She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1998 and her daughter Diana A. McLaughlin in 1994. Survivors: two daughters, Mary Lou McAllister of E. Bailey, Ernest Merrill February 24, 2005 Mr. Ernest M. Bailey, 87, formerly of Bridgeport, died Thursday, February 24, 2005, at Wesley Long Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday at Flat Rock United Methodist Church. The family will greet friends following the service in the church fellowship hall. A native of Syracuse, New York, Mr. Bailey was born on November 10, 1917, the son of Merrill and Mary Harrington Bailey. He was retired from the Carrier Corporation. On May 14, 1938, he married Muriel Agatha LaGrange. Following Mr. Bailey's retirement they moved from Bridgeport, NY, to the Oakside Retirement Community in Zephyrhills, FL, and most recently to Countryside Village in Stokesdale. Regardless of where they lived, Mr. Bailey knew no strangers, was involved in his community, and embraced life. He was a member of the Bridgeport Volunteer Fire Company and for over 60 years, a member of the Nortrip Lodge. To honor Ernie's spirit, the family hopes that all would live as he did - loving his family and serving his community. Ernest is survived by his wife of 66 years, Agatha; daughters, Patricia Bailey and her life partner Dee Irwin of Summerfield, NC, Donna Mackie and her husband Angus of Cooperstown, NY; three grandchildren, Morgan and Kyle Mackie, and Thi Lynn Gallen; brother-in-law Gary LaGrange of Fort Myers, Fla.; and nephew James Bailey Jr. of Bridgeport, NY. John was a graduate of St. Anthony's High School, RIT, and received his master's in social work from SU. He was employed by Rosewood Heights Health Center as a social worker. Hinshaw, Andrea Lucy February 22, 2005 Andrea Lucy Hinshaw, 20, died Tuesday. She was a resident of Pound, Virginia. Her hometown was Constantia, New York. Andrea was a 2001 graduate of P. V. Moore High School in Central Square. While attending high school, she was amember of the German Club and of the Marching Band. She also participated in Drum Line competitions. In middle school, she received an award for initiating the "Random Acts of Kindness" program. She shared her special creativity at a local florist and assisted in the Admissions Office of Onondaga Community College. She is survived by her mother, Grace Mollura Marticello; father and stepmom, Ronald and Betty Hinshaw; paternal grandparents, Ruth and Bill Russell of Cicero; maternal aunt, Sally Mollura of Kansas City, MO; her brothers and sisters, Daniel and James Marticello, David and Kevin Hinshaw, Penny and Honey-Beth Nelson, Ed and Brad Nelson. She was born March 30, 1924 in Watertown, daughter of Lawrence and Minnie Bartlett Knowlton. She attended local schools. She married Walter Matkoski. He died previously. She worked as anadmissions advisor, assisting high school students pursuing acceptance at their preferred college. She was presently working on her doctorate in higher education administration at Columbia University. Andrea had a love of travel.
