Mr. Bowman died Tuesday, June 28, 2005 in Las Vegas. He was born June 29, 1954 in Kankakee, the son of Russell and Nedine Lemenager Bowman. He was a physician's assistant for PHP and Univera. He served in the US Army from 1975 to 1978, stationed in Bamburg, Germany. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and enjoyed skiing, science fiction, computers and drawing. He received his RN degree from Kankakee Community College and attended the physician's assistant training program in Parma, Ohio. Surviving are his mother of Manteno; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Marla and Rasmi Abdallah of Bourbonnais, Mary Ellen and Scott Hyland of Williamsburg, VA, Melanie and Rob Holmes of Merrionnette Park; one brother, Stephen Bowman of Manteno; and many nieces and nephews. Kellogg Carpenter of Seattle, Washington, died July 3, 2005 at home. She was a native of Mexico, New York. She was a graduate of Mexico Academy and Central School and Syracuse University. She received a Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin, and a Master's in Business Administration from City University in Seattle. She also did graduate work in speech pathology at the University of Washington. She was Manager of Rehab Medicine at Children's Hospital, Seattle. Active in the United Methodist Church of Norwood, she served as organist for many years and then as Sunday School Superintendent. She was predeceased by a son, Richard, in 1983 and her husband of 68 years, Hubert, in 2001. McOmber, 97, formerly of 5259 Dayan St., Lowville, NY, passed away peacefully, on Sunday, July 10, 2005, at Van Duyn Home & Hospital, Syracuse, NY, where he had resided for the last nine months to be near his family. Brayton was born in Depauville, NY, on June 8, 1908, the son of Eugene and Hazel McOmber. He graduated from Lowville Academy and RIT in Rochester where he studied for electrical engineer. On August 16, 1931, he married, Mildred Countryman Adams with Rev. Lavis, Pastor of Lowville Methodist Church, officiating at Rev. Lavis Camp on Wellsley Island. He and his wife owned and operated McOmber Electric in Lowville for over 50 years. For many years he was a bee keeper, and sold honey products in local stores. He enjoyed working in his vegetable and flower gardens and attending to the berry patches and fruit trees on their property. He was a member of the Lowville Baptist Church, Lowville Full Gospel Businessmen, Lowville Fire Department, as a volunteer fireman and later as a fire police. He was predeceased by his loving wife Mildred of 69 years in 2001; brother, Harold McOmber at the age 4; grandson, Ross McOmber in 1988, step-great-grandson, Ryan Adams in 2001, and step-great-granddaughter, Kristen Schroy in 2002. (Pillans) Saldana, 63, of Copperas Cove, Texas, passed away Sunday after a short battle with cancer. Mary was born and raised in Baldwinsville, but moved to Los Angeles, California, in 1973. There she met Benjamin A. Saldana; they were married on December 2, 1977. Mary was widowed on December 29, 1998. In 2004, she moved to Copperas Cove, Texas, to be closer to her surviving daughter, Michelle Roberts and her husband Thomas, and her grandson Aidan. Also surviving Mary are her son, Michael Julian, of Oswego, New York, his wife Beth, and their children Michael and Melissa. Mary also leaves behind two sisters, Daisy MacAnn and Jane Palmer, and three brothers, George Pillans, Robert Pillans, and Thomas Pillans. She was employed by The Head Start Preschool Program for 15 years and for the last seven years, was employed at The Early Childhood Center. Her pleasures in life were tropical fish, camping, gardening and most of all, being surrounded by beautiful children. Zentner, Rudolph Leo July 4, 2005 Rudolph Leo Zentner, 87, of Cayuga, died in Lake Placid, Florida. Born in Auburn he was the son of Adolph and Johnanna Dusal Zentner. Mr. Zentner was a Navy veteran of World War II serving in the Pacific. He was past commander of the Donald R. Ward American Legion Post of Cayuga, and during the war worked with the Conservation Corp. He was employed for 30 years at ALCO Power as a machinist. He was a member of the United Methodist Church of Cayuga. Surviving are a daughter, Sharon Weber of Wisconsin; two sons, Thomas of Cayuga and Lake Placid and Frank Zentner of Fairfax, NY, also surviving are six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
