Edgarita was born February 26, 1908, in Hannibal, NY, the daughter of the late Daniel and Ida Dickinson Dennison. Before moving to Auburn, she had resided in Port Byron for 10 years, and had resided in the Meridian, Ira and Red Creek area for most of her life. She had been very active in the Calvary Baptist Church, Fair Haven. She, along with her husband Leslie, owned and operated a fruit orchard and marketed the produce at various roadside stands and the Syracuse Regional Market. She is survived by one son, Wilbur (Barbara) Bond of Cato; seven grandchildren, Shelly (Ronald) Coleman, Mark (Cindy) Bond, Michael (LeAnne) Bond, Jeannette (Tony) Hood, Virnard (Diana) O'Bryan, Crystal (James) Currier, Holly Martin; 18 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren. Romanick July 18, 2005 Mrs. Rose Elizabeth (Romanick) Kuzniar, 89, of Clinton, NY, formerly of Trenton Ave., N. Utica, passed away on Monday, July 18, 2005. Rose was born on July 7, 1916, in Frankfort, NY, a daughter of Ukrainian immigrants, Simon and Bertha (Dynys) Romanick, and was a graduate of Utica Free Academy. On October 4, 1941, Rose married Joseph F. Kuzniar in St. Patrick's Church, Utica, a union of 56 years until Joseph's death in 1997. For many years, Rose was proudly employed with St. Elizabeth Hospital, retiring in 1978. She was a member of St. Peter's Church, N. Utica, and its rosary society for over 60 years. She was a board member of The ARC, Oneida-Lewis Chapter, and was the last of the original volunteers at the ARC thrift store which opened in 1980. Rose continued her volunteer work at the thrift store until her most recent illness. She was a director for the state P.L.A.V. and treasurer with Jan Robak Post #8. She was also active in Girl Scouting for 18 years, was a den mother with the boy scouts, and was a member of the West Side Seniors, M.O.T.C., V.O.A. and the United Polka League. Rose was an avid camper and was affectionately known as Rosie by the dealers at the poker room at the Turning Stone Casino. Mrs. Kuzniar is survived by three daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Jack Coleman, Springfield, MO, Dorene and Conrad Dorn, Clinton and Gina and Tom Padgett, Clinton; three sons and two daughters-in-law, Jack and Melinda Kuzniar, Las Cruces, NM, James and Patricia Kuzniar, Fulton, NY, and Jeffrey Kuzniar, Utica; 14 beloved grandchildren, Christine Humphreys, NJ, and Rene Feuerman, MA, who both lovingly traveled home regularly to visit their grandmother, Michael Hawker, Washington State, David Hawker, CA, Joe Babicz, New Hartford, John Kuzniar, FL, Kathryn Kuzniar, NM, Garrett Rinehard, Clinton, Matt Rinehard, New Hartford, Lisa Kuzniar, MA, Michelle Robinson, Chittenango, A.J. Sherman, 61, of East Syracuse, died unexpectedly Sunday at his home. Born in Auburn, he was the son of the late Ralph F. and Lois Hooper Sherman. Edward was employed for 36 years with Carrier Corporation as a machinist, retiring in 2003. He was a Army veteran serving in the Vietnam War. Edward was an avid hunter and fisherman and was a member of the Weedsport Rod & Gun Club and Fosterville Methodist Church. He is survived by his son, William E. Young, Shirley Ann (La Plante) Young July 11, 2005 Shirley Ann Young, born May 8, 1936, passed on July 11, 2005, to be with her sister, brothers, mother, father and friends, where there is no fear, no sadness and no illness. Shirley was a very ambitious and productive woman for most of her life.She co-owned Sherry's Fabric Store in Bridgeport with her sister-in-law, Terry Young, who she is now with. She owned Shirley's Diner in Jamesville and Shirley's Diner on Rt. 31 Canastota. We have missed this Shirley for a few years now but she will be forever in our hearts. She may have been petite in size but she was enormous in courage and strength. She never complained or asked "why me?". She just accepted what was and did the best that she could.
