Dukat, of Liverpool, passed away Sunday at home. Jackee was a graduate of Liverpool High School and a member of its Winter Color Guard and marching band. Jackee loved playing sports. She was a pitcher with her soft-ball team, a member of the Monday Flamingo Ladies bowling league, and also enjoyed playing Bocce. Jackee enjoyed camping and traveling with her mom, family and friends. (Parisi) January 18, 2005 Nina G. (Parisi) Forestiere, age 91, of Syracuse, passed away Tuesday at The Jewish Home. Nina was born and educated in Syracuse. She worked selflessly as a homemaker and was co-owner with her husband, Sandy, of PlazaLiquors in Camillus until the mid-1970's. Nina was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and she was preceded in death by her husband, Sandy Forestiere in 1976 and her daughter, Angela Ragusa of Tampa, FL in 2003. She is survived by her daughter, Connie Forestiere of Baldwinsville; and three grandchildren, Thomas Haskell of Baldwinsville and Stephanie and Christian Ragusa of Tampa as well as, several nieces and nephews. For many years prior to her illness, Nina was a parishioner of Our Lady of Pompei Church where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and was a member of the St. Therese Society. January 18, 2005 Grace E. Lockwood, 76, of St. Rte. 104, Oswego, passed into the presence of her Lord on Tuesday, January 18, 2005. Born on June 3, 1928, to Bernard and Charlene Wellwood, Grace lived in Fulton until her marriage to Fred R. Lockwood on June5, 1949, after which the Lockwood's resided in Southwest Oswego. In 1952, while attending Southwest Oswego Baptist Church, Grace received Jesus Christ as her Saviour and was a living example of God's love to those around her. A proficient homemaker, Grace enjoyed creating an atmosphere of generous hospitality for family and friends as well as traveling to a variety of places across the country with her husband and children. Beyond her home, Grace was actively involved in teaching children's bible clubs and Sunday school, as well as a broad interest in missionary work around the world as a devoted member of the Oswego Alliance Church. After being diagnosed with cancer in 1980, God granted Grace another 24 years to serve Him; to enjoy golden years with her husband; to rejoice in her children's marriages and enjoy all of her 12 grandchildren. A lifetime resident of the Syracuse area, he was a graduate of North High School and a member of Alpha Zeta fraternity. He graduated from Syracuse Uni-versity Class of 1939 where he was a member of Beta Theta Pi and a member of the Honorary Society Sigma Delta Chi. Subsequent to graduation from the University, Mr. Rapp went to work for General Electric Company until 1946. He was General Manager of Illingworth Bailey Pontiac until 1954 at which time he purchased the company. He then moved it from 573 E. Genesee St. to its current location at the corner of Burnet Ave. and Thompson Rd. He served and participated in many activities among which are, president of the Westvale Club, Syracuse Optimist Club, Syracuse University Alumni Club, Stidnab Inc., and Lake Shore Yacht and Country Club. He was a member of the Board of Directors of the Syracuse Chamber of Commerce. He served as Superintendent of Sunday School at 1st English Lutheran Church. He was also a member of the Konosioni Lodge 950 F. &A.M., the University Club, the Royal Palm Yacht and Country Club in Boca Raton, Florida, Past President of the Syracuse Automobile Dealers Association, and was a member of the Golfing Bandits and Syracuse University Society of Fellows. Born in Frankfort, he was a longtime resident of Moyers Corners until moving to Fulton in 1993. Fred was service manager for Reliable Farm Supply; he also worked for the Town of Clay as anequipment technician and managed Hidden Harbor Marina in Point Peninsula over 30 years. He was a member of the Loyal Order of the Moose, Baldwinsville and enjoyed fishing, camping, jigsaw puzzles, playing pinochle and Sunday morning polkas. Fred was a World War II veteran, having worked with the CCC's before the war. He is predeceased by his son, Chester who died in 1978 and