Sister was born in Syracuse to the late James Carbery and Alice Monahan of Canada and named Patricia. She is predeceased bythree brothers, Jack, Bob and Michael Carbery. She entered the Sisters of St. Francis on September 7, 1948 and professed Final Vows on August 15, 1954. Sister earned a B.S. degree from LeMoyne College and a M.A. from Marywood College in Scranton, PA. She was a teacher and Principal for many years in Syracuse, Utica and Albany, New York and in New Jersey and Ohio. She also ministered in Rome, Italy. He was a 50-year member of the Masonic Lodge 622 F&AM, and a life member and past fire chief with the Central Square Fire Dept. He spent 18 years as an Oswego County fire instructor, and 21 years as Oswego County fire coordinator. He helped organize Oswego County Fire Mutual AID System, was a charter member of the NYS Fire Coordinators Assoc., and a life member of the NYS and Oswego County Fire Chiefs Assoc. He was predeceased by his first wife Beatrice Nelson Struwing in 1973 and granddaughter Heidi in 1970. January 18, 2005 Bruce W. Ward of Bernardsville, died on January 18, 2005 at Morristown Memorial Hospital after a short illness. He was 73. Born in Syracuse, NY, he was a resident of Bernardsville since 1967. He retired in 1998 from Rexam Corp. in Charlotte, NC as Sales Management. An Army veteran of WWII during the Korean conflict, he attended the Bernardsville Presbyterian Church and was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Survivors include his wife, Barbara (Sheppard) Ward; son, Scott S. Ward and his wife, Dorothy L. Percy-Ward of Glendale, CA; daughters, Sandra A. Ward of Morristown, NJ, Deborah A. Ward of Madison, NJ; one grandson, Alexander Percy. Arrangements were by Gallaway & Crane Funeral Home, 101 S. Finley Ave., Basking Ridge. Funeral services were private. Services: Saturday, January 22, at 1 p.m. at Woodard Funeral Home in Greensboro, NC.
