was married. She retired as a telephone op-erator with Consolidated Industries. She was featured in the 1/2004 Post-Standard Women of Great Expectations Edition. She was a communicant of St. John the Baptist Church where she was a member of the Legion of Mary and volunteered for numerous church activities. She was a member of the Third Order of St. Francis at Assumption Church, Ida Benderson Senior Citizens, and Catholic Charities. She liked to travel with different senior citizens groups. She was an avid crocheter and made hundreds of children's hats which she donated to St. Jude's Ranch, Boystown, and the blind at The Lighthouse. Her husband Salvatore died in 1964.
