Born in Jamesville, he was a life-resident of LaFayette. He retired in December 2004 from New Process Gear following 54 years of service as a Job Setter. He was a memberof the UAW Local 624 in East Syracuse and was a member of the Onativia United Methodist Church. Mr. Buckley was a true family man; he particularly enjoyed attending his grandson's baseball games. An avid outdoorsman he also enjoyed gardening. Surviving are is his wife of 39 years, the former Deborah Dew; two sons, Charles D. (Karen) of Mexico, NY and Michael Buckley of LaFayette; a brother, Daniel Buckley of Oneida; two sisters, Alice Harris of Fabius and Josephine Hare of Russell Point, OH.; two grandsons, Joshua and Justin Buckley; a dear friend Amy Wagner of Fabius; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a Syracuse native who had been a laboratory technician at Upstate Medical Center and at Bristol Laboratories until 1970. She loved traveling, needleworkand her two cats, Spooky and Mattie. Gott, Orrin Daniel July 27, 2005 Orrin Daniel Gott, 27, of Cazenovia, died Wednesday in a tragic motocross accident. He was a lifelong resident of the Cazenovia area. Dan was an Engineer for Carrier Corp. in Syracuse. He was a professional motocross biker who competed inmany area races. He died, doing what he liked to do most, motocrossing with his family. Surviving are his parents, Philip and Marva Gott, both of Cazenovia; his sisters, Dr. Meg Nowak of Cortland and Anne Charron of Clay; his brothers, Michael Nowak of Cazenovia; Philip Gott, Jr. of Cazenovia and Chris Gott of Kirkville; his girlfriend Melissa Leonard of Cazenovia; several nieces, nephews and cousins. William Holzhauer, 67, of 30 Swift St., Auburn, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2005 at Clifton Springs Hospital. He was a graduate of Auburn West High School and Auburn Community College and a Navy veteran. Bill worked for and served ascontroller for General Products/G+W Ind./Wickes/TRW of Union Springs for 38 years, retiring in 1998. He was a Board member for the Chamber of Commerce, a board member and manager for Babe Ruth League, Board member and VP of Finance for Highland Park Golf Course, Board Member and President for E. John Gavras Center, manager and coach for the Auburn Little League and member of the Knights of Columbus and a 3rd Degree Knight and a member of the Ancient Order of Hiberians. She was a resident of Chittenango the past 22 years, for the past 12 years, she was employed as a bridal consultant. She was a member of the Chittenango United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Cazenovia Country Club. "Shelly's greatest gift was love, her greatest treasure was family and she was always there with a smile". She was predeceased by her father, Ellis Martin, Jr., May 2005; her mother, Muriel in 2004; and her sister, Leslie Martin in 1997. Lee George, Charles "Charlie" Lee George July 11, 2005 Charles "Charlie" Lee George, died July 11, 2005 at his home in Sun City Palm Desert. He was born in Watertown, NY, to the late Lee George and Marguerite Whitmarsh Keller. He had a Master's Degree in Counseling. He was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Marines in 1964 and retired as a colonel. He was stationed in Vietnam twice, Quantico, Kansas City, Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, Okinawa, Camp Pendleton, Camp Lejuene, NC, Fort Benning, GA, 29 Palms. Among his awards were the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star, Navy Achievement, Two Purple Hearts, Combat Action Ribbon, Pres. Unit Citation, National Defense Service and Vietnam Service Medal. After retiring he taught in the Morongo Unified School District for 10 years. Survivors include his wife, Susan; a daughter, Karen G. Barandon and son-in-law, Brian Barandon; a son, Matthew D. George; his mother, Marguerite Keller; and one grandson, Parker Lee Barandon. The family suggests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association. Schmitt, George Sax July 27, 2005 George Sax Schmitt, 72, died peacefully in his sleep on July 27 after radiation for cancer and the long aftermath. He was the son of Frank and Esther Sax Schmitt born on August 10, 1932. George graduated from North High School and Le-Moyne College and did graduate work at Syracuse University. He served in the US Navy, both as an enlisted man and as an officer in the Korean War. His true love was the entertainment business and had been involved in helping talented performers both here and in England. George is survived by his sister, Mary K. Stone and her husband, Ford E. Stone of Manistee, Michigan; six nieces; and two nephews and their children. He was also survived by the many dear friends he had made and treasured in his life. Mr. Weeks was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, the former Linda L. Blasier; his mother, Elizabeth E.
