February 25, 2005 Patricia A. Auth, 75, a life resident of Syracuse, went to be with the Lord on Friday. Patricia, the daughter of Anna Mae and Dorr Putnam, born on February 12, 1930, was a graduate of St. Lucy's Academy in 1947. Patricia was a telephone op-erator at the New York Telephone Company from 1947 to 1953, where she met her lifelong best friend, Clifford H. Auth. Patricia left the New York Telephone Company in 1953 to be a homemaker and with her husband to raise their six children. In addition, Patricia served as a Girl Scout leader, was a founding member of the local Home Bureau chapter and held office on St. Daniel's Parish Council for many years. Patricia retired from Addis-Dey's Department Store, where she worked for 15 years. She was a member and officer of St. Joseph's Hospital Auxiliary for 15 years. Patricia and her husband Clifford took great pride in being members in the Franciscan Associate Program for many years. Patricia was predeceased by her sister, Rosemary McCrohan; brother-in-law, Lynn Holley; and sisters-in-law, Marion Holley and Marigert Putnam. Her family includes her husband of 52 years, Clifford Henry Auth Sr.; sons: David of San Diego, Patrick of Philadelphia, Peter (Amanda) of Lysander, Reverend Clifford Auth of the Syracuse Diocese; daughters, Diane of North Syracuse, Anna Mae (David) Stone of East Syracuse; brothers, John Putnam (Helen) of Syracuse, Patrick Putnam (Ruth Ann) of Jacksonville, FL, and a beloved brother-in-law James McCrohan of Kenmore, NY; grandsons: Christopher Ezzo, Corey Stone, Cameron and Kyle Lattianzio; twin granddaughters, Patricia and Mary Spuches; and many nieces and nephews. Leska, Sister Alexandra February 26, 2005 Sister Alexandra Leska, 88, of Syracuse, died Saturday at Wilson Center. Sister was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Frank J. and Theresa Liedka Leska, and named Frances Anna. She entered the Sisters of St. Francis on September 8,1931, and professed Final Vows on August 20, 1938. Sister was awarded a B.S. and an M.S. in education from the College of St. Rose, Albany. She was a teacher many years in New York, New Jersey and California. She was predeceased by a sister, Mary VanAlstyne. Survivors: two sisters, Theresa Evans of Syracuse and Margaret Piedmonte of Brewerton, and several nieces and nephews. Losurdo, Joseph February 27, 2005 Joseph Losurdo, 86, of 130 West Schuyler St., Oswego, died Sunday after a short illness. Mr. Losurdo was born in Oswego, the son of the late Antonio and Anna Losurdo. He was a welder for 22 years for General Electric, Syracuse, and re-tired from SUNY Oswego after 11 years as a maintenance supervisor. Mr. Losurdo served in the United States Navy from 1937 to 1945. He was a member of the VFW Quattrini Dehm Post 5885 and the Dante Alighieri. He was predeceased by one sister, Nancy Plata. Mr. Losurdo is survived by his wife of 54 years, Mary Costa Losurdo of Oswego; one son, Richard (Catherine) Losurdo of Oswego; one daughter, Joan (Richard) Goodman of Oswego; two sisters, Betty Brown and Mary Daly, both of Oswego; five grandchildren: Richard, Jennifer, Craig and Anthony Losurdo, and Michael Goodman; five great-grandchildren. Lyon, Anna February 27, 2005 Anna Lyon, 83, died Sunday in Crouse Hospital. Mrs. Lyon was born in Pulaski, TN, and was a resident of Syracuse. In 1950 she was a co-founder and associated with her late husband for 55 years in the Alex Lyon & Son Livestock Company, which later became the Alex Lyon & Son Auction Company. Mrs. Lyon was a member of Temple Beth El and active in their sisterhood and Hadassah. Mrs. Lyon was predeceased in 1994 by her husband of 45 years, Alex. February 27, 2005 John F. McCullough, 80, of Cazenovia, died Sunday at St. Joseph's Hospital in Syracuse. He was a life resident of Cazenovia. He was an Army veteran of WWII and a former member of American Legion Post #88. Mr. McCullough retired in 1991 from theMadison County Transfer Station in Cazenovia. He formerly owned McCullough Brothers Mobile Station in Cazenovia. He was a life member of the Owaghena Hose Company of the Cazenovia Fire Dept. "Red" Moran, 71, of 6204 Blackmans Corner, died early Saturday, February 26, 2005, at St. Elizabeth Medical Center, Utica, with his family at his side. Red was born June 20, 1933, in Pittsburgh, PA, son of the Honorable James Peter and Nora B. Devlin Moran. Red was a graduate of Turtle Creek High School of PA and the New School at the former Griffis Air Base. Between 1953-1957, Red proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy. On November 24, 1955, in San Diego, CA, Red was united in marriage with the former Audrey Ingold. The couple had made Verona their home for the past 46 years. Prior to his retirement in 1993, Red was employed as a systems analyst at the former Griffis Air Force Base (RADC). Red was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Church, Verona, a lifetime member of the NRA, a member of Greenfield Fish and Game Club of Trenton, NY, the Ancient Order of Hibernians Tom Dooley Chapter of Syracuse, and in earlier years coached Little League baseball and basketball in Verona. He was also past president of the Verona Council of Churches. Surviving besides his wife of 49 years are one son, Dennis of Utica; one daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Thomas Cavanaugh of Kirkville; seven grandchildren: Kate, Siobhan, James, Luke, Declan, Liam and Colin; and several nieces and nephews. Morey, 87, of Hickok Avenue, Syracuse, passed away Friday, February 25, at St. Joseph's Hospital. She was born February 25, 1918, in Syracuse and had resided there her entire life. She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 1994.She retired from the Onondaga County Clerk's Office in 1989, serving as Abstract Department supervisor and as secretary to the County Clerk. She was a member of Morning Star Chapter #289 and Calvary Chapter #752 Order of the Eastern Star. She was a past matron of Calvary Chapter and served as secretary of the organization from 1955 to 1987. She also held the position of District Deputy Grand Matron of Onondaga District. She was a past president of Huntington Elementary School Mothers' Club, past president of Eastwood Junior High School Parents' Group, active in the Eastwood Cub Scouts and in the Eastwood Little League. Survivors include her son, Scott (Roxanne) of Pleasant Plains, IL; grandsons, Brian (Theresa) of Syracuse and Andrew Goldsby of Pleasant Plains, IL; and several nieces and nephews. She graduated from Nottingham High Schooland was predeceased by her two husbands, Clark VanDeren in 1975 and Stuart Rogers in 1979, and sisters, Deborah and Laura. She retired as the bookkeeper for the First Presbyterian Church in Syracuse. Mrs. Rogers was a past president of the board of trustees of University United Methodist Church. She volunteered for Friends of Burnet Park Zoo. She enjoyed playing bridge at the former Wagon Wheel, square dancing and watching the Syracuse Chiefs.