his devoted wife of 54 years, Agnes, who died January 16, 2005. Fred is survived by his son, Charles (Susan) Romanick of Syracuse; his daughter, Evelyn (Pete) Andrews of Phoenix; a stepdaughter, Wanda (Winn) Hoeller of Clinton; a brother, Leo Romanick of Utica; sisters, Rose Kuzniar of Utica, Josie Hudyma, Helen Czeck, and Dora Roik of Fulton; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren. January 15, 2005 Mark D. Romano, 47, of Westvale, passed away on Saturday after a long battle with a heart disease. A lifelong resident of Syracuse, he graduated from Syracuse University School of Law and was a self-employed attorney, practic-ing all aspects of law. Mr. Romano served his country as a Quartermaster & Chaplain in the U.S. Navy, where he received several meritorious medals for outstanding achievement. Predeceased by his father, Joseph N. Romano Jr. who passed away October 12, 2004. Survivors: his loving mother, Rose Caramella Romano; sister, Susan (Mark) LaFaver; godson and nephew, TJ Widas; two nieces, Nichole and Mary; many aunts, uncles and cousins. Simeone died at his home in Syracuse on Monday, January 10, 2005, following a valiant battle with an illness. Dr. Simeone was born in Providence, Rhode Island, November 20, 1919, the son of Antonio and Antonia Simeone. He was educated at the University of Rhode Island, Yale School of Forestry and Cornell University. He served as a naval officer in World War II, rising to the rank of Lieutenant (Sr. Grade) and participating in Normandy and other amphibious campaigns. He continued as a Naval Reserve Commander, chairing both the Onondaga Reserve Association and the Military Officers Association. Dr. Simeone joined the SUNY College of Environmental Science and Forestry in 1948 as an entomologist with a specialty in ecology and expertise in insects causing wood deterioration. He taught a variety of entomology and ecology courses, chaired the Entomology Department 1962-77 and then the Environmental and Forest Biology Faculty at its inception (1977-1982), ultimately serving the College for more than 55 years. Traveling and studying internationally, Dr. Simeone wrote a seminal book on chemical ecology, and co-founded the international Journal (and Society) of Chemical Ecology in 1975. Following retirement from the College in 1983, Dr. Simeone continued to assist in insect identification and the biology of wood boring insects, and he and his wife Henrietta established a Graduate Fellowship in Forest Entomology. He was recognized nationally through the L.O. Howard Distinguished Achievement Award, and by faculty colleagues as an Illustrious Emeritus Professor in 2003. Dr. Simeone is survived by his wife, Henrietta (McDermott); two sisters, Michelina Rubiano and Columba Mathieu; and nieces and nephews. Plans for a memorial service will be provided at a later time. St. Pierre, Sister Theresa Bernard St. Pierre, CSJ January 17, 2005 Sister Theresa Bernard St. Pierre, CSJ, 79, the former Ellen Rose St. Pierre, died on January 17, 2005, at Community General Hospital. Sister was born in Syracuse, the daughter of the late Gaston and Helen (Woolever) St. Pierre. She wasin her 58th year of her life as a sister of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Sister Theresa Bernard was a graduate of St. Anthony's School in Syracuse and received bachelor's and master's degrees from the College of St. Rose, Albany. She taught in schools of the Syracuse and Albany Dioceses, including St. Brigid's and St. Patrick's, Syracuse, and served as principal of St. Paul's, Mechanicville, St. Anthony of Padua, Endicott, and St. James' School, Albany. Sister also was a librarian at Bishop Grimes High School, Syracuse. Since 1996 Sister was engaged in family ministry, giving faith-filled support to those dearest to her. Sister Theresa was also an auxiliary member of the Legion of Mary. She was predeceased by a brother, Raymond, and a sister, Rita Donigan. She is survived by her sister, Mary St. Pierre, with whom she resided; a brother and sister-in-law, John and Mary Ellen St. Pierre of Skaneateles; and many nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.
