He was the proud owner of his own independant trucking company for the last 25 years. Aldo is survived by his son, Cpt. Breman, 73, of North Syracuse, passed away peacefully on July 3, 2005. "Bill" graduated from Phoenix High School and was a graduate of Oklahoma A&M College and attended St. Lawrence University, where he played varsity football. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran and was stationed in England. He retired after 45 years with New York Telephone Co.'s Special Services Division. He was a renowned taxidermist for over 30 years, an avid hunter and fisherman and loved gardening. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Georgina "Peg," of 55 years and beloved son, Richard. He is survived by his beloved children, Linda, Deborah, Jill and Mark; a sister, Barbara, and nephew, Bruce Dauer; 19 grandchildren; and Rocky, Tiger and Fuser, his loving cats. Donald, Helen B. June 11, 2005 Helen B. Donald, of Syracuse, passed away June 11, 2005, with her son and daughter by her side. She was born April 29, 1909, the daughter of Ida and Anthony Malinowski, in Vilna, Poland. She moved to the U.S. at the age of three. She was a 1929 graduate of Herkimer High School, and she graduated from Ithaca College in 1933. After college Helen worked for the federal government where she supervised federal social service programs for five counties in CNY. In 1957, she began a teaching career in English and speech therapy with the Frankfort Schuyler Central School System where she started the first Speech Therapy Department for the school system, retiring in 1978 and moving to Syracuse to be closer to her children. She remained active in the Strathmore Neighborhood Watch Association, the Canastota Garden Club and the Humane Society. Helen is survived by one son, Peter C. Donald; one daughter, Cynthia L. Papworth; grandchildren, Paige and Taylor Papworth; and great-grandson, John Papworth, all of Syracuse. She was predeceased by her husband, Myrem Lehr Donald; two brothers; one sister; and son-in-law, John T. Papworth. Arrangements will be held at a later date at the convenience of her family. Field, Grace Newell Downes Downes Field June 26, 2005 Grace Newell Downes Field died recently at age 93. She was a member of the former Lafayette Avenue United Methodist Church and the First Methodist Church of Syracuse, where she was a soprano soloist. She graduated from Syracuse University, where she also earned a degree in library science. She taught English at Elbridge Central School and was the rare books librarian at Syracuse University. She then became head librarian and full professor of Onondaga Community College. Mrs. Downes Field organized the first library on the new campus of OCC on Onondaga Hill. In addition to being a member of Syracuse's Corinthian Club, she enjoyed fishing in Henderson Harbor, Chaumont Bay and Otisco Lake, NY. She was preceded in death by her first husband, Dr. Ralph L. Downes, who practiced internal medicine from his home office on South Salina St., Syracuse. She is survived by her husband, John W. Field of Florida; her sister, Hope Newell Tuxill of Syracuse; her two children, Dr. Mary Grace Downes Gastrich, NJ, and Dr. Ralph Newell Downes, WA, and their children, John Gunther Gastrich and Catherine Grace Gastrich Sandak, Ralph Downes and Christopher Downes; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter, Sage and Sicily Downes. Guszcza, John July 7, 2005 John Guszcza, 77, of Standart Woods Apartments, died unexpectedly Thursday July 7, 2005, at his home. Born in Auburn, the son of the late Kontanty and Julia Sroczyk Guszcza, he was a resident of Central New York all his life. He recieved his bachelor's degree from Syracuse University and his master's degree from SUNY Albany. He also attended Oswego State College and Oneonta College and received an administrative certificate. John had a long-standing interest in European culture and classical music. He was an Army and Marine Corps veteran, serving in the military from 1945 to 1946 and 1952 to 1955. John was a member of the first Marine Association, the V.F.W. and the American Legion. Surviving are his sons, James of California and Joseph of Weedsport; his former wife, Helen Sue Guszcza of Weedsport; three brothers: Joseph of Lowville, NY; Walter of Texas; and Bernard and his wife, Hui Chi, of Oneonta; two sisters, Mary Antonucci and her husband Frank of Oneonta and Victoria Kyrtak of Auburn; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews. He was employed by LaFayette School District at the Onondaga Nation School. He was captain of the Onondaga Nation Vol. Fire Dept., which he was instrumental in rekindling, a member of Six Nations Agricultural Society and the Red Knights Motorcycle Club. He was a wonderful husband, father, brother, uncle and friend. He was an avid paintball player, a student of martial arts and a NYS certified security guard. His mother, Velda, died in 1991; his father, David, died in 2002; and his brother, David, died in 2003. Anthony is survived by his wife of 19 years, Mari; two sons and a daughter, Anthony, Allias and Libbie, all of the Onondaga Nation; four brothers: Curtis Waterman of the Onondaga Nation, David W. He was born November 28, 1926, in Perryville, NY, to the late William Hector Pickard and Ora Dunham Pickard. He was also predeceased by an infant daughter, Elizabeth, and a sister, Dorothy Smith. He was a member of Evangel Assembly of God, Chittenango. He retired in 1990 as a machinist at Syracuse Veterans Administration Hospital, where he worked for 13 years. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and served during WWII. He was a 1947 graduate of Cazenovia High School and attended Morrisville College. A native and life resident of Syracuse, he was a lifetime communicant of Assumption Church, president of the Assumption Church ushers for 10 years, longtime treasurer of the Holy Name Society, a Eucharistic minister and a former member of the Golden Agers. Mr. Sabel retired from Cooper Industries (Crouse Hinds) in 1986, after 38 years of employment, and was a member of the Crouse Hinds Retiree Club. He served in the National Guard. She was born in Syracuse on July 24, 1915, and was the daughter of the late James and Mary Camuso. Ann lived in the Syracuse area most of her life where she owned several hair stylist salons. She retired from Ann's Hair Stylists in 1970. She moved to Asheville, N.C., in 1998. Her husband Joseph Sposato, her second husband Michael Charles, brothers William and Charles Camuso, and sisters Carrie Frank, Louise Sciacca and Jenny Elmer, preceded Ann in death.
