July 12, 2005 John E. Bittel, 58, of 3566 North Lake Rd., Erieville, died Tuesday at his home. John was born in Syracuse and was a long-time resident of Syracuse, graduating from the former Cathedral Academy in 1965. He later worked and resided in Denver, CO, Phoenix, AZ, and Silver Springs, MD, moving to Erieville in 1995. For the past 10 years, John was an independent computer systems consultant and previously was a manager for Choice International Hotels. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a medic during the Vietnam era. He was a member of the Cazenovia Golf Club. He was predeceased by his father, John T. in 1995. Surviving are his mother, Rosemary Bittel of Erieville; a brother, Christopher T. Bittel (Charlene) of Clockville; four sisters, Jacqueline Donigan (Timothy) of Syracuse, Patricia Haley (John) of Cazenovia, Janet Shutters of Solvay and Mary Bartlett (Van) of Erieville and several nieces and nephews. A funeral mass will be held 9 a.m. Monday in St. James Church, Cazenovia. Burial will be in Erieville Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her husband, Bernard Cannon. She is survived by her children, Barbara Wright (Richard) of Doylestown, PA, Sue Massett of Bushnell FL, Frederick Lutzy of Naples, FL, and Karen Tucker (Brian) of Skaneateles, NY; her 15 grandchildren; her 22 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. Dorothy was an avid reader and loved making hooked rugs. Kellogg Carpenter July 3, 2005 Susan E. Kellogg Carpenter of Seattle, Washington, died July 3, 2005 at home. She was a native of Mexico, New York. She was a graduate of Mexico Academy and Central School and Syracuse University. She received a Master's degree from the University of Wisconsin, and a Master's in Business Administration from City University in Seattle. She also did graduate work in speech pathology at the University of Washington. She was Manager of Rehab Medicine at Children's Hospital, Seattle. She is survived by husband, Robert Carpenter; and stepdaughters, Renee Laigo and Heather Carson, all of Seattle. She is also survived by a sister, Joan Hadcock, of Mexico, New York; a niece and nephew and several other relatives. A memorial service will be held in Seattle. Onondaga Hill Lane, Timothy Joseph February 7, 2005 Timothy Joseph Lane, passed away February 7, 2005 at the age of 67 in Tarzana (Los Angeles) CA, his home of 35 years. A graduate of St. Anthony of Padua class of 1955 and attended LeMoyne College. A 15-year member of the Screen Actors Guild (1990-2005) and a former music industry executive with Liberty, Atlantic and Capricorn Records, (1960-1990).He was best known as an actor for his role as a Secret Service Agent in Independence Day with Will Smith. He also appeared in a variety of TV programs including Hunter, Murphy Brown and Dallas. He was a sales and marketing pioneer in the music industry, working with performers Gary Lewis and the Playboys, Jan and Dean, Aretha Franklin, Led Zeppelin, Cream, and the Allman Brother's. He also owned publishing and management companies. Beloved husband of 48 years to Joy (Mulligan) who is a 1956 graduate of Onondaga Valley Academy. Devoted father of Timothy, Michael and Kevin of California and Patrick (Rick) of Maryland. Cherished by his seven grandsons; four granddaughters; 14 nieces (Mikie Downs of Atlanta, GA., Karen Doucette of Baldwinsville); and seven nephews. His grandson, Timothy M. Lane, is currently a student athlete attending Syracuse University. Services were held at Our Lady of Grace Church in Encino, CA. Interment followed at the San Fernando Mission Cemetery & Mausoleum. Stukus, 73, of Syracuse, formerly of LaFayette, passed away July 14. He was born July 13, 1932, in Braddock, PA, to Peter and Gertrude Stukus. He was a graduate of Duquesne University. Peter served in the U.S. Air Force from 1953 to 1955, and was past president of Liverpool Lions Club. He worked in sales for Nichols Business Equipment and Scriptex of Syracuse. Peter was a boy scout leader in LaFayette for several years, enjoyed many summer vacations with family in New Hampshire, attending family events and travel, and following the Pittsburgh Steelers Football Club. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Pauline Claire Bouthillier Stukus; his children, Marie (Mark) Frost, Anne (William) Emm, Jeanne (Joseph) Mallia, Chris Stukus and his fiancee Susan Petrocci, and Paul (Natalie) Stukus; grandchildren, Katie, Patrick and Daniel Frost, Melissa and John Emm, William and Sarah Mallia, Megan and Madeleine Stukus; his brother, Philip (Kathy) Stukus of Granville, OH; and several aunts, an uncle, nieces and nephews.
